Hugh Jackman's new girlfriend Sutton Foster makes shock move as she attends glitzy awards after actor's ex wife Deborra Lee-Furness raged about their relationship

Sutton Foster has taken a stand when it comes to her public image. The girlfriend of Hugh Jackman has opted to turn off some of her Instagram comments as interest in her romance grows to fever pitch. The Broadway actress, 50, headed to the Drama Desk Awards in New York this week and shared some images from the event to her social media. But fans keen to compliment her slinky outfit were out of luck, as the performer has turned off the ability to add comments underneath her social media posts. As of Wednesday evening, comments are switched off altogether on her latest post from the Drama Desk Awards. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Attempts to add new comments on another recent post, made a week ago, are met with the warning 'Comments on this post have been limited.' Comments remain active on other posts, including one from May which is inundated with abusive messages from trolls regarding Sutton's relationship with Jackman. It comes after reports that tensions have reportedly risen between Jackman and n Foster as the Aussie actor attempts to integrate his new partner into the family. The 56-year-old Wolverine star is eager for the actress to develop a relationship with his adopted children — Oscar, 25, and Ava, 19 — who he shares with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness, according to Woman's Day. However, Sutton, who also shares adopted daughter Emily, seven, with ex-husband Ted Griffin, is said to have 'begged Hugh to stop forcing the situation ' while in the midst of his divorce with Deborra-Lee, 69, the magazine reported. 'It was Oscar's birthday recently and Ava's is coming up in July and Hugh couldn't see an issue with wanting to include 'his other half',' the insider told the outlet. They went on to say Sutton is more anxious about the meeting and believes it should wait until the divorce has been finalised and everything has settled down. 'Although she's open to it eventually, she knows they all need a little more time,' the source added. Fans keen to compliment her slinky outfit were out of luck, as the performer has turned off the ability to add comments underneath her social media posts. As of Wednesday evening, comments are switched off altogether on her latest post from the Drama Desk Awards Daily Mail Australia has contacted Hugh and Sutton's representatives for comment. Hugh was recently spotted in public for the first time since Deborra-Lee opened up about her feelings of 'betrayal' in a blistering statement to the Daily Mail. Hugh and Deborra-Lee's split appeared to turn bitter when she spoke about her 'traumatic journey of betrayal' in the wake of her divorce filing last month. 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she said. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.' She continued: 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. 'I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. 'It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.' She concluded her statement with the 'one thing' she has learned, which is 'that none of this is personal.' Hugh has yet to release his own statement on the split, but a source told the Daily Mail he had been left 'extremely disappointed' by Deborra-Lee's words as he believed they had an 'understanding' they would not publicly trash one another. 'There was no stipulation that she could not address this but there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press,' an insider said. 'She got around this by not naming him - instead focusing on how she felt.'

Sutton Foster's pal dishes on her relationship with Hugh Jackman after Deborra-Lee Furness broke 'secret agreement' with actor

