Dustin Fields, 43, was arrested on Thursday and charged with first-degree arson, Chief Dwayne Depp tells PEOPLE. Fields was not present at the scene when officers arrived but showed up a few minutes later, Depp says. He was arrested after he allegedly gave 'conflicting information' to investigators, Depp tells PEOPLE, declining to comment further about the reason behind his arrest. Dustin also allegedly had an accelerant on his shoes, which were located in different parts of the home, notably near the boys' bodies, according to an arrest citation, The State Journal, WLKY and WHAS 11 reported. Franklin County Regional Jail Dustin Fields Dustin Fields Dustin appeared on Zoom during a Franklin County court on Monday and entered a plea of not guilty, per LEX 18, WHAS 11 and The State Journal. He reportedly asked a judge if he could be temporarily released to attend his sons' funerals, but it was not granted, per WLKY, WTVQ and The State Journal. He told the judge: 'I miss my boys,' WTVQ and WHAS 11 reported. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues, Depp says. Coroner identifies boys recovered from Frankfort house fire
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Franklin County Coroner William Harrod has identified the bodies found inside what's left of a Flat Creek Road home after a fire investigators believe was intentionally set. According to Harrod, the remains were those of 13-year-old Bently Maxwell Fields and 15-year-old Rylan Austin Fields. 1 charged in connection with Franklin County house fire that killed 2 teens
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Frankfort man has been charged with arson after a deadly fire killed two Franklin County teens. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office hosted a news conference on Thursday to give an update on a fire investigation. 2 teenagers killed in Franklin County house fire The sheriff's office said 44-year-old Dustin Fields is charged with first-degree arson and has been lodged in the Franklin County regional jail. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office told FOX 56 that crews were called to the scene around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. They found a house across the creek in flames. Officials said two teenage boys were found dead inside, and no one else was in the home.
