Under Anganwadi Bata programme, he said a large campaign must be taken up to ensure admission of two-year-old children. Centres operating from rented premises must also be moved to nearby government schools, he said.

Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty on Thursday urged parents to ensure 100% classroom attendance for their children and encouraged students to pursue academic excellence with determination. Speaking to the students at Syed Murtuza Hussaini Memorial Government Upper Primary School at Langar Houz in Golconda, the Collector said the Telangana government has been prioritising public education by investing crores of rupees to improve infrastructure and learning outcomes in government schools. The Collector also distributed uniforms and books to the students. 'Education is the real jewel. No matter how much wealth one has, without education, it is meaningless,' he said, addressing students and parents. He pointed out that each student of a government school in the State benefits from government expenditure of over ₹1 lakh annually, covering uniforms, teacher salaries, midday meals, textbooks, notebooks, and workbooks. He also appealed to parents to spread awareness about the facilities available at government schools and motivate them to enrol their children. 'We want to see an increase in new admissions under the Badi Bata (Back to School) campaign,' he said.

Vijayawada: As the 2025-26 academic year begins on Thursday, schools across Andhra Pradesh are buzzing with excitement. Following instructions from State IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, the education department has made elaborate arrangements to mark the reopening day with a grand celebration. As per the official date, a total of 58,950 schools, including 44,617 govt schools, 13,249 private recognized schools, and 84 private-aided schools, will simultaneously reopen on Thursday. To welcome students back, the govt has launched a statewide programme called 'Badibata.' As part of this initiative, teachers will greet students with enthusiasm and provide them with specially prepared school kits containing textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, shoes, belts, and other essential supplies. Teachers will also introduce students to the new class curriculum through orientation sessions. In addition to the festivities, the education department is taking steps to address the issue of school dropouts. Headmasters and class teachers will conduct a review of admissions and dropouts, verifying how many new students have joined and investigating reasons behind any withdrawals. Lists of non-recognized schools will be publicly released in each district. Guntur DEO CV Renuka emphasized that the approach will be child-friendly, focusing on making the transition from vacation to school enjoyable and stress-free. "We want school reopening to be memorable for every child," she said. "Our approach is child-friendly—gradually introducing students to learning through games and songs."