Sutton Foster is 'happy' despite her boyfriend Hugh Jackman being accused of 'betrayal' by his estranged wife. On Sunday, the Broadway star, 50, made her first public appearance since Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, filed for divorce from Jackman. Walking the red carpet at the annual Drama Desk Awards in New York, Foster clearly wanted to avoid any personal talk and awkwardly dodged questions concerning her romance with the 56-year-old actor. However, Michael Urie, who played Foster's on-stage lover in Broadway production Once Upon a Mattress, gave details on the new relationship in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail. Urie, 44, said: 'I mean, she's my colleague and my friend, and I love her and I know that she's a really great person and she surrounds herself with really good people, like, all the time.' Directly addressing Foster's romance with Jackman, with whom she went public in January, Urie continued: 'I believe in her and I believe that she's happy.' When asked if he believes the pair are a good match, Urie said: 'They seem great. I love him. He's cool. He's very cool. He came around and saw the show.' Urie, who is in a relationship with Ryan Spahn, added that Foster and Jackman are so compatible that he thinks they should team up on Broadway. The actor said: 'I say they should do Much Ado About Nothing. That would be amazing. They would be amazing in that together.' The Shakespeare play is notably centered around two couples who fall in love despite the challenges put in front of them. Controversy started to swirl around Jackman when, in September 2023 he and Furness announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. Rumors soon followed that the actor had already jumped into a new relationship with his The Music Man co-star, Foster. At Sunday's awards ceremony, Foster had been nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for her role in Once Upon A Mattress, but she lost out to Jasmine Amy Rogers from Boop! The Musical and Audra McDonald from Gypsy. Urie continued: 'Playing her prince, getting to be a leading man is a complete dream. She made me better. Every night was different. We played, we were like kids, but I got to grow up before your eyes. It was a dream. I didn't want it to end.' When asked if the play could return, he added: 'Maybe! Who knows. I would do that show with [Foster] in a barn. I don't care where we go. I would go anywhere with her.' Foster is currently on a solo tour promoting her music while Jackman has his own solo show at Radio City Music Hall and is currently wrapping up his off-Broadway play, Sexual Misconduct Of The Middle Classes. On Friday, Jackman was spotted in public for the first time since Furness gave a blistering interview about her feelings of 'betrayal' to the Daily Mail. Despite the comments the actor seemed in high spirits and showed off a big smile as he signed autographs and took photos with fans. The appearance came two days after Furness opened up about her 'traumatic journey of betrayal' in the wake of her divorce filing last month. Furness said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she said. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.' She continued: 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. 'It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.' She concluded her statement by adding the 'one thing' she has learned, which is 'that none of this is personal.' Jackman is yet to release his own statement on the split, but a source told the Daily Mail that he has been left 'extremely disappointed' by Furness's words as he believed they had an 'understanding' that they would not publicly trash one another. The insider said: 'There was no stipulation that she could not address this but there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press. 'She got around this by not naming him - instead focusing on how she felt.'

Sutton Foster's glam red carpet outing amid Hugh and Deb's drama

Sutton Foster made a solo red carpet appearance over the weekend — and didn't stick around for questions. The actress attended the 69th Annual Drama Desk Awards on Sunday in a sequined cutout gown and black open-toe heels to match. The Younger star, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for Once Upon a Mattress, completed her look with a slicked-back bun and drop earrings. The 50-year-old made a swift exit from the red carpet after posing for smiling snaps, avoiding questions from reporters, the Daily Mail claimed. Foster's rep has yet to respond to request for comment. Her boyfriend, Hugh Jackman, was notably absent from the New York City photo opportunity. Foster, instead, posed for photos with her co-star Michael Urie. The Broadway star's outing comes as Jackman's ex Deborra Lee Furness seemingly took aim at Foster's romance with the actor in a statement to the Daily Mail. The 69-year-old told the outlet about experiencing a 'traumatic … betrayal' last week. 'I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us,' Furness added. 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.' Jackman, notably, separated from Furness in 2023 after 27 years of marriage — amid rumours of an affair with Foster, his Music Man co-star. Furness' friend Amanda de Cadenet co-signed the infidelity speculation in a November 2024 social media comment. While Jackman, 56, has yet to react to Furness' recent diss, the Wolverine star's childhood pal Gus Worland addressed Furness' statement on Ben Fordham Live last week. 'It's not just that statement, but the last couple of years have been difficult,' he said. Worland added that Jackman has been 'moving on with his life,' referencing his relationship with Foster. The pair went public with their romance in January and have moved in together, according to a new report. Foster was previously married to Ted Griffin, with whom she shares an 8-year-old daughter named Emily.

Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling shoot for Emmys recognition for ‘Running Point' at the Lakers training facility

