Oregon QB Luke Moga earns Ducks Wire MVP honors in 2025 Spring game

Oregon QB Luke Moga earns Ducks Wire MVP honors in 2025 Spring game Spring games in college football are a great way for young players and transfers to impress the coaching staff. The Oregon Ducks held their annual spring game Saturday afternoon where a bunch of players flashed off the screen. However, there can only be one MVP and that honor goes to quarterback Luke Moga. The redshirt freshman showed incredible poise in the pocket, standing tall and completing 6/13 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown against a fierce pass rush while also encountering some drops. When blitzes were thrown his way, Moga displayed amazing mobility by scrambling outside the pocket and breaking down the defense. Moga had two carries for 11 yards, but arguably his best play of the day was one that did not even count. In the second quarter there was quick pressure up the middle of the offensive line which forced the young quarterback to take off up the middle. To prevent injuries in an exhibition setting, plays are blown dead once the defense lays a hand on the quarterback. The whistle sounded as Moga was already bursting through the line of scrimmage and if the play occurred during the season, it likely would have resulted in a touchdown or at the very least a huge gain. Moga also showed off an impressive deep ball and though they did not all connect, he had great touch and length on the throws. There was a jaw-dropping throw he made to wide receiver Dillon Gresham over the middle for a 56-yard touchdown. All in all, Moga had a great game, and showed that he definitely has a hand to play in the quarterback competition for the Ducks this offseason.
