Starbucks ordered to pay $50 million to man burned by hot tea
A man was awarded $50 million from Starbucks after a large hot drink spilled on his lap in a drive-thru, causing life altering third-degree burns.
You may not know it, but June 10 is National Iced Tea Day!
It's a day to escape the heat by sipping a refreshing beverage and take advantage of local tea deals.
Whether you want free tea or a chance to win a seaside vacation, here are some deals Illinois consumers should look out for.
McAlister's Deli
The first 30 guests in line at all McAlister's locations on June 10 will receive a free Tea Pass, valid for one Big Tea per day for 30 consecutive days. You must be a McAlister's Rewards member to redeem.
Customers can also enter the chain's giveaway on June 10 on Instagram and Facebook for another chance to win a free Tea Pass.
Lipton Hard Iced Tea
The famous tea brand is giving fans a chance to win a trip to Palm Springs through its "Don't Retire the Party" giveaway.
From June 10-17, fans can enter to win by following @liptonhardtea on Instagram, liking the National Iced Tea Day post on June 10 and tagging a friend in the comments who they want to bring on the trip with the hashtag #dontretiretheparty. Visit for official rules.
Tsaocaa Tea
Tsaocaa customers can buy one iced tea and get the second 50% off on June 10 and 11 at the chain's Chicago store, located at 2026 S Clark St Unit G. The second drink must be of equal or lesser value, and toppings are charged separately.
