His fans, however, have shown him full support and want him to move ahead. Max Verstappen's costly mistake at Spanish Grand Prix Moments before the finish line, Max Verstappen's Red Bull was seen raging ahead for the podium finish, but in the tussle to move ahead of the rest, he was seen intentionally touching George Russell's Mercedes in Lap 64. As a result, Verstappen was handed a 10-second time penalty, which pushed him to the 10th position. Verstappen's Instagram post comes as his license received an additional three penalty points, which brings him in close vicinity of a one-race ban if he commits just one more mistake on the track. Homeowner accused of shooting mother bear in north GA mountains
A homeowner faces charges in the shooting and killing of a mother bear in the north Georgia mountains. The Bent Tree Public Safety and Management said the homeowner has been charged by a Georgia Department of Natural Resources game warden. Bent Tree has also cited him for violating its rules and regulations. The cubs have been spotted since then, but not since Monday afternoon. Bent Tree officials said a man who lives near the spot admitted that he shot the bear Thursday night. The man said that the bear came to his house three times that night, hitting the glass on his door and aggravating his dogs. The first time, he said he yelled and banged on the glass to scare the bear away. The second time, he turned his car alarm on. During the bear's third visit around 10 p.m., the man said he 'felt like he could not go to sleep safely' and fired his gun from the side window of his house to scare the bear away. The man said the bear had been in his driveway near the porch and ran off. The employee responded to not shoot it and to instead call public safety to scare the bear away. The text messages were sent 45 minutes before the man said he shot the bear. The public safety department said it never got a call from him. The homeowner has not been identified. Channel 2 Action News has reached out to the Georgia DNR to confirm the exact charges. A spokesman said the report will be available by the end of the week. As for the cubs, Bent Tree officials have asked for neighbors to not search for them, but report any activity to them by calling 770-893-2628. 'If you can get a video or picture from your vehicle or home without scaring them, please do so. We are focused on reports of one or two cubs. Max Verstappen shines amid Red Bull turmoil and Christian Horner's uncertain future

Photo: AFP Image: AFP The age old adage that 'where there's smoke, there's fire' comes to mind when rumours of Christian Horner's exit from Red Bull came to light. It could just be that an opposition team started a rumour to throw them off their game this season or that Red Bull's management in Austria are actually considering replacing the Englishman. If you had to plot Red Bull's performance since the last season, it would look like a downward trend with spikes of individual brilliance from Horner's golden boy Max Verstappen. But overall, the team has lost that edge it had in the 2022 and 2023 season, during which they dominated the sport. Not without reason, an integral part of Red Bull's outfit was stripped away when car designer Adrian Newey left them for Aston Martin. Newey's influence in Red Bull's dominant years could not be seen on the track as Verstappen was the one behind the wheel, but without him, the team have struggled since the start of the 2025 season. Signs of relief emerged at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, however, when Verstappen single handedly took apart the 'untouchable' McLarens with yet another bold overtake at Turn 1. It was a narrow track though, with few opportunities to overtake other than Turn 1, even if you're as gutsy as Oscar Piastri. Excuses aside, Verstappen's drive at Imola silenced any critics that they were unable to compete with McLaren this season. That is for the Driver championship at least, as they stand little to no chance for the Constructors title this year. Despite the win at Imola, reports from the F1 world indicate that Horner may lose the support of the Thai contingent within Red Bull if the upgrades they made at Imola do not prove successful for the remainder of the season. To say that Horner is under an immense deal of pressure to deliver right now, would be an understatement. What makes it worse is that Red Bull unfortunately have two drivers who have delivered points this year, and their from two separate teams. Isack Hadjar of the Racing Bulls has been the only other reliable driver this year, with Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson having a difficult season so far. Verstappen's class, skill and determination has given the Milton Keynes outfit some much needed breathing room with his wins at Imola and Suzuka. He's also shunned any rumours that Horner's head is on the chopping block. "Of course, I think naturally, as a team, we are not entirely happy with how we are performing, but we're also working on trying to be more competitive. "But if you ask everyone this question, I think no one is happy or satisfied with their performance, you always want to be better, you want to perform more. That's what we're trying to do. So, for me, these rumours don't mean anything,' Verstappen said. Pressure to deliver a fast car After the first quarter of the season, it was evident that McLaren were leaps and bounds of everyone else in the paddock - leaving Horner with little time to act decisively and make adjustments to the RB21. They started with small changes underneath the car, then adjusted the front and rear suspension in Miami. They've also redesigned the floor of the RB21 with more weight, which could improve the overall balance. Red Bull Chief Engineer Paul Monaghan said the changes will be incremental, but conceded that trying to come up with a cure for the RB21 may never fully rid it of the problems. 'It's going to be incremental improvements on the car. We understand what's happened, but actually affecting a cure is not that straightforward. It may never disappear from the car. 'Can we reduce the magnitude, and improve the lap time? Yes, there are a lot of clever people in Milton Keynes at work or are working hard to improve, and it will come,' Monaghan told an Italian F1 publication. Verstappen has managed to secure pole positions this season and with the Monaco Grand Prix up next, the importance of pole position could not be overstated. Both McLaren drivers, thankfully for Verstappen, don't have any real history of success there as yet, but Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc do. And with the Prancing Horse making some headway during the Imola race, a fight for pole with Ferrari may be on the cards for Verstappen. We can only wait and see what Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris has to offer.

