Primark's 'chic' £14 bag looks 'so similar' to £2,700 Loewe style
Primark is selling a "pretty" £14 bag that resembles a designer style. The retailer is a firm favourite with high street shoppers looking for affordable fashion and accessories, and the Ruched Chain Strap Pouch Bag could be a new crowd-pleaser.
The £14 Primark pouch bag is available in ecru or burgundy, and the red style looks similar to a pricier alternative by designer brand Loewe. However, Loewe's Medium Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin is priced much higher at £2,700.
The designer style is available in more than ten colours, including a sea salt shade comparable to Primark's ecru bag, though the burnt red arguably looks the most similar to Primark's offering. The bags are very similar in design, with a deep red tone, rouched shape, knot detailing, and gold chain.
However, the Loewe chain is red and gold, whereas the Primark chain is only one colour. The Loewe bag has a detachable leather strap, and it is made from nappa lambskin with suede lining.
Conversely, Primark's bag is finished with a leather-look effect, but it is made from 50 per cent polyester and 50 per cent polyurethane. Primark's product description explains: "Summer style? It's in the bag! Upgrade your new season accessories edit with this pretty pouch bag.
"Made from a soft faux leather, this bag has a luxe look and feel that's perfect for evenings spent out on the town. The pouch style is super chic, meanwhile the gold-toned chain strap handle adds to its polished look and feel. Loewe's product description says: "The Flamenco purse is a lightweight and soft bag with a ruched shape, historical knot drawstrings and a donut chain. This medium version is crafted in mellow nappa lambskin."
The designer brand also offers a Mini Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin for £2,200 and a Large Flamenco purse in mellow nappa lambskin for £3,200.
While the listing for the Primark bag does not include dimensions, it is at least £2,000 cheaper than each designer bag. You can check availability at your nearest store here.
Alternatively, shoppers looking for a similar style from another retailer might prefer Dune London's Leather Drawstring Bag, on offer from £159 to £79. While it looks similar to both the Primark and Loewe bags, it differs in that it is made from leather but has a recycled synthetic lining, and there are other design differences.

CHOOSING what to wear on a date can be tricky - but maybe you should be paying more attention to the colour than the style. A Personal Stylist and Colour Theorist has revealed the surprising psychology of colour when it comes to first impressions, attraction, and yes, getting a second date. 5 5 Donna Cameron, who teamed up with Fashion brand Gingham & Heels, shared: 'Clothing is communication. 'And colour is one of the most powerful parts of that. 'If you feel awkward in what you're wearing, it shows. But if you feel great, it shows even more.' So which ones will give you the greatest chance of success on a date… AVOID RED Red might be the universal colour of love, but according to the leading colour theorist, wearing it on a first date could be a mistake. While red is linked to power and passion, Donna said it is 'risky' and doesn't suit everyone. It could also send the wrong message, as it is linked to 'power'. EYE COLOUR TRICK A simple but powerful trick to appear more magnetic is to wear your eye colour, as it 'draws people in instantly.' Donna shared: 'The best colour to wear on a date really depends on your individual colouring. 'But a simple tip? Wear the colour of your eyes as it always makes them pop and draws people in. FORGETTABLE HUES So what's worse than black? Grey and beige may make you blend in too much and be 'forgettable.' 'Muted greys and washed-out neutrals,' says Donna. 'They often signal that someone doesn't want to stand out, which isn't the message you want to send on a first date.' COLOURS TO AVOID 5 Donna also warns against divisive shades like orange and purple. She said: 'People tend to love them or hate them; there's not much middle ground. And that strong reaction might not work in your favour.' However, the stylist said that despite this, she said it is most important to opt for colours that make you feel good. She added: 'Wear colours that make you feel good. Confidence is always the best outfit.' DRESS FOR YOUR VIBE Beyond just matching your personal colouring, Donna suggests thinking about the vibe you want to give off. 'If you're going for a soft, feminine feel, light pastel tones are perfect,' she says. 'Want to come across as elegant and put-together? 'Try deeper shades like burgundy or olive. 'And if you're aiming for something more fun and high-energy, bright, bold colours can help you look more open and approachable.' Primark's £14 floral mini dress will be 'perfect for holidays'
The trendy pattern has caught attention online as being ideal for the warm summer weather People have been planning a trip to Primark after seeing an outfit that has been called a 'perfect holiday dress'. And, to make things even better, it costs less than £20, making the stylish piece something very affordable for anyone who's due a summer wardrobe refresh. The Hibiscus Strappy Mini Dress features two bold flowers against a solid black or white background. Each option costs just £14 and can be picked up in store only at the moment. Bosses at the fashion chain added: "Big plans? This mini's got you covered. This strappy mini dress comes in classic white with bold pink hibiscus prints that pop against the fabric — one sitting proudly on the bodice and another blooming near the hem. "Designed with a clean square neckline and slender straps, it's chic, stylish and ready to take centre stage in your wardrobe. Pair it with sandals for daytime plans or swap them for a stiletto when you want to dance all night long." The Primark website does offer shopper the availability tool to check if their preferred style and size will be in stock at their local branch of the discount fashion store.. Sizes range from XXS to XXL, which works out in traditional dress sizes as a range between a 4 and 24. People were quick to comment on the dress when it was showcased online by TikTok user Orla ( @orlanoone). While showing off both versions of the dress, she wrote: "New in Primark. Perfect for holidays". One said: " I really want to try this!" Another added: "The floral is so stunning!" A third wrote: "They'd be lovely on holiday." In the comments, there were a few complaints about the short dress not being to everyone's taste - but they loved the pattern. Someone put: "If only its was maxi!" And another added: "Wish it was a bit longer!" Well, to make sure most fans are catered to, Primark also offers the same style in a £20 co-ord that features a mesh vest top (£8) and a maxi-length skirt (£12). At the time of writing, it's only showing online in the black and red version but videos on TIkTok show that there is a white and pink version available. Making this two seperate pieces, shoppers can buy the whole set or mix and match to suit their taste. Some suggested pairing the top with a casual part of denim shorts and others were planning to wear a plain top to help the bold floral skirt stand out more.
