Jessica Simpson reveals what it was REALLY like working with Kim Kardashian on upcoming TV show

Jessica Simpson has opened up about what it was like working alongside longtime friend Kim Kardashian on the upcoming Hulu drama series All's Fair. It was revealed that the singer, 44, will appear in the show when she made a surprise cameo in the trailer earlier this month. The blonde bombshell was briefly shown on the screen in a heated scene where she flung a drink on another character. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight this week, Jessica said working with the star of the series, 44-year-old Kim, felt 'natural.' 'Our kids are best friends. To be on set, it just felt kind of natural,' Simpson explained. 'It was fun to work together. She did all the lawyer talk, I did all the whining.' 'Filming All's Fair was incredible. I had a blast,' she also noted. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. While the details of Jessica's role are unknown, she revealed to the outlet that she underwent a long process to get camera-ready. 'I did eight hours of prosthetics, so it was very intense,' she teased before giving 'props to the prosthetics team.' The former MTV personality bragged that the makeup pros told her she had 'the most patience of anyone they've ever worked with.' And she assured future viewers, 'I really embody someone that I am not, so I was definitely acting.' Simpson's previous acting credits include starring as Daisy Duke in 2005's The Dukes of Hazzard, and appearing opposite Dane Cook in 2006's Employee of the Month. Following the shock cameo from the Texas-bred entertainer, fans took to social media to express their excitement. 'I love to see Jessica Simpson returning to acting. She's an underrated actress,' one person wrote on X. All's Fair was announced in December 2023 as the first series under Murphy's overall deal at Disney. It does not have an official premiere date, but will hit the streamer sometime this fall. The show follows Kim playing a powerful Los Angeles-based attorney who runs a successful women-led law firm. It was created by Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, who executive produced the series, along with Ryan, Kim, and her mom Kris Jenner. In addition to Jessica, Brooke Shields, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash are also part of the A-list cast. Halle Berry was previously on board, but had to exit the project due to a scheduling conflict. The show is rumored to be inspired by Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who represented Kim when her marriages to Kris Humphries and Kanye West ended.

How the US lost its southern accent

At the beginning of 1979 millions of Americans began following the adventures of two young men with quite convincing southern drawls as they outran and outwitted, in weekly TV episodes, a villainous county commissioner named Boss Hogg. Occasionally it was noted that the two actors were from New York and Wisconsin but they said 'he done' instead of 'he has' and you could be double dang sure that when they wished to do something, they would declare they were 'fixin' to' do it. It now appears that The Dukes of Hazzard was not just a hymn to moonshine and good ol' boys but marked, more or less, a high point in southern speech, in which 'prize' is pronounced with an 'ah' in the middle and

Jessica Simpson's, 44, daughter Maxwell, 13, towers over her mom as they are seen at airport amid divorce

