Dress to Succeed gives fresh starts with fresh wardrobes
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Dress to Succeed is a one-stop shop for free professional clothing for men and women, but it doesn't just offer outfits. It also helps with job applications and how to prep for an interview.
The Dress to Succeed program has been around for almost 15 years.
Rose Carter says it started out of another program for returning citizens who had been incarcerated.
'A man was coming out of prison and in street clothes, and so I went back to and talked to the warden at OSP, and he said, 'I'm tired of our men coming out, being at the bus station with clothing that made them more vulnerable,'' Rose Carter said.
Dress to Succeed also serves anyone who needs it, including the homeless. Dress to Succeed also helps provide personal hygiene items.
'Everything we do is for free. Everything we receive is from the community,' Carter said.
