NFL.com 2025 mock draft finishes off Jets' offensive line in Round 1
The New York Jets offensive line remains the focus in one of latest 2025 NFL draft mocks. In it, Missouri's Armand Membou was the selection for New York at the No. 7 pick. A versatile offensive lineman, Membou is considered a prospect that could play both guard and tackle at the next level. Advertisement Lance Zierlein breaks down the pick: The Jets must run the ball and protect Justin Fields. They could take a shot with Carter Warren as the starting right tackle, but snagging a talent like Membou to plug in on the right side makes more sense, relative to the board. A junior, Membou has his movement skills praised by but his size might make his chances at playing tackle in the pros difficult. The Draft Network adds to that, stating that power moves from defensive linemen might cause Membou problems. Membou appeared in 12 games for Missouri in 2024. His grade from Pro Football Focus saw a massive jump this past season, from 67.1 in 2023 to 90.6. Free agency is why Membou could be on New York's radar during the draft. While Tyron Smith remains a free agent, he is considering retirement. Meanwhile, Morgan Moses departed for the New England Patriots. Advertisement A playmaker for new quarterback Justin Fields could be an option at the upcoming draft for the Jets in the first round as well. However, Fields would appreciate blocking in front of him, too. Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason. Lions host small-school sack artist David Walker on a pre-draft visit
Lions host small-school sack artist David Walker on a pre-draft visit Walker posted double-digit sacks in 2024 and previously met with the Lions during Senior Bowl week The Lions continue to plow through their 30 allotted pre-draft visits. One of the latest confirmed visitors to Allen Park is a small-school sack artists who previously met with the Lions at the Senior Bowl. David Walker from Central Arkansas verified with Justin Melo of the Draft Network that he had a formal visit with the Lions. Detroit is one of several teams to meet with Walker, who posted over 30 career sacks for the Bears, an FCS-level program. Walker lacks the typical length the Lions covet at EDGE, at just 6-foot-1 and with arm length under 32 inches. He makes up for it with explosive power-to-speed pass rush off the edge and very impressive overall athletic ability. Walker is generally projected in the Day 2/early Day 3 range for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Falcons held virtual meeting with Arkansas wide receiver at Pro Day
Falcons held virtual meeting with Arkansas wide receiver at Pro Day Arkansas WR Andrew Armstrong met with Falcons virtually at Pro Day The Atlanta Falcons have just five selections in this year's draft, and only two within the first 100 picks. Without much draft capital in the early rounds, the team must find some talent on Day 3. Thus far, the Falcons appear to be doing their due diligence. The team has met with several mid-to-late-round prospects, including one highly productive wide receiver. According to Justin Melo of the Draft Network, the Falcons held a virtual meeting with Arkansas' Andrew Armstrong during the school's pro day. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound wideout ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine. Armstrong can play inside and outside and his size makes him a tough matchup for defensive backs. The Arkansas standout led the SEC with 78 receptions for 1,140 receiving yards. He could be a potential sleeper in this year's draft. Lance Zierlein likes Armstrong's size but questions his ability to separate at the pro level. "Long-limbed, tight-hipped wideout with average feet and a lack of separation talent," Zierlein wrote in his 2025 scouting report. "Armstrong put together solid catch production during his two seasons at Arkansas but will need to prove it is translatable in the pros. He doesn't get in and out of breaks quickly enough to separate and lacks the pure gas to be a field-stretching option, but he has good size and ball skills." The Falcons don't have a huge need at wide receiver but they also don't have a ton of depth behind Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Ray-Ray McCloud. The team re-signed KhaDarel Hodge in free agency, but Rondale Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Click here to see what other prospects the Falcons have met with.

Commanders could be searching for a certain type at WR in the draft
The Washington Commanders might be looking for a new weapon for Jayden Daniels, and it seems they may have a type they're looking for at wide receiver after recent meetings. Adam Peters made the move in trading for Deebo Samuel during the NFL combine, but the door is still open for another addition in the wide receiver room. Washington has recently shown attention to two draft prospects that fit a similar mold at the position. Advertisement The Commanders attended the NFL combine to put eyes on some of the top prospects in the draft, and came away impressed with a productive slot wide receiver in Jaylin Noel. According to Justin Melo with the Draft Network, they went as far as hosting a formal meeting with the former Cyclone while at the combine. Noel was a very productive wide receiver at Iowa State who primarily played in the slot, and brought in 80 catches for 1,193 (14.9 ypc), and eight touchdowns in 2024. Kliff Kingsbury would love to utilize Noel's 609 deep yards last season, which was fourth in the country among wide receivers, and stretch the field more on offense from the slot. The former Cyclone is measured at 5-foot-11 and 200 lbs, which fits his playing style as a strong, compact slot receiver with a crisp release package. Jaylin Noel is a separation nightmare for defensive backs, and his track background helps him accelerate at the snap of the ball. Where he lacks in yards after the catch, he makes up with his separation skills to get open in his routes, and his ability to make contested catches when needed. Another wide receiver on Washington's radar more recently was another compact slot receiver who wins with their separation, Xavier Restrepo from the University of Miami. According to Justin Melo from the Draft Network, the Commanders actually had a private workout with Restrepo earlier in the week. Restrepo measured in at just under 5-foot-10 and 209 lbs, filling in his compact frame as another stocky slot receiver. Advertisement Cam Ward loved to look Restrepo's way in 2024, as he finished with 69 catches for 1,127 yards (16.3 ypc) and 11 touchdowns from the top-ranked quarterback in the class. Xavier finished with 1,038 of those receiving yards coming from the slot, which was the third highest in the country. Xavier Restrepo brings reliability to an offense with his sure hands, with only two drops in 2024 on 95 targets. Just like Noel, Restrepo is explosive in his routes and wastes no time getting separation from defensive backs. Washington has Terry McLaurin and now Deebo Samuel on the outside to attack the defense, but seems to be searching for that playmaker in the slot that possesses similar qualities. Jaylin Noel and Xavier Restrepo are both very productive slot wide receivers who are explosive in their releases, run precise routes, have reliable hands, and yield above-average body control with their compact frames. These are two players worth watching as we get closer to the draft, who could be the missing piece in the Commanders' offense.
