But a man, aged 36, who was behind the wheel of a blue Renault Megane was pronounced dead at the scene. Two male paramedics and a male patient were rushed to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. None of their injuries are believed to be serious. The stretch of the A98 was shut all day yesterday as officers investigated the crash. The road was also closed overnight as Moray Council completed work. The route is expected to fully reopen this morning. Sergeant Dave Cooper from the road policing unit, Elgin, said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and we continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash. 'I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.' Four people rushed to hospital after ambulance crashes into car on A89
One person had to be airlifted to hospital following the early-morning incident. Four people have been taken to hospital after a car and an ambulance collided on a Scots road. The horror crash occurred at around 6.50am on Monday, August 11, on the A98 at Arradoul, near Buckie. Emergency crews raced to the scene, with one person airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The other three were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin. Their conditions are not known at this stage. Police have closed the road at the A990 and A942 junctions. Images from the scene show the aftermath of the crash, with the ambulance tipped over on its side, with the metal on its front cab warped and buckled, and its windscreen smashed. The car, a dark blue Renault, is positioned off the road, and is severely damaged at the back, with its rear window missing and part of its roof seemingly torn off. The Scottish Ambulance Service said it dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including three road ambulances, one air ambulance, and a critical care paramedic. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 6.56am to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision at A98 junction on the A942, near Buckie. 'We dispatched multiple resources to the scene including three ambulances, a critical care paramedic (CCP) and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). 'We transported three patients to Dr Gray's Hospital, and one patient was transported by SCAA to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.' Drivers have been asked to avoid the area by Police Scotland. A spokesperson said: "The A98 near Buckie is closed at the A990 and A942 junctions following a serious crash involving a car and an ambulance. "Emergency services were called to the A98 at Arradoul around 6.50am on Monday, 11 August. "Motorists are asked to avoid the area."
