Ospital ng Maynila announces ER overcapacity

Ospital ng Maynila announced the overcapacity of the emergency rooms on Wednesday night. In a statement on social media, the hospital clarified that they are serving more than their intended capacity in the emergency room and that they have no more room for incoming patients. 'Magpapatuloy ang lahat ng serbisyo ng ospital ngunit humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa kawalan ng lugar para sa mga darating pang pasyente o mailipat sa ibang LGU hospital,' the advisory read. (All hospital services will continue but we apologize for the lack of space for incoming patients or their transfer to a different LGU Hospital.) Earlier, the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) also released an advisory stating that their emergency rooms were overcapacity due to the high volume of incoming patients. 'Sa ngayon, hinihikayat namin kayong maghanap muna ng ibang ospital na maaaring magbigay ng agarang serbisyo sa inyo,' PGH said in a statement. (As of now, we encourage them to look for other hospitals that may provide immediate services for you.) 'Nananatiling bukas ang emergency room namin para sa mga pasyenteng nasa kritikal na kalagayan,' it added. (Our emergency room remains open for patients in critical condition.) The Department of Health (DOH) shared a list of 20 hospitals, including Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), in Metro Manila that were ready to receive patients that other ERs could no longer accommodate.