's 13-year-old daughter Maxwell towered over her amid her divorce from Eric Johnson. The 44-year-old - who sent the tongues of fans wagging in a recent racy shoot - was seen at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Tuesday with her eldest daughter and mom Tina Ann Drew, 65. Maxwell already looks taller than her famous 5feet3 mother as they stood in line to check-in at the terminal and travel hub. Jessica looked every bit the celebrity as she sported a leopard patterned fur coat and large designer shades at the airport. Her blonde locks were worn down in a middle-part as she donned a full face of make-up topped off with shiny pink lip. Maxwell donned a pink hoodie as she held onto a black coat and a pair of Apple AirPods Max over-the-ear headphones. Jessica Simpson 's 13-year-old daughter Maxwell towered over her as they were seen at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Tuesday This comes weeks after Jessica and her other mini-me daughter Birdie modeled matching swimsuits to promote the star's new line which dropped at Walmart. The Dukes Of Hazzard actress - who was recently called out by trolls over her very plump lips - uploaded fun photos to Instagram Friday to show off pieces from the latest spring collection. In one picture, the TV personality and her youngest child, six, posed next to each other while standing on a wooden deck. Simpson donned a yellow, one-piece swimsuit with a plunging neckline on the front which can be purchased on the retailer's main website for $20. Birdie - who has previously appeared in campaigns for Jessica's clothing brand - wore a cutout swimsuit in the same mango-colored shade which is priced at $14. The mom-of-three slipped into a pair of dark red cowboy boots while her daughter wore a pair of pink boots. In another image, Simpson - who celebrated Birdie's sixth birthday last month - continued to model the stylish one-piece while sitting on top of a wooden picnic table. She accessorized the look with chained necklaces as well as flashy bracelets on each of her wrists. Jessica's makeup was glammed up for the snaps and comprised of voluminous lashes and smoky shadow around her eyes. Simpson continued to showcase other items from the collection and flaunted her toned figure in a $20 black ruffled bikini top as well as $16 coverup shorts. The singer - who notably dropped 100lbs amid her weight loss journey - also slipped into a pair of open-toed heels. Jessica gushed about having the chance to work with Birdie in the campaign. 'Being on set with my Birdie was so special!' she penned. 'There's just something magical about seeing my kids in front of the camera. 'It's beautiful to witness the confidence and playfulness my kids give in the moment. We had so much fun together. Birdie is a little ham!' Simpson told her followers that the six-year-old 'loves to be in the center of it all' and sweetly added, 'look out for this little lady, world! 'My kiddos make everything so real and authentic, which is exactly how I want my brand to be, so having them as part of it feels natural to me.' The actress concluded with, 'As for matching - it happens pretty often by accident, honestly. We seem to coordinate without even trying! I also love a good mommy-and-me look, and it's so cute when we can make it happen.' Jessica shares Birdie as well as Maxwell, 12, and Ace, 11, with estranged husband Eric Johnson. After tying the knot in 2014, the actress announced their split earlier this year in January. Back in 2020, both Birdie - who was a baby at the time - and Maxwell joined their mother in a campaign for her clothing brand. During an interview with People published on Friday, Jessica opened up about the new spring collection that is currently available at Walmart. 'For me, personally, style evolves as I do on a personal level, through each stage of my life.' She added, 'That's the inspiration for my music right now...[her new album] Nashville Canyon is an evolution of past, present, future, versatility, femininity, openness and confidence.' The TV personality officially dropped the EP last month on March 21 - which contains a total of five tracks including Use My Heart Against Me and Blame Me. 'I'm loving our florals and crochet details for all the spring flings and things! The swimsuits and sunnies are for a poolside day with the kids or lunch out with friends,' the star added of the collection. 'I wouldn't miss out on our denim separates. They are staple pieces year round,' she further said while adding that the line is 'joyful and gives sunny happy vibes. 'I absolutely do dress to boost my mood. When I wear something that feels really good, it lifts my energy, and that's what I want to give to everyone who wears the JS Collection.' The line is described as 'Sunny Cali-boho with Texas charm' - and offers items such as swimwear, denim pieces, dresses and accessories. It comes shortly after Simpson was seen reuniting with estranged husband Eric Johnson earlier this week on Monday just months after announcing their shock split. During the outing, the pair were joined by their three children as well as who appeared to be Johnson's parents. On her latest EP, the star seemingly hinted that Eric may have cheated on her in the track titled Leave. Some of the lyrics included: 'What we had was magic/Now you've made it tragic/Giving her what you gave to me/ Now the well that you drank from is empty.' Jessica also belted out, 'Your weakness made me lonely/Unholy matrimony/Did you do to her what you did to me/Was she on her knees/She's everything but me.' In January, the singer announced her split from Johnson in a statement to People and shared: 'Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. 'Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.' During an interview with People last month, she gave an update on their split and said, 'I've grown up so much. I can handle so much. Maybe I'm just meant to love a lot of people in my life.' The blonde beauty then told the outlet: 'I don't know why my heart gets tossed around but I'm one of the lucky ones. At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He's still very much a part of my life and will always be.' In regards to creating the album, Simpson explained, 'Discovering this music is something I did on my own. 'Thank God I had Nashville, it was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it,' the Dukes Of Hazzard actress continued.
