Brunei Sultan returns from Malaysia

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah safely returned to Brunei on Tuesday, according to a local media report.
According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin on Tuesday, the Sultan returned to Brunei with his consort, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, after meeting Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
According to Brunei's Prime Minister's Office, during the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings in Malaysia last month, the Sultan had been feeling tired and was therefore advised by the host country's medical experts to rest at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur for several days.
Brunei is a Sultanate located in the northern part of Borneo Island, with 346,500 citizens in 2024. The country is a major oil and gas producer in Southeast Asia.
