Primark's 'chic' £14 bag looks 'so similar' to £2,700 Loewe style
Primark shoppers can save £2,000 on a 'pretty' £14 style that looks similar to a designer bag Primark is selling a "pretty" £14 bag that resembles a designer style. The retailer is a firm favourite with high street shoppers looking for affordable fashion and accessories, and the Ruched Chain Strap Pouch Bag could be a new crowd-pleaser. The £14 Primark pouch bag is available in ecru or burgundy, and the red style looks similar to a pricier alternative by designer brand Loewe. However, Loewe's Medium Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin is priced much higher at £2,700. The designer style is available in more than ten colours, including a sea salt shade comparable to Primark's ecru bag, though the burnt red arguably looks the most similar to Primark's offering. The bags are very similar in design, with a deep red tone, rouched shape, knot detailing, and gold chain. However, the Loewe chain is red and gold, whereas the Primark chain is only one colour. The Loewe bag has a detachable leather strap, and it is made from nappa lambskin with suede lining. Conversely, Primark's bag is finished with a leather-look effect, but it is made from 50 per cent polyester and 50 per cent polyurethane. Primark's product description explains: "Summer style? It's in the bag! Upgrade your new season accessories edit with this pretty pouch bag. "Made from a soft faux leather, this bag has a luxe look and feel that's perfect for evenings spent out on the town. The pouch style is super chic, meanwhile the gold-toned chain strap handle adds to its polished look and feel. A must-have piece you'll reach for on repeat, it's here to carry you through this season and beyond!" Loewe's product description says: "The Flamenco purse is a lightweight and soft bag with a ruched shape, historical knot drawstrings and a donut chain. This medium version is crafted in mellow nappa lambskin." The designer brand also offers a Mini Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin for £2,200 and a Large Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin for £3,200. While the listing for the Primark bag does not include dimensions, it is at least £2,000 cheaper than each designer bag. You can check availability at your nearest store here. Alternatively, shoppers looking for a similar style from another retailer might prefer Dune London's Leather Drawstring Bag, on offer from £159 to £79. While it looks similar to both the Primark and Loewe bags, it differs in that it is made from leather but has a recycled synthetic lining, and there are other design differences. Debenhams' 'gorgeous' £95 sandals that are comfy 'all day' now £42
Debenhams has slashed the price of a popular pair of sandals, getting style-conscious consumers ready for the upcoming warm weather. The retailer is no stranger to reducing costs on items ranging from clothes and designer accessories to items for the home and garden. A particular pair that might become this season's hit among fashion devotees are the Dune London 'Loells' Sandals, with the price dramatically cut from £95 down to £42.75. The trendy sandals come in a neutral shade and various sizes, though shoppers should act fast as some sizes have already sold out. The product description on the website reads: "Refresh warm-weather ensembles with minimal sandal Loells. Crafted from the finest material, the upper of this square-toed silhouette culminates in two wide straps, each enhanced with large buckles. "Set on a flatform sole that rises to a wearable 4cm height, this versatile sandal pairs equally well with everything from denim to sundresses and is finished with a lined footbed that promises all-day comfort," reports the Mirror. Shoppers have given the sandals glowing endorsements, evidencing their popularity, with reviews praising their design and comfort. Despite a lack of reviews directly on Debenhams' own site, one customer elsewhere remarked: "Good quality, stylish and comfortable." Another gushed about their purchase, writing: "Gorgeous sandals. Super soft leather, not needed to break them in, very comfy." But it wasn't all positive, as some buyers reported problems. One customer expressed disappointment, stating: "Look lovely but didn't last long at all. Inside strap broke after just wearing 3/4 times just walking to work!" Another added to the mixed reviews by saying: "Lovely sandal and very comfy. I brought these for my holiday but the second time I wore them the sole became unstuck. Not really what you would expect from a £95 pair of shoes." Alternatively, New Look offers the Mink Suedette Flat Sandals priced at £27.99; ASOS has reduced the Topshop Premium Kimberley leather flat sandal in off white to £66.30, a marked down from its original £78 price tag; while River Island features the Brown Embroidered Sandals at a comfortable £48.
