MUM'S THE WORD…though that may not be the case in everyone's book.

Sarah McInerney told RTÉ Radio 1′s Louise Duffy Show
that she received a message from a listener asking her not to use the word 'mum' – insisting that 'mammy' or 'mam' is the correct Irish term.

The listener added that the term 'mum' is an example of 'anglicisation,' which McInerney and programme host Ciara King disagreed with.
