Samuel L Jackson reveals horror moment he was dragged by a subway train
Samuel L Jackson has recalled the terrifying moment he was convinced he was going to die after a freak accident on the subway. In a candid new interview, the Pulp Fiction actor opened up about the moment he was 'dragged by a subway train' when he was younger, sharing that he never got the sensation of his life flashing before his eyes. During an appearance on Paloma Faith's Mad Sad Bad podcast, the 76-year-old unpacked his ordeal, declaring: 'That whole thing about your life passing before you, it's like, 'Eh, not really,'. Everything does slow down, though. 'I got dragged by a subway train in New York in 1990. I got dragged by the A train. Fortunately, I was in the middle door of the last car, and it was a long-ass train station. 'When the door closed on my foot, train took off. I'm sitting there thinking, 'Oh, f**k, I'm going to die.' 'I could see the tunnel coming, and I couldn't figure out anything that I could grab or hold on to and get close to the train so I wouldn't get killed in the tunnel. 'It just slowed down really, really slow until all of a sudden the train stopped.' Shedding light on his mindset during that moment, Samuel admitted that he was focused on the incident ruining Christmas for his loved ones – including wife LaTonya Richardson and their daughter, Zoe. 'When I was being dragged, all I could think of was, it was going to be a really sad Christmas, because it was like a few days before Christmas,' the Marvel legend continued. 'So I was going to miss my birthday and all that. I was like, 'Damn, it's going to be f**ked up. It's going to be a f**ked up Christmas this year.'' The Django Unchained star was heavily injured in the accident, and tore his ACL and meniscus – he was in physical therapy for over a year and spent 10 months on crutches. He later took legal action and sued the transit system, and was eventually awarded $540k. More Trending It was only when he got to court for a hearing that he learned what happened that day, and that a man rushed to action and saved his life. 'I was a car-and-a-half from the tunnel when it stopped,' he added to Paloma. 'The guy who pulled the emergency cord was on crutches. 'Everybody else in there was trying to open the door, get my foot out the door, push and push and pull and try and take my shoe off. And he was going to the emergency cord, and he finally pulled it and stopped it. 'Things slow down when you're looking at death. I've been in car accidents and if I see them, it's almost like everything is slowing down and you know there's nothing you can do to get out of the way.' Got a story? Jamie Foxx finally sets the record straight on whether Sean ‘Diddy' Combs tried to kill him
Jamie Foxx set the record straight on the running conspiracy theory that Sean 'Diddy' Combs was behind his 2023 medical emergency. '… I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f–kng perfect shape,' Foxx recalled of his time in the hospital during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable published Thursday. '[I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me,' the actor stated. However, the Oscar winner seemed to be more upset about another rumor claiming he was cloned. 'When they said I was a clone, that made me flip. I'm sitting in the hospital bed, like, 'These bitch-ass motherf–kers are trying to clone me,'' he joked. The 'Django Unchained' star, 57, previously touched on the conspiracy theory about Combs following the disgraced music mogul's September 2024 arrest. Foxx poked fun at the Bad Boy Records founder — who is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering — as well as his own life-threatening health scare in his Netflix stand-up special, 'What Had Happened Was,' which premiered that December. 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying,' Foxx told the audience. 'I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' 'Hell no, I left them parties early,' he continued, referencing Combs' infamous bashes. Foxx quipped that he was always 'out by 9' since 'something [didn't] look right' at the rapper's soirées, which allegedly led to wild sex performances dubbed 'Freak-Offs.' In his comedy special, Foxx revealed his medical emergency was due to a brain bleed that led to a stroke. The actor had originally attributed his hospitalization to a 'bad headache.' The comedian said doctors told his sister Deidra Dixon, 'If I don't go in his head right now, we're going to lose him.'' After his surgery, Dixon was told, 'We didn't find where it was coming from, but he is having a stroke. He may be able to make a full recovery but it's going to be the worst year of his life.'

Jamie Foxx opens up on the conspiracy theory that Diddy tried to kill him
Jamie Foxx has broken his silence on the conspiracy theory alleging Sean 'Diddy' Combs orchestrated the 2023 medical emergency that had him 'within an inch of his life.' The 'Ray' actor said that while in the hospital, sedated on a cocktail of pain medications, he was able to sneak his phone and find out what the world was saying about him, he told a Hollywood Reporter roundtable Thursday. 'I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f–king perfect shape. [I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me,'' Foxx, 57, recalled. 3 Sean P. However, what caused him to 'flip' out was when he read the conspiracy theory that he was cloned. 'When they said I was a clone, that made me flip. I'm sitting in the hospital bed, like, 'These bitch-ass motherf–kers are trying to clone me,'' the comic joked. Even while heavily medicated and still trying to figure out what caused his medical emergency, the Oscar-winning actor didn't miss a beat, using his comedic chops to lighten up the situation. 'The next morning, I said, 'I know what's up, you're trying to clone me and make me white so I'll sell better overseas.' The psychiatrist says, 'Are you all right?' And I say, 'Am I all right or am I all white? I saw you trying to get the white motherf–king Jamie Foxx and it ain't going to happen.' He just calmly goes, 'I think we're going to lower your dosage,'' Foxx quipped. 3 Foxx attends the 'Back In Action' Berlin Special Screening at Zoo Palast on Jan. 15, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. WireImage While the 'Django Unchained' star has shot down any conspiracy theory about Combs causing his medical emergency, it's not the first time he's brought it up publicly. Foxx previously addressed the rumors that the disgraced Bad Boy Records founder tried to kill him in his 2024 Netflix stand-up special, 'What Had Happened Was.' 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying. I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?'' Foxx joked on stage. Foxx quipped, 'It's slippery in here.' Combs, who was arrested in September 2024 and is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering, is alleged to have had wild sex performances dubbed 'Freak-Offs' at his parties over the years. He faces life in prison if convicted. In his comedy special, Foxx said a brain bleed caused him to have a stroke, which led to his April 2023 hospitalization. He detailed the 'medical complication' that nearly killed him and caused him to lose 20 days of memory after a 'bad headache,' before waking up in a wheelchair in the hospital, where doctors told him he was 'within an inch of his life' when he first arrived. The Grammy winner credited his sister Deidra Dixon with getting him the help he needed, as well as his daughter Anelise for saving his life by keeping him calm as a 'spiritual defibrillator.'