He was banned for a year from ignoring a safety car to purposefully crash into a karting rival. He was later signed by both Red Bull and Williams' F1 driver academies and was axed by both. Ticktum has got a smile back on his face in Formula E though and has recalled his time in Red Bull's academy ahead of this weekend's double header in Tokyo. He said: "Red Bull has got their reputation for being quite ruthless. I understand how it operates and I quite like it. 'I don't necessarily agree with all the decisions. It's very black and white and if the results aren't on paper that's it really. 'Marko knows how to spot a good driver, he does get knocked for some of his harsher decisions. 'I had the year of F3 which was a very successful year. I was double world champion that year, some pretty political stuff went on there, I won't go into too much detail. Max Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull has been a hot-topic over the past few years with a series of brutal hiring and firings. Christian Horner's ruthless axing of Liam Lawson for Yuki Tsunoda after just two races this season showed he is still taking no prisoners. Ticktum felt the wrath of Horner and Helmut Marko when he was axed from the programme when he was driving for their junior team in Super Formula six-years ago. It was speculated that Ticktum would replace Brendon Hartley at Toro Rosso for the 2019 F1 season, but it was given to Daniil Kvyat. His Red Bull exit came shortly after stalling his car and spinning on a curb at Autopolis in qualifying before finishing the race in 15th. Wild rumours swirled that physically assaulted his engineer - which have since been put to bed by him. Ticktum has a glittering trophy cabinet and rubbed shoulders with Lando Norris in his karting days. His accolades include winning the Macau Grand Prix in 2017 and 2018, becoming the youngest winner at the event, and a McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner in 2017. He has several F2 victories to his name including a win at Silverstone in his rookie season and he finished fourth in the FIA F2 standings in 2021, with three victories. When asked about his battles with Norris during his karting days, he said: 'I remember having a rivalry with him in 2013 because we were both at Ricky Flynn. 'He was obviously an exceptional driver, he was particularly exceptional in karting that time because other people had started to grow. 'He was very, very light and you had to put lead on the car and you could bolt it to the bottom of the seat. 'He had a much lower centre of gravity than anyone plus he was very good, so he was very successful in karting. 'We were tit for tat for a little bit in that season and yeah I think it was pretty clear that me and him were the most talented people doing it at that time.' Ticktum is one of the stars of Formula E's new docu-series called Driver which is available to watch on Amazon. Ticktum was the culprit of a swear-laden rant in last season's race in Jeddah, screaming 'f***ing hell guys' at his team. When asked about the FIA's strict current rules on swearing, he said: 'If I give any answer I will end up with a £30,000 fine so no comment.' On the series, he added: 'The series is really cool. It's great to have more behind the scenes stuff. "I guess I've been edited to fit the mould of being villain, but people think I come across genuinely and tell truth which is what I am. "Hopefully if there is season two then if they follow this year again then there will be more episodes. "It's great for the championship. The deal is incredible with Amazon."
