Neverwinter MMO Adding New Module Inspired By The D&D Movie
Neverwinter: Red Harvest Arc Games Today, Arc Games revealed the next upcoming module for the Neverwinter MMO is named Red Harvest and it features a brand-new Adventure Zone with maps directly inspired by the excellent (and underrated) Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film. Taking notes from the film, this new module will depict the Red Wizards of Thay as you help lead a resistance movement alongside Sergeant Knox and the Harpers. The main draw of this module will be the new Adventure Zone: Tyraturos, Tower District. Verticality will play a key role here as you traverse multiple neighborhoods and ascend a massive tower, completing quests. There's also a new Trial, Shackles of Divinity, which is described as a 'return to the epic, mechanics-driven boss battles that define Neverwinter's most legendary trials,' so that should be a big hit for fans. You'll be able to play this new trial on either Normal mode, which is included in the random trial queue for matchmaking, Advanced Mode, which is a little bit harder, and Master Mode, which puts a heavy emphasis on mastering the trial's mechanics with heavily ramped up difficulty. On top of all the new content, there is of course a slew of new things to buy if you so desire like a new BattlePass dubbed Dead to Rites, various Red Harvest bundles and packs, as well as generalized bundles with other cosmetics and perks. Neverwinter: Red Harvest Arc Games Personally, it's been a while since I played Neverwinter. I remember when the game first launched years ago and sinking a ton of time into the main campaign, returning for some new classes over the years, and dabbling in it here and there over time. There's just a ton of content at this point to sink your teeth into and it's always had a good reputation. The ability to drop-in and out over time without feeling like you're wasting money or shirking a commitment is a big part of what makes free-to-play MMOs appealing. I'm definitely not a 'one-game-only' kind of a guy. One of the main things that always appealed to me about Neverwinter is that they do a wonderful job of capturing the tone and feel of the Forgotten Realms, but it doesn't get bogged down in trying to stick to the rulesets of tabletop Dungeons & Dragons too strictly. Combat is more action-packed and fast-paced than a typical D&D video game, but they've still adapted the rules to include the features you'd expect. It's just a very solid and easy to pick-up-and-play interpretation with fun gameplay. The new Red Harvest module launches for Neverwinter on May 6 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

In a recent interview promoting his new film Black Bag, Page revealed that while he has immense support for the cast, he is currently focusing on his evolving career rather than a return to Bridgerton. 'I'm very happy to support everyone who's in the show,' Page shared with Entertainment Tonight. 'Everyone's finding fantastic success, but with the show and personal projects, I'm just super happy to say that.' His comments highlight his ongoing support for the Bridgerton cast, despite shifting his focus to other projects. The Monopoly movie is on its way: How is this a good idea?
From the plastic, fantastic world of Barbie to the two-dimensional capitalist hellscape of Monopoly. Can they make the board game movie work? ADVERTISEMENT Ever fear that Hollywood is running out of original ideas and scraping the barrel? Well, this news won't assuage any sense of consternation. A live action Monopoly movie has been announced, with studio Lionsgate and Margot Robbie's production company LuckyChap reportedly closing a deal for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. According to Deadline, the duo behind the recent Dungeons & Dragons movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, has been chosen to pen a screenplay based on Hasbro's classic board game. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. There have been rumours over the years that Ridley Scott was attached to create a comedy based on the game. In 2019, Kevin Hart was set as lead with Tim Story directing. But it was not to be. Then, Lionsgate extended its development rights to the board game with its purchase of eOne, which was completed in December 2023. 'We knew LuckyChap would be a beacon for the best talent in town, and Lionsgate & Hasbro are thrilled that Goldstein & Daley have decided to join the fun,' said Erin Westerman, co-president, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. 'We've been longtime admirers of their work - telling bold, original, intelligent stories for all audiences. They are the perfect architects for this franchise.' It's still unclear how LuckyChap plan to spin a narrative story from the world of Monopoly. However, considering the company behind hit films such as Promising Young Woman and Saltburn is still high on the success of its biggest coup, 2023's Barbie, they'll be trying to recapture some of that same buzz. Monopoly Canva Predictably, the reactions online have been mixed, with the majority of online fans saying: Do not pass Go. 'How TF do you make a movie about Monopoly? What's next, Hungry Hungry Hippos' one X user stated, while another asked: 'What is the plot even gonna be about?' One user questioned the relevance of the game in modern culture. 'How are they gonna do this? WHY are they gonna do this? I asked some young folks if they played Monopoly or Yahtzee, and they said 'What?'. Never heard of either. Who will pay to see a Monopoly movie?' One board game enthusiast declared: 'MONOPOLY IS A GAME NOT A MOVIE'. Still, there were some positive responses... 'Margot Robbie is producing, this might actually be good', said one fan, followed by some casting ideas: 'Which actors should play Mr. Monopoly? My money's on Bryan Cranston or Paul Giamatti.' So, what do you think? Collect 200 or go straight to (movie) jail? ADVERTISEMENT LuckyChap will most likely want to apply the same approach they did with Barbie. They added some existential dread to everyone's favourite doll, so maybe the best-case scenario for Monopoly: The Movie is that it turns out as a sly critique of consumer capitalism and the system's exploitative practices. That might work. And before everyone gets the pitchforks out, let's not forget that the announcement of a film based on Mattel's biggest property was initially met with derision, and Barbie went on to make over $1.4bn at the global box office and was nominated for eight Oscars. Can they catch lighting in a bottle a second time with one of the world's most popular board games? Possibly. Or Monopoly: The Movie could be some sort of sick self-fulfilling prophecy sullying the good name of a game originally intended to criticise capitalism, and further proof that the risk-averse bean counters in Hollywood are only interested in cynically squeezing out every last nostalgia-bait drop from their assets. Whatever awaits us, two things are certain: ADVERTISEMENT It can't be worse than the Taylor Kitsch / Liam Neeson-starring board game movie Battleship. Surely not... Expect the cinematic treatment of Hungry Hungry Hippos to be greenlit next.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to Write ‘Monopoly' for Lionsgate
Lionsgate has closed a deal for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to write a screenplay based on Hasbro's classic board game 'Monopoly,' Lionsgate announced on Wednesday. The project is produced by LuckyChap and Hasbro Entertainment. Lionsgate extended its development rights to the beloved, multi-generational board game with its purchase of eOne, which was completed in December 2023. 'Monopoly' is recognized as the world's most popular board game brand, with a 99% global awareness rate. The beloved strategy game is available in more than 100 countries across the globe and has sold nearly half a billion copies since its debut in 1935. 'We knew LuckyChap would be a beacon for the best talent in town, and Lionsgate & Hasbro are thrilled that Goldstein and Daley have decided to join the fun,' Erin Westerman, co-president, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement. 'We have been long time admirers of their work—telling bold, original, intelligent stories for all audiences. They are the perfect architects for this franchise.' James Myers is overseeing the project for Lionsgate. Robert Melnik negotiated the deal on behalf of the studio. Daley and Goldstein most recently wrote and directed their original feature, 'Mayday,' starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh for Apple TV+ and Skydance. Prior to that, they wrote and directed the critically acclaimed 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.' They are repped by CAA, Fourth Wall Management, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman and Meigs and Fox. Deadline first reported the news.