Comedy heavyweights gathered at the Lakers training facility to celebrate Netflix's breakout hit Running Point. The series, starring Kate Hudson and loosely inspired by the life of Lakers president Jeanie Buss, quickly built a dedicated fan base following its February release. A second season is already confirmed and Friday night's FYC panel made one thing clear: Running Point has earned its place among the genre's elite. The talent behind the camera is just as impressive as the talent onscreen. Co-creator and executive producer Mindy Kaling partnered with her former The Mindy Project colleagues Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen to make the series happen, which she joked during the panel was 'fine' and 'like a B-minus.' Barinholtz and Stassen backed Kaling up on her Hulu comedy, which ended its run in 2017, and did the same on Running Point. 'When you're on [set] and you're there since 6 a.m. in hair and makeup, and you're like, 'I'm not sure about this material,' just to know that they are really funny, feminists, and want you to shine, look beautiful, and kill, that's exactly who you want for a show like this,' Kaling said. 'That was like a no-brainer. Also the three of us, while we're very different from each other, we love extremely heavy meals. We like going out to dinner and they're two of my closest friends.' More from GoldDerby Ready for her close-up: Nicole Scherzinger takes the lead in Tony odds for Best Actress in a Musical Inside the Drama Desk Awards: Sarah Snook, Nicole Scherzinger, Jasmine Amy Rogers and more on theater's big night 'Maybe Happy Ending' dominates the 2025 Drama Desk Awards with 6 wins, 'Boop!' and 'Gypsy' stage upsets Tapping Oscar nominee Hudson to lead the show as Isla Gordon in her first major role on television also seemed like a no-brainer. 'She's just Southern California incarnate,' Barinholtz told Gold Derby on the event's carpet. 'Her and Jeanie Buss share this quality where they just look like they emerge from the water in Santa Monica, and she's incredibly funny but also has a ton of heart and is an amazing actress. At the end of the day, people just like her. People like me, but they love her.' The Other Two alum Drew Tarver, who plays Isla's half-brother Sandy, agrees. 'She's unbelievable,' he told Gold Derby. 'I've been a fan of hers for so long. It was a real pleasure getting to watch her do TV. I was so excited in every scene I did with her. She's so funny and she's so right there with us at all times. … When she burps on FaceTime [in the series] and is like, 'Excuse me,' it's one of my favorite moments of the show. She's the best.' Max Greenfield, perhaps best known for playing the hilarious Schmitt on New Girl, found himself in the daunting position of playing Hudson's on-screen fiancé Lev. 'She's a real movie star,' he told us. 'I think I was really excited, and then I got to set the first day and she brings so much, and we were trying to make this relationship seem [real] and I was just like, 'Oh man. I am hanging on for dear life.'' Hudson knew Running Point was right for her when she read the show's log line. 'I was looking for something to do on television,' she said during the panel. 'Honestly, I got sent this traditional offer, and I remember reading the email and it was like 'offer' and then it said in big caps 'Mindy Kaling,' and immediately I was like, 'Ooh, yes.' Then when I read the synopsis I knew immediately. I was like, 'Oh, I'm going to do this show and I hope the script is good.' All the energy immediately, the log line itself, I felt like I could do it. I've had history with Jeanie and felt honored they even wanted me to do it, and then I read the script and it was so funny, and so good, and so smart. I remember sitting with Mindy and I said to her, 'Is this what we're making or is this going to change?' A lot of times in comedy I find that you read something and it's so good, and then people get scared and they kind of water it down. Mindy was like, 'This is what we're making.' And, you know, this is what we made, and it got better and better as the season went on. … I felt so safe and secure, and I know that sounds very female, but I did. I felt like I had so much support and the cast was so incredible. We had a ton of great actors who also write and so it was just constant ideas happening all the time.' She also praised Kaling for her dedication to getting the show's scripts right, even at the most inopportune times. 'I have to say, I've fallen in love with this woman,' Hudson gushed. 'She's not only so brilliant but is so trusting, puts the best team together, and let me tell you something. She was pregnant. We had our first table read, she's on Zoom, she then has the baby and is sending notes like an hour after she has the baby. We were like, 'Isn't Mindy literally in labor? I'm just curious.' She is a powerhouse and delivers what she says she's going to deliver. I've learned a lot from that.' Brenda Song, whose legion of devoted fans Kaling shouted out during the panel, was made for her role of Isla's right hand woman Ali (modeled after Buss's own, Linda Rambis). Song's love for basketball, and the Lakers in particular, is well-documented in dozens of viral videos from games over the past year. 'As a lifelong Laker fan, when I sat down and chatted with Mindy, Ike and Dave, within the first five minutes I was like, 'I will do anything. Do you need a PA? Do you need me to pull a cable? What do you need?'' Song said. 'I feel like I've worked my entire life for this moment and this project because I'm living my best life. We're at the Lakers practice center! C'mon! This is insane. … I truly want to be like Linda when I grow up. We have a lot of things in common. She has two boys, I have two boys. Her son actually has this really funny photo of us from our first cast dinner. We were sitting next to each other, both talking to tall men with our black curls and leather jackets and our hands in the air. Her son literally calls me his TV mom because we are actually quite a lot alike.' Chet Hanks (yes, son of Tom and Rita Wilson) plays part-time rapper/full-time baller Travis Bugg on the series in a role that's suspiciously like Hanks' now infamous online persona. 'When I got the audition the character description was that he's covered in tattoos, he's a wannabe rapper and he's just a huge liability because of the controversial things he posts on social media,' Hanks said over the audience's laughter. 'And honestly? I said to myself, 'Well I don't know how I'm going to pull this off 'cause me and this character are nothing alike. I'm really going to have to get my Daniel Day-Lewis on and get really Method with this.' I've been wanting to say this for a long time: my life has just been a series of performance art. All that stuff you guys saw was just me preparing for this role.' With Season 2 on the horizon, and table reads reportedly taking place this week, where do the cast and creatives hope this story goes? 'I'm trying to get in more adult scenes on the show of a sexual nature,' Barinholtz says, completely straight-faced. 'All of them do it, family be damned.' Ready for her close-up: Nicole Scherzinger takes the lead in Tony odds for Best Actress in a Musical

