Irritatingly, Wet Leg's new album is pretty good

Grade: B+ There's quite a lot to dislike about Wet Leg, even aside from their stupid name. The entirety of their lyrical canon, for starters – vapid and petulant millennial inanities, 50 per cent performative braggadocio, 50 per cent adolescent carping. Or there's the commodification of their sexualities: they've traded up to being bi, just before the market peaks. Or there's Rhian Teasdale's frequent, bone-idle recourse to an affected, half-spoken monotone in lieu of, y'know, a tune – that shtick had begun to pall even before the end of their debut single, 'Chaise Longue'. Or the unremitting chug chug chug of the guitars and the fact that Teasdale sings in the manner of a 16-year-old when she's actually 32. All this and more. Trouble is, for all that, this is a good pop album. As conventional as it gets within a power-pop framework, from the typically childish kiss-off of 'Mangetout' to the rather affecting paean to Davina McCall called, you will be surprised to hear, 'Davina McCall'. 'Catch These Fists' is graced with crunchy power chords to alleviate the eternal chug, while 'Don't Speak' begins like Paul Westerberg but develops rather cutely into being a rather beguiling piece of what – if these people were older – would be called Heartland Rock. They even, in some of the more melodic moments, bring to mind the Cardigans (who were superior and much archer talents), although more often they recall a kind of slightly more savvy Shampoo, even if they have yet to come up with a song as irresistible as 'Delicious'. Still, against my better judgment, I rather enjoyed it. And isn't it lovely to see the Isle of Wight back on the rock map?

Gwen Stefani admits having ‘third party' involved is key in happy marriage to Blake Shelton

When it comes to marriage, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have a few secrets that keep their love strong. The couple has a faithful 'third party' join their happy marriage — one that's always watching over them from above. During an appearance on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,' Stefani, 55, dished on the best advice she's ever received about love, saying, 'Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party.' The singer referred to God, as she looked up and pointed one finger to the sky. While Stefani is known for her popular songs, including hits with No Doubt like 'Don't Speak' and solo singles including 'Hollaback Girl,' she revealed her favorite love song is one by another artist. 'Shania Twain, 'Still the One' … that's a perfect song,' she answered in a rapid-fire questions game. Barrymore then asked the pop star if she'd rather have a 'date night out or a date night in.' 'For sure in,' Stefani laughed. 'I'm literally like — couch, blanket, cookies, chips.' Stefani continued to paint a cozy picture for the host, as she imagined herself in her home. 'I have the dogs right here; we have two couches … Blake's on that couch and we're like 'Hi!'' Stefani explained how the couple would typically greet each other during their date night in. 'I would sit next to him,' she added, 'but he's gigantic and we don't fit anywhere.' Stefani and Shelton first met in 2014 when she signed on to be a coach on season seven of 'The Voice.' It was revealed on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' that the couple has a faithful 'third party.' But by July 2015, both had finalized divorces from their spouses. After the 'God's Country' singer won her over with a song, Shelton and Stefani officially began dating in 2015, and later getting married in July 2021, in an intimate ceremony on Shelton's property in his home state of Oklahoma. Stefani shares three children with her ex-husband Rossdale — sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. In 2022, Shelton announced that after the 23rd season of NBC's 'The Voice,' he was stepping away from his coaching duties to focus on parenting with Stefani. Although the country music star doesn't have any biological children of his own, he places a lot of importance on being a stepfather. 'Even though I'm a stepparent, I take that job very seriously,' Shelton told People magazine at the time. 'The kids see me as a very important person in their life.' 'If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I'm missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that's our kids. This isn't about me anymore and never will be again,' he said as he pivoted to a less work-based life.'

Singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo left her fans awestruck with her latest look at Lollapalooza Chile 2025. She stunned everyone with her eye-catching outfit at the 2025 edition of the festival in Santiago, held at Parque Bicentenario de Cerrillos. More from Billboard Every Song From Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco's 'I Said I Love You First,' Ranked Justin Bieber Shares Mind-Bending Jam Session Video From the Recording Studio Olivia Rodrigo Covers No Doubt's 'Don't Speak' at Lollapalooza Chile 2025 Partners in music and romance (the couple announced their engagement in December), Gomez and Blanco unveiled their joint album — the follow-up to Gomez's 2020 set, Rare, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 that year — on Friday, March 21. I Said I Love You First's full release was preceded by singles including 'Call Me When You Break Up' featuring Gracie Abrams and 'Sunset Blvd.' Also new from Gomez and Blanco this weekend is a surprise release of a bonus track, with a title that should sound familiar to longtime fans. Some time pre-Rare, but after 2015's Revival, Gomez was brewing up music that never saw a release. From that era is a song called 'Stained,' originally produced by Blanco, and first teased in 2016 when the singer shared a snippet. The track eventually leaked in full on the internet, but didn't make the cut on either of Gomez's next two albums. 'Eight years later and you guys never forgot about this song,' she wrote to fans over the weekend. 'Your love for Stained has never gone away and I wanted to do something special to say thank you for all the love and support on the album. Stained is now available exclusively on my official store for a limited time only.' In a livestream that was recorded by a fan over the weekend, Gomez gave listeners (and Blanco, who was on the stream with her) some background on what had happened with 'Stained,' saying, 'You know, I actually loved that song and I was nervous … I remember I was still nervous to curse in a song. I don't know what happened. I'm sure I leaked it on accident, or I did something. But it got out, and I'm kind of happy that it did.' I Said I Love You First – Explained: Narrated by Selena Gomez is available as a digital download for $5 on Gomez's webstore here. A digital download of her I Said I Love You First album with bonus track 'Stained' is also priced at $5, and it can be found on Gomez's webstore here. See Gomez's TikTok clips below to catch her singing along to 'Stained.' She also shares details about the narrated version of I Said I Love You First, noting, 'Basically I get to tell a little story about each song on the album, so I can explain it to you guys and you can see how I view them. I'd love to know your thoughts as well and how you relate to it all.'
