Bandits brace for big home matchup against rival Omaha Beef on Saturday

OMAHA, Neb. (KCAU) – The regular season is winding down for the Sioux City Bandits, who have just three regular season games remaining with the team's final three games of the season holding plenty of weight for Sioux City, including Saturday's battle against the Omaha Beef. The Bandits come into the matchup following a season-high 78 points in the team's 78-42 victory at Idaho, snapping its two-game losing skid. Sioux City's losses to division foes Omaha and Beaumont dropped the Bandits to third in the NAL National Division standings. But after some reflection following the up-and-down sequence, the Bandits enter the home stretch determined to make some noise. 'We feel like we're our own worst enemy right now when it comes to those games. We had a lot to look at, a lot to adjust from, but nobody's hitting the panic button by any means,' Bandits running back Drew Prohaska said. 'They hurt a little bit more, but there's a lot to learn from losses like that. And it felt like it translated into this last game and it helped us kind of execute at a really high level this last Saturday.' 'They do feel good. Actually, we do. We were supposed to do and I thought I would continue to do that. Everything is about loyalty and hard work and I feel like as long as we continue to do that and we're confident,' Bandits defensive back Juan Moore mentioned. Sioux City certainly has some ground to make up in the National Division standings as they are two games back of Omaha for first place, but can close the gap with a win against the Beef. The Bandits still have yet to host second-place Colorado, that game will be the team's season finale. Kickoff between the Bandits and the Beef is slated for Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
