High Wycombe cat gets job helping to train hearing dogs

A Siamese cat has been recruited to help train hearing who lives in High Wycombe with owner Julie Shute, spends time with dogs to see how they react to him, and assess if the trainee could live with a cat Broadley, dog training instructor at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People's Buckinghamshire training hub, said: "Frank is proving to be a great addition to our training team. "It's not a job that would suit every cat, but as a confident boy who loves dogs, he is already best friends with trainee puppy Kasper." The charity trains dogs across the country to recognise sounds such as smoke alarms, doorbells and baby dogs are slowly introduced to Frank, who is first seen behind a transparent glass Frank will rest on his owner's lap in reach of the dog to see how they Shute said: "When a dog comes up to Frank, I can tell by his body language if he's comfortable around them."Throughout the whole interaction, he's always free to jump out of the way or leave the room. But if he's comfortable, his muscles will relax, and the dog can then come closer to sniff him."Dogs that bark, seem overinterested or back away from Frank may not be appropriate to live with a cat owner. At the end of each training session, Frank is awarded with his favourite snack: roast chicken owner continued: "Frank got involved purely by accident when I decided to volunteer as a puppy trainer and was given our first puppy, a Cockapoo called Gizmo."They ate, slept and played together. My trainer at the time observed this and asked if it would be possible for other hearing dog puppies to visit Frank to see if they could be matched with a deaf partner who already had a pet cat."Frank started taking his role with Hearing Dogs very seriously and soon earned his title of 'chief cat tester'." Ridiculously Fun Corgi Puppies' ‘Obstacle Course' Is the Best Thing We've Seen All Day

Ridiculously Fun Corgi Puppies' 'Obstacle Course' Is the Best Thing We've Seen All Day originally appeared on PetHelpful. Some things are just impossibly cute, like corgi puppies - oh, and corgi puppy obstacle courses! Just check out this video to see what we're talking about. Not only is this total cuteness overload, but it is also, unsurprisingly, the best thing we've seen all day! What happens when four adorable, hungry corgi puppies have to traverse a fun little obstacle course to get to their food? Fun, laughs, and outrageous adorableness. That's what! As this video shows, the first part of this obstacle course consists of a barrier, some spiky, plastic padding that these little dogs have to jump over, a towel, a mini ball pit, and finally a tray of water. That last obstacle proves to be the biggest one for these little pups because none of them likes getting wet. The first pup makes it through the entire course of these. Their siblings, however, all get tripped up when it comes to crossing the water tray. At first, one of them sticks their paw in, but doesn't like the wet feeling, so they back away. But then they very quickly figure out that the only way is forward, and brave a few tentative steps through the water to get to their next one does the same, crossing the water very, very carefully. That leaves the last corgi pup, who looks more than a little bit frazzled as they realize that they must cross the water in order to get to their food. They bark in defiance, almost as if to say, 'No, I will not cross this moisture death pit!' However, they soon realize that they are protesting in vain, and realize that they must cross the water if they want to eat. Quite comically, they end up jumping right into the tray and making a big splash! Afterwards, they are finally able to join the canine siblings in enjoying some nice, tasty kibble! As this other video shows, these corgi pups are becoming well-versed in obstacle courses and challenging enrichment toys. This one is a moving surface that challenges them to learn how to make decisions in a calm, rational manner while they are under stress, according to the video's comments section. The comment added that playing on this moving surface will also help them develop body awareness and startle and recovery responses, which will go a long way towards helping them build confidence. And hey, who doesn't love a confident corgi? Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Follow us on YouTube for more entertaining videos.
