District Collector Anudeep Durishetty in a review with officials of the Education department instructed 100% distribution of school uniforms and textbooks to students. Teachers and school staff must also ensure the premises are suitably decorated to welcome parents and students on June 12, he said. It was said that 1,03,912 pair of school uniforms, over 9.63 lakh textbooks, and over 6.25 lakh notebooks, are ready for distribution on the day. Mr. Durishetty also instructed officials to install the Badi Bata application to monitor enrolment and distribution of material. Under Anganwadi Bata programme, he said a large campaign must be taken up to ensure admission of two-year-old children. Centres operating from rented premises must also be moved to nearby government schools, he said.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services preliminary examination 2025 concluded smoothly here on Sunday. For a total of 43,676 registered candidates, the number of candidates who attended both paper 1 General Studies and paper 2 CSAT was 25,787. The number of candidates that remained absent for the first session from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. itself was 40% (or 17,644 candidates). Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty visited examination centres set up at University College of Science at Saifabad, the centre for 123 visually impaired candidates, and the Government Women's College at Begumpet, and took stock of the arrangements, attendance and adherence to exam rules and conduct. Mr. Durishetty, earlier in the day, also inspected the strong room for storage of exam-related material set up at Basheerbagh, and oversaw the distribution. 'Difficult paper' According to UPSC exam trainers and observers, the preliminary question paper was understood to have been set as difficult. As per a breakdown, the maximum share of 16 questions each was from the history of India and the Indian National Movement and Indian polity and governance. There were 15 questions on economic and social development. About a dozen questions each were from Indian and world geography, environmental ecology and current affairs, said V. Gopalakrishna of coaching institute Braintree.
