New Orleans launches discounted parking program for hospitality workers
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans has launched a program offering discounted parking for hospitality workers beginning Monday, Aug. 4.
According to city officials, the cost of transportation and parking has been cited as a major challenge faced by local hospitality workers. Officials announced Downtown Discount to help alleviate this problem.

'This new program will provide downtown hospitality workers with access to more than 1,000 discounted parking spaces at over two dozen participating parking lots and garage,' said Mayor LaToya Cantrell.
Daily discounts will average over 43% off the listed price. Monthly subscriptions will be discounted by up to $140 a month.
To qualify, applicants must be current employees who meet the following criteria:
Work for a cafe, coffeeshop, bar, museum, hotel, hostel, bed and breakfast, tour service or live entertainment venue
Work at a location within the French Quarter, Central Business District, Marigny or Posts
