Michigan football named in top 4 by 2026 four-star CB Dorian Barney, visiting June 20

Michigan football named in top 4 by 2026 four-star CB Dorian Barney, visiting June 20 Michigan football recruiting is heating up, and it's hitting the southern region of the United States hard, trying to attract top talent to Ann Arbor. The Wolverines have seven commitments as of current, and three are within the SEC and ACC footprint, with one pledge from Georgia, one from Florida, and another from Texas. With official visits set to begin this week, the maize and blue assuredly will find more top-tier targets from down south who opt to come north and wear a winged helmet. One prospect that the maize and blue have been hot and heavy for, who is set to visit soon, just revealed his top group, indicating that the Wolverines are continuing to surge in his recruitment. Dorian Barney reveals top group and commitment date Michigan has been working hard on 2026 Carrollton (Ga.) four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back who is listed as the No. 75 player in the country according to Rivals. On Tuesday, Barney revealed his top four schools and the Wolverines made the cut, along with Penn State, Georgia Tech, and Texas A&M. He's set to make his commitment on July 5. Michigan has one cornerback tentatively pledged in Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star Brody Jennings, the longest-tenured commit of the cycle. However, Jennings is being aggressively pursued by other top schools in his region and is actively taking visits elsewhere. Barney's visit to Ann Arbor is set Barney is set to visit Ann Arbor for Victors Weekend on June 20, the premier recruiting weekend for the maize and blue this cycle. Currently, Penn State has a lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but there's still a lot of time for the Wolverines to surge in his recruitment. He visited Ann Arbor for the spring game this year. Also a basketball player, the visit to Ann Arbor will be crucial for the maize and blue to make up some lost ground, as the Nittany Lions have received the most visits thus far, with Barney having been to University Park multiple times, and Georgia Tech four times.

Colorado makes final six for 2026 4-star Georgia cornerback

Colorado makes final six for 2026 4-star Georgia cornerback NEWS: Four-Star CB Dorian Barney is down to 6️⃣ Schools, he tells me for @on3recruits The 6'1 180 CB from Carrollton, GA was previously Committed to Alabama Where Should He Go?👇🏽 — Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) March 28, 2025 After narrowing down his potential destinations to 12 schools in January, four-star cornerback Dorian Barney cut his list in half. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound recruit from Carrollton (Ga.) High is down to six schools. Colorado joins Michigan, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Penn State and North Carolina as the final continent of suiters. Barney, a 2026 recruit, received his Colorado offer last spring and attended the Buffaloes' spring game last year. He is currently ranked No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite for Georgia and the No. 12 cornerback in the country. Barney would appear to be a strong candidate to attend Colorado's spring game again now that his former high school teammate and current Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis is in the fold. The two-time all-state selection and MaxPreps All-American is a long, lanky corner who could disrupt any ball within his vicinity. He is also known for his hard-hitting ability, which is rare for cornerbacks these days. A commitment from Barner would be Colorado's first in its 2026 class, as the Buffs are currently the only team in the Big 12 without a commitment to next year's class. Deion Sanders is known for his "late game heroics" in recruiting, but this would be a significant pickup for Sanders and Colorado. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads, and Instagram. Michigan football makes top group for elite cornerback Dorian Barney

Michigan football makes top group for elite cornerback Dorian Barney Fresh off of a reported visit to Ann Arbor visit on Thursday, one elite defensive back has decided to whittle down his list of suitors. Michigan football has been aggressively pursuing multiple prospects in the southern United States, having thus far received three commitments in 2026, with all three pledges hailing from the South. With one from Florida, one from Georgia, and another from Texas, the Wolverines are looking to make an impact in fertile recruiting soil. One such prospect is 2026 Carrolton (Ga.) four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, who was supposedly among the visitors to Schembechler Hall on Thursday. On Friday, On3 reported that the maize and blue made the cut for Barney, along with Penn State, Colorado, Texas A&M, North Carolina, and Georgia Tech. Barney is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 111 player in the country, regardless of position. Last cycle, the Wolverines got two four-star cornerbacks in the fold in Georgia flip Shamari Earls and Texas native Jayden Sanders. Currently, the maize and blue have one corner committed in Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star Brody Jennings, but he's being aggressively pursued by many other schools in the region.

Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star CB out of Georgia

Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star CB out of Georgia One of Texas A&M's priority prospects in the 2026 recruiting class has narrowed down his options, and the Aggies are still in contention for four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, who released his top six program list, including Texas A&M, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, and Georgia Tech. For one of the top defensive playmakers in the 2026 cycle, Barney's list, not including Georgia or Alabama, is surprising but proves that head coach Mike Elko and Texas A&M defensive backs coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson have put in the work this offseason to solidify their relationship with the talented cornerback. Barney has already visited Texas A&M four times, including last weekend, when he had the opportunity to take in the first weekend of spring practices. He can easily see himself within Elko's secondary in the coming seasons. In an interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley, Barney discussed his relationship with the A&M coaching staff. "It was great getting back. That was my fourth time back. So I experienced a lot already with going there some other times, but it was good this time," Barney stated. "The environment, hanging around with the staff. They always show me love when I'm there." According to 247Sports, Barney is currently positioned as the 163rd-ranked prospect in the class, the 18th-ranked cornerback, and the 19th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
