Colour me fit: What your athleisure shade says about your sweat style

Athleisure shopping has evolved from a fit or fabric decision to a relationship to colour. Women today are selecting athletic wear similar to how they would select a fun lipstick or the latest nail colour. Why? Because what is traditionally worn to sweat in, is no longer reserved for just the gym. Athleisure has taken over brunch dates, grocery runs, airport lounge hauls, and even office casual days. Also, the colour selected quietly signals to the world, precisely who you are, and how you feel. Colour has become an implicit mood board. It can say 'I am here to crush my HIIT class', or 'I am embracing a slow, mindful flow.' Depending on the way the colour is used, it can be warm, grounding, playful pastel, or sharp and classic. In some ways, colour in athleisure is more than a style choice, it's self-identity in motion. Café Pop: The Practical-Casual Classic Warm, cozy, and reminiscent of that first cup of coffee (and the perfect one at that), Café Pop is a soft brown that mixes utility with everyday wear. The woman who picks Café Pop enjoys comfort, but refuses to sacrifice being put together. She is grounded, calm, steady, and reliably calming, regardless if she is walking into her yoga studio or crossing to-dos from her list. Bean Pink: Power Hidden in Softness Bean Pink embodies feminine softness and quiet power. It is the colour of the modern woman who knows that her strength doesn't need to be loud to be felt. Her confidence exists in sealing the business deal but also in holding a plank position for one minute. This blush staple is her armour and go-to for when she needs to feel chic yet able to move effortlessly. Petal Pop: The Playful Pastel Petal Pop is light, sweet, and unashamedly happy. It is the colour you wear when you want to bring a bit of pizazz into the room or to the running track. The woman who gravitates toward Petal Pop is an optimist. She fills every space with her energy, making even the most difficult workouts feel like social events. Sky Drip: Calm in Movement Sky Drip is the breezy blue that feels like a deep breath in fabric. Cool, calming, and always soothing, it is ideally suited for the woman who likes to keep her mind as unused as her calendar is busy. She moves with grace, finds her rhythm in every routine, and has a quiet confidence that says, 'I've got this.' Taking a Classic: Navy Play Navy Play takes the timelessness of navy and offers you a contemporary interpretation. It's clean, adaptable clothing that is eternally flattering—designed for the woman who loves a classic but is okay with entertaining a modern twist. She can throw it on with anything, wear it look like she has effortlessly curated a mix of sporty and stylish. Ipshita Das, Founder of DizzyDuck sums it up well, she says 'Athleisure has transcended so far beyond functional wear it's a form of self-expression on the go. Women gravitate to a colour not solely on the garment, but what the colour says about how they want to feel. Each colour choice creates its own mood board, whether it's the confidence of navy blue, or the calm of sky blue.' So, next time you grab a pastel pink t-shirt or a deep navy crop top, keep in mind: it's not just activewear. It's your personal palette of energy, your mood for the day, and your quiet way of sharing who you are, without saying a single word.

