North Lanarkshire road to close for more than two months
A busy road in North Lanarkshire is set to shut for more than two months.
North Lanarkshire Council has announced the temporary road closure order for Drumcavel Road, Muirhead.
The road will be closed from A752 Lochend Road to Avenuehead Road for essential works.
This closure will be in effect from 12.01am on Monday, August 11, until 11.59pm on Sunday, October 19.
The only vehicles allowed on the road during this time will be those involved in installing electricity services.

Pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained where possible during the closure, and local access will be maintained to Holms Farm.
Alternative routes have been specified via A752 Lochend Road, B804 Johnston Road, Glenboig Road, and Drumcavel Road.
The order was made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
North Lanarkshire Council stated that the closure is necessary due to works being carried out on or near the location.