For the first time since the Tony Award nominations were announced, Nicole Scherzinger has taken the lead in Gold Derby's odds to win Best Actress in a Musical. In this incredibly competitive Broadway season, our combined predictions have been surprisingly steady in many of the top categories. Even Best Actress, which has been seen as a close race since the start, has been consistent in favoring Audra McDonald for Gypsy, with Scherzinger's Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard in second, and Broadway breakout Jasmine Amy Rogers in the title role of Boop! The Musical in third. The category is rounded out by Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard from Death Becomes Her. More from GoldDerby Inside the Drama Desk Awards: Sarah Snook, Nicole Scherzinger, Jasmine Amy Rogers and more on theater's big night 'Maybe Happy Ending' dominates the 2025 Drama Desk Awards with 6 wins, 'Boop!' and 'Gypsy' stage upsets Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling shoot for Emmys recognition for 'Running Point' at the Lakers training facility Scherzinger has long had the majority of our users predicting her to win, but has not been able to break out of second place because of the number of experts and editors who have favored McDonald. Our experts still overwhelmingly support McDonald for the victory, with seven backing the six-time Tony winner to the four who think Olivier Award-winning Scherzinger will repeat stateside. Now Scherzinger has a slim majority of editors predicting her in a 5-to-4 split between her and McDonald. SEE 'Sunset Boulevard' star Tom Francis reveals how he plays 'the complete and utter opposite' of Nicole Scherzinger's Norma Desmond This odds development follows many twists and turns in the Best Actress category throughout the Broadway awards season. At the Outer Critics Circle Awards, Scherzinger faced both McDonald and Rogers — along with Simard, Darren Criss (Maybe Happy Ending) and Jeremy Jordan (Floyd Collins) — in the Lead Performer in a Musical category but lost to Rogers. Days later, Scherzinger won the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance in a field of 51 thespians, a prize that a performer may only win once in their career; she notably bested Hilty, Simard, and Rogers in this category, but McDonald was not eligible as she received the prize back in 2012 for The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. The Drama League victor often goes on to win the Tony in their respective field. But at Sunday's Drama Desk Awards, Scherzinger lost to both McDonald and Rogers for the Lead Performance in a Musical prize; this awards body has gender-free categories and thus opts to give two trophies per race. Although the voting bodies of these various groups do not extensively overlap with Tony voters, their decisions speak to perceptions within the industry and, in this case, the lack of consensus in this race. One large factor in Scherzinger's favor is the perceived strength of Sunset Boulevard across other categories at the Tonys. The revival has the most overall nominations versus Gypsy and Boop! with seven to their five and three, respectively. Our current odds have Sunset out front for Best Musical Revival and Best Director for Jamie Lloyd, though it did not win either of those categories at the Drama Desk, where the prizes went to Gypsy and Maybe Happy Ending's director Michael Arden. Gold Derby also projects Sunset to win Lighting Design. 1. Nicole Scherzinger, Sunset Boulevard – 11/5 2. Audra McDonald, Gypsy – 51/20 3. Jasmine Amy Rogers, Boop! The Musical – 5/1 4.