Not just a thread—Raksha Bandhan is a love language now

In a world of expanding relationships, we also redefine our traditions, and this is the case for Raksha Bandhan. Initially, simply a practice of a sister tying a thread for protection, Raksha Bandhan has matured into a more complex and emotional relationship. In effect, it's more than just a thread, it is the love language of sending quirky gifts that must be delivered, doing things with our siblings to show appreciation, hugs over FaceTime, and sometimes, the silence of an agreed overwhelming feeling of love. The playful exchange of tease in sibling rivalry or long distances of FaceTiming each other is special, and it reflects a varying depth of love beyond the act. No matter what relationship/matrix you fall in; the older protective sister or the pampered youngest sibling; Raksha Bandhan has become subtle and allowing for leaving strokes to paint every color of love. 'Raksha Bandhan is no longer just about a day of tying a thread. It's an emotion, a vibe, a whole celebration of all the memories and quirks that only siblings have. At IVYN, we have seen amazing transition sisters walking into our store with Pinterest screenshots, requesting custom gift hampers, and shirt bundles for their brothers.' And that's what makes Rakhi 2025 so special.' Pooja Jain, Founder of IVYN In a traditional context, Raksha Bandhan may have been about the sister tying a rakhi on her brother's wrist, and him promising to protect her, however, if we are being real; our siblings protect us with more qualifications than that of a guard. Siblings everywhere before they are brothers protect our secrets, they protect our dreams, they protect our dignity from an embarrassing situation, and they even protect our right to the last slice of pizza. 'At DizzyDuck, we create for the sibling who wants to be remembered. Our Rakhi offerings are way past the traditional this year, we introduced athleisure fashion. But more than that, we're seeing people become more comfortable with the weirdness of the bond. Brothers are writing complete letters and sending athleisure to their sisters. Rakhi is becoming intimate again not just with rituals, but creativity. It is handmade fun. It's memories in a box.' Ipshita Das, Founder of DizzyDuck The Emotional Cart: Where sentiment meets shopping Rakhi has slowly become a love language translated through curated carts and well-wrapped intentions! Rakhi is no longer just celebrated between siblings who live under the same roof. People are celebrating long-distance Rakhi with virtual hugs, surprise deliveries, and video calls that last until midnight. And the roles are evolving too, sisters are giving equally thoughtful gifts to brothers, showing that this tradition isn't just about protection but about partnership. 'At CITTA we've seen that siblings are picking self-care hampers and wellness kits not as gifts, but as caring gestures. What is so nice to see is that some younger brothers are selecting meaningful gifts and asking us which products their sisters will actually use, whether that is calming body washes or wellness bundles.' Akanksha Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of CITTA As the world becomes increasingly digital, Raksha Bandhan takes us back to basics: there are some bonds that you just can't replicate. It doesn't matter if it's an extravagant rakhi, a box of expensive chocolates, or just an old picture turned into a keychain, it is the thought that matters. Raksha Bandhan is your chance to say, 'Hey, you still annoy me but without you, my life would be completely different!' This year, don't hold back; be as crazy as you like. Get that ridiculous gift. Tie that rakhi with gusto. Roast your sibling with affection. Don't forget to take that perfect Rakhi selfie, because if you didn't capture it, did it really happen?

I helped my mum transform her boring beige front path with DIY – but her neighbour war is now more blatant than ever

A WOMAN has shared how her mum transformed the bland front of her house using some pretty stencils on the tiles. However, it was the petty act with the neighbours which has really turned heads. 3 A woman shared how her mum had stencilled her front path but finished abruptly by the neighbour she doesn't like Credit: tiktok/@__bambamx A clip shared to TikTok showed how she had added the stencils to the front steps of her home, and also to the passageway leading to her neighbours' houses either side. We previously shared how I transformed my grubby garden patio for less than £50 - it was so easy to do, all you need is some paint & a stencil 3 Meanwhile, she finished the design off for the neighbour she did like Credit: tiktok/@__bambamx She used nothing but a stencil and a lick of paint. The DIY whizz named Maddy Mcgrail took to Facebook group snap of her patio, which was plain and in desperate need of some TLC . Speaking to Fabulous, she then explained how she simply purchased two stencils from Dizzy Duck, which cost her around £40, and some paint which she had leftover. To achieve the finished look, she painted the patio black and, once dry, she then stuck the affordable stencil on one pavement slab at a time. Next , she slowly brushed the white paint over it and after painting over all the gaps, she carefully removed the stencil. 3 Maddy transformed her dull patio using stencils and a lick of paint Credit: Facebook/Gardening on a Budget Official She was then left with a stunning geometric print which gives her outdoor haven a total new lease of life. Proudly posting a photo of her efforts online, she penned: "Well I think the hard work as paid off!" And it seems she isn't the only one to think so, with super impressed social media users quick to flock to the comments section to praise her very handy DIY skills. 'Well done!!
