Bagpipe busker belts out Don't look Back in Anger to Oasis fans outside Murrayfield

Euan Fraser on guitar and Joel Rushdon on bagpipes are playing to fans outside Murrayfield. Edinburgh is buzzing with Oasis fans as they head to Murrayfield for the first of three gigs at the city's stadium. ‌ Tonight, Liam and Noel Gallagher are playing their first Scottish gig in 16 years, and those lucky enough to get tickets for their triumphant return to the country they were discovered are already making their way to the venue to soak in the atmosphere before the gates open at 5pm. ‌ Adding to the excitement with a special Scottish twist are buskers and Oasis super fans Euan Fraser and Joel Rushdon, who are on site and belting out some of the band's most iconic tunes on the acoustic guitar and bagpipes. ‌ Speaking to the Record, the pair revealed they have been practicing highlights from the Britpop legends' huge back catalogue all week. Euan said: "Joel brought the idea up, he'd been learning all the songs on the bagpipes. We had practiced at mine and a week later, here we are." ‌ The musical duo said they were planning to play most fan favourite tunes as revellers arrive for the show, including Oasis Live '25 opening number Hello, and Don't Look back in Anger, but not all were suited to the sound of the bagpipes. Joel added: "The pipes don't have the biggest range, so it's hard to get ones that fit." The first show at Murrayfield kicks off tonight, Friday, August 8, with two more performances following on Saturday, August 9, and Tuesday, August 12. More than 200,000 Gallagher fans will descend on the stadium over the three nights. ‌ Oasis are set to play a total of 23 songs over the three evenings in Edinburgh. When it comes to the setlist, Noel and Liam have saved their most popular songs for last up until now, ending the stellar evening with Wonderwall into Champagne Supernova - the closing track of the band's second album. Preparations have been underway for weeks in Edinburgh and the capital and Oasis super fans have been at the stadium since first thing this morning, some from as far as South Korea, USA and Germany. The band kicked off Oasis Live '25 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff before heading to Heaton Park in Manchester for a homecoming. Their most recent performances took place at London's iconic Wembley Stadium last week. Dublin will be the last city the brothers play on the UK and Ireland leg before Oasis move on to audiences in the US, Asia, and Australia. The epic run of shows will wrap up in South America, São Paulo, Brazil on November 23, 2025.

THE top 20 best Oasis lyrics have been revealed – with 'Don't look back in anger, I heard you say' named the most memorable in a recent survey. Other iconic lyrics to feature in the top 20 included 'All your dreams are made when you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade' from What's the Story Morning Glory, and 'We believe in one another', from Acquiesce. The study was commissioned by international mobility provider, Andrew Smith, MD of the brand in the UK, said: 'The level of excitement around the band's reunion is rarely seen, so this is our own tribute, inspired by the lyrics we love.' While one in 10 (nine per cent) have booked a spontaneous trip after listening to one of the lines. A strong emotional impact (44 per cent) is the biggest characteristic of a memorable lyric – but 35 per cent said clever wordplay or rhyming is much more important. Additionally, 19 per cent look out for cultural or social relevance when thinking of lyrics that stuck with them.