Walton Goggins' wife breaks silence on Aimee Lou Wood relationship speculation
Walton Goggins' wife, Nadia Conners, has addressed the relationship speculation involving both her husband and his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood. The actor, 53, and British-born actress, 31, portrayed an age-gap couple in the third season of the hit HBO series who met a tragic fate during the finale. The pair's on-screen chemistry and appearing on each other's social media pages sparked up questions about their relationship off-camera earlier this year. Goggins and Wood were also later embroiled in 'feud' rumors which appear to have now been brushed aside. But in regards to the romance rumors, Walton's wife offered her own thoughts during a recent interview with Hello! Magazine. 'It's odd to see it, but it's an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters,' the director expressed to the outlet. 'I take it as a sign that he's become quite popular.' Walton and Nadia tied the knot back in 2011 and are also parents to a son named Augustus, 14. In the latest season of The White Lotus - which aired its final episode last month in April - Goggins played the character of Rick who goes to the White Lotus resort in Thailand with his younger girlfriend Chelsea, who was portrayed by Aimee. The two stars jumped to Instagram to reflect on their time on the show and also gave shout outs to each other. Wood uploaded a black and white photo of the pair as they strolled down a street and penned in the caption, 'The perfect storm.' The Django Unchained actor also shared an assortment of behind-the-scenes snaps of both himself and Aimee. The actor wrote a lengthy caption to his followers which read, 'Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. 'It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us.' He added, If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It's there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know.' Walton later added, 'Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget...' However, speculation of a 'feud' between the stars also arose when the two seemingly unfollowed each other on Instagram. A sketch on SNL later mocked Aimee's teeth and Manchester accent - which Wood had labeled 'mean and unfunny.' Days later, she was spotted looking tearful during an outing in London. The skit also was a spoof of The White Lotus, and Goggins praised it by commenting: 'Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.' SNL and Sarah Sherman - who portrayed Aimee's character in the sketch - apologized to the actress and the comedian also sent her flowers. 'I was excited to play her because she's so iconic, her character is so iconic, and I f***ing obviously never meant to hurt anyone's feeling,' Sherman told Vanity Fair earlier this month. 'Never in a million years did I get into comedy to make anyone upset. I feel terrible that anyone would feel bad. 'Being in conversation with everything popular culture, there's such a danger there,' Sarah further explained to the outlet. 'Sometimes you just don't realize how it comes across, but you're put in a position to be engaging with it all the time, because you are a part of a show that's interacting with culture and popular politics and popular whatever...' Fans were also left questioning about Walton and Aimee's status when he notably walked out of interview with The Times when the actress was brought up on more than one occasion. He had told the publication, 'I'm not gonna have that conversation. There is no conversation to be had about that.' Earlier this month on May 5, both stars also attended the 2025 Met Gala - but did not cross paths on the red carpet. That same week, Goggins hosted SNL - but made no mention of his co-star, nor did she make a surprise guest appearance. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala, she had been asked if she would possibly make a cameo on the sketch comedy series with Walton. 'I couldn't say… but also I'm not, I'm not doing that,' the actress said, but added she would still go on the show despite being mocked in a skit. 'Yeah! Why not? It would be fun. I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever.' She seemed to put an end to feud rumors that had ignited by revealing she and Goggins had recently hung out. 'I actually saw him two days ago,' Aimee said. 'We haven't had that much time to debrief about everything. So every time we see each other, there's never time. 'So it'll be good to see him again tonight, because we saw each other briefly a couple days ago and we were just trying to download everything and the episodes and Rick and Chelsea's whole story now that we've seen it in full. There's just never enough time.' Walton and Aimee have also since started following each other on social media once again. Goggins and his wife Nadia recently collaborated on the film The Uninvited which has officially hit theaters. The actor took on a leading role in the project alongside other stars such as Pedro Pascal, Elizabeth Reaser, Lois Smith, Rufus Sewell and Eva De Dominici. Walton recently got candid about having 'disagreements' with Nadia while working together during an interview with Radio Times. 'The adjustment was very difficult the first couple of days! We're both Scorpios. We are extremely independent people. We both have very specific ideas about things,' he said. 'She was the director and I had to listen to her the way that I listened to directors – but I had to push back on things that I disagreed with, for my story. But we did find a rhythm. And we did get to a place where we weren't taking things personally.'
