Khaby Lame, TikTok's most popular star, leaves U.S. after being detained by immigration agents in Las Vegas
Khaby Lame, the world's most popular TikTok personality with millions of followers, has left the U.S. after being detained by immigration agents in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was detained Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed in a statement. Lame arrived in the U.S. on April 30 and "overstayed the terms of his visa," the ICE spokesperson said. The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Tuesday to the email address listed on Lame's Instagram account. He has not publicly commented on his detainment. His detainment and voluntary departure from the U.S. comes amid President Donald Trump's escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE, as the president tests the bounds of his executive authority. Khaby Lame poses for photographers upon arrival at the premiere of the film "Oppenheimer" in London, July 13, 2023. Scott Garfitt/Invision/AP File A voluntary departure — which was granted to Lame — allows those facing removal from the U.S. to avoid a deportation order on their immigration record, which could prevent them from being allowed back into the U.S. for up to a decade. The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated "life hacks." He has 162.3 million followers on TikTok alone. The Senegal-born influencer moved to Italy when he was an infant with his working class parents and officially became an Italian citizen in 2022. His internet fame quickly evolved. Lame began his TikTok career after losing his job in a factory. "It's my face and my expressions which make people laugh," Lame told The New York Times in 2021, saying his reactions speak "a global language." He signed a multi-year partnership with designer brand Hugo Boss in 2022. In January, he was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. Last month, he attended the Met Gala in New York City, days after arriving in the U.S.

‘Summer I Turned Pretty' Cast's Hints About Possible Love Triangle Outcome and Season 3 Changes
The Summer I Turned Pretty cast is just as invested in the love triangle outcome as fans are — but what have they said about potential changes to the endgame relationship? Prime Video's hit series, which debuted in June 2022, is based on a book series of the same name by showrunner Jenny Han. The Summer I Turned Pretty focuses on Belly (Lola Tung) who gets caught up in a love triangle where after exploring her feelings for Conrad (Christopher Briney), she starts to reconsider whether his brother, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), is her perfect match. In the original book trilogy, Belly made her final choice in We'll Always Have Summer, which will presumably inspire the third season of the show. Fans, however, have questioned whether the story will follow the events of the book series or whether there will be changes. Han hasn't given much information away except to confirm that the final season will raise the stakes, writing via Instagram in December 2024, 'One thing I'll say about season 3 of [The Summer I Turned Pretty] ... there are no filler episodes.' Which 'Summer I Turned Pretty' Characters Are — and Aren't — Returning for the 3rd and Final Season There seem to be plans to expand the Summer I Turned Pretty universe — no matter the outcome. "I will say stay tuned, but Jenny's got some exciting surprises. So we're thrilled about a season 3, and she's got a vision for more," Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios, told Deadline in September 2023. "This show is going to continue to be a huge centerpiece for us, and we absolutely have plans to continue building it. Jenny's got great vision for where she wants to go with all of it, but we're already hard at work developing complementary pieces.' Keep scrolling for everything the cast has said about whether Belly will choose Conrad or Jeremiah: "I do feel like there's a strong chance that that's a possibility," he exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2023 about the show potentially straying from the original events in the books. "Obviously, I know where [my character Jeremiah] ends up going and what ends up happening. But I don't emphasize on that. Because I think Jenny writes it so well that I'm able to kind of get there naturally without having to force it in a certain direction." After season 1 debuted on Prime Video, Han hinted that her vision for the show may not mirror the events in the books. "I really had to weigh what the fans are expecting with where the show is going creatively and find that balance," she told Variety in June 2022. "My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we're telling, but also for them to know that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it's not going to be exactly the same. I think those are sort of the two things that are always in my head. Han added: "I don't want to spoil too much but the books have been out for a while. You never know what could happen with the show. I was open minded going into it. I was considering a lot of different possibilities." More recently, Han teased that changes were coming, telling Entertainment Weekly in March 2025, "There are going to be surprises. There are the things that [book fans] know and then there are things they think they know, and then there's going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them." Two months later, Han told the outlet there would be a 'satisfying' ending for everyone. 'A successful love triangle is one where, no matter what happens, people are going to be devastated and heartbroken," Han hinted. 'Because if the answer feels really clear and easy, then there's no real conflict. No matter what you do, someone's going to be hurt by it.' 6 Book Moments We Want on 'Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3 — Including Those Belly and Conrad Scenes The actress showed support for onscreen shakeups. "The one thing I've always admired about Jenny is that every season and every decision about what's coming next is purely to serve the story," she explained to EW that same month. "She's never going to do anything that doesn't make sense for the story." Tung continued: "It's all about this beautiful world she's created and giving the fans something really, really special and giving us something really special to work with." Briney hasn't revealed who Belly could choose — but he has some thoughts on the back and forth. 'It's all unreal expectations. It's all ridiculous," he told InStyle in January 2024 before weighing in on Conrad story lines, "You're not going to go to Stanford. You're not going to go to a beach town every summer and fall in love with your mom's friend's f***ing whatever. It's not going to happen. It's stupid. That's not how life works.'

Former Newsboys Singer Michael Tait's Instagram ‘Confession' Explained
Wondering why Michael Tait is making headlines across the Christian music world? The former Newsboys frontman recently admitted to serious misconduct. A years-long investigation had revealed allegations of drug abuse and sexual assault. Michael Tait's 'confession' followed a detailed report involving multiple alleged victims. Here's what we know about the allegations and Michael Tait's 'confession.' On June 10, Michael Tait shared a post on Instagram titled 'My Confession.' He admitted to drug use and unwanted sexual advances on men. His statement followed the release of an investigative article by The Roys Report, which accused Tait of misconduct over a span of two decades. Tait wrote, 'Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity are sadly, largely true.' In the post, Tait confessed, 'For some two decades I used and abused cocaine, consumed far too much alcohol, and, at times, touched men in an unwanted sensual way.' He said he made no excuses, adding, 'While I might dispute certain details in the accusations against me, I do not dispute the substance of them.' He also acknowledged, 'I was, for the most part, living two distinctly different lives.' Tait left Newsboys abruptly in January 2025. On June 4, The Roys Report revealed three men accused Tait of assault during tours in 2004, 2010, and 2014. Two said he fondled them after drinking. One alleged non-consensual touching after Tait invited him to share a bed. Newsboys responded in a June 5 statement, writing, 'We are horrified, heartbroken, and angry… we feel as if we and our families have been deceived for the last fifteen years.' K-LOVE and other Christian radio networks paused airplay for Newsboys and DC Talk music after the story broke. Tait wrote that he had entered a treatment facility in Utah earlier this year and had been sober since. 'I accept the consequences of my sin and am committed to continuing the hard work of repentance and healing,' he stated. He concluded by apologizing to those hurt by his actions.
