Newcastle Knights v Manly Sea Eagles: NRL live scores, updates, SuperCoach analysis

The Sea Eagles' most consistent trait has been their inconsistency in 2025. For that reason, fans should expect the unexpected when they come up against an out-of-form Newcastle Knights side. While the Sea Eagles go into the fixture as favourites, it's anyone's game, with the Knights boosted by the return of Kalyn Ponga in fullback, while No.22 Greg Marzhew is a chance of a late inclusion. SuperCoaches have gone in hard with Manly transfers this week, but there's plenty of popular Knights gearing up for action as well, making this an appetising match-up. Sea Eagles: • Lehi Hopoate ($676,000) – The second most transferred-in player this week in SuperCoach. Has been dynamite this season, coming off a ton last week at fullback in the absence of Tom Trbojevic. With the No.1 on his back again, his new owners will be hoping for a repeat performance on the road. • Haumole Olakau'atu ($607,400) – Has over 2,000 new owners this week after a cool 91 points against the Broncos, bringing his ownership up to 32.6%. Knights: • Dylan Lucas ($740,500) – A drop off from his whopping 82.4 average last week, scoring just 52. Owners will be hoping he can return to form with a home crowd behind him. • Fletcher Sharpe (705,800) – Like Lucas, experienced a drop in scoring last week at just 45. at an ownership of just over 30%, he's another Knights star we're hoping can bounce back.

Panthers' season from hell gets worse as enforcer Liam Henry banned for nasty crusher tackle

Panthers enforcer Liam Henry has been slapped with a two-game ban after being sin-binned and placed on report for a crusher tackle on Knights fullback Fletcher Sharpe. In the 22nd minute with the Knights leading 18-0 in Bathurst, Henry appeared to lift Sharpe up in a tackle and push down on the back of his neck, which drew a penalty. After intervention from the Bunker, referee Belinda Sharpe called Henry out for further punishment. 'You have got a grip you lift him up and then you put pressure down,' referee Sharpe said. 'It is on report and it's in the bin.' Commentsator Andrew Voss had no issue with the decision due to the NRL's tough stance on crusher tackles. 'That's the tackle that we are trying to stamp out,' Voss said. 'If there is any sort of re-grip or second motion if you will. 'Liam Henry finds himself in the bin and Sharpe goes off the field for Newcastle.' Off the ensuing set, Dylan Lucas scored a try to make it a hat-trick for the star back-rower and give the Knights a commanding 24-0 lead. Henry will be rubbed out for two matches should he take the early guilty plea.

Dylan Lucas hat-trick leads Knights to belting of the reigning champs

Origin-hit Penrith sunk to a new low on Saturday night, with the four-time champions condemned to the bottom of the NRL ladder by the struggling Newcastle Knights. The Panthers had improved since their horror start to the season, winning twice and fighting out a draw from their past four matches. But they were never in the hunt at Carrington Park in Bathurst, succumbing 25-6 to their fellow battlers, with Dylan Lucas grabbing a hat-trick for the Knights. FOX LEAGUE, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every game of every round in the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership, LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Limited-time offer > Missing key weapons Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Dylan Edwards, Brian To'o and Liam Martin as they prepare for battle for the Blues on Wednesday night, and with Luke Garner and Isaiah Papali'i out injured, the Panthers rolled out only seven members from last year's grand final-winning team. Still, coach Ivan Cleary would have expected a better showing from his troops. The Knight's meanwhile entered the clash in utter disarray, having won just one of their last eight games. They were also without star fullback Kalyn Ponga and injured trio Bradman Best, Jacob Saifiti and Greg Marzhew. But a sizzling attacking display from Fletcher Sharpe and a three try effort from powerhouse backrower Lucas led them to victory at a sold out Carrington Park, snapping a 10-game losing streak against the Panthers. Sharpe was impossible to catch, making four line breaks and 18 tackle busts, while running for 284 metres. Lucas was too hot to handle, especially in the first half, splitting the line three times and scoring a maiden career hat-trick. It took less than five minutes for Newcastle to open the scoring when regular five-eighth Sharpe, playing at fullback in the absence of Origin-bound Ponga, muscled his way over. Lucas powered over inside 10 minutes to give the Knights a 12-0 lead and when the hulking backrower crossed again 90 seconds later, the reigning premiers were staring down the barrel of a shellacking. When Panthers backrower Liam Henry was sin binned and put on report for a crusher tackle in the 23rd minute, the floodgates looked set to explode, and Lucas had his third in 15 minutes. 'First hat-trick of the career of Dylan Lucas. Incredible, what a crazy year,' Andrew Voss said. He almost bagged a fourth a minute before halftime after a 40m break, only to drop the ball over the line and at the break the Knights led 24-0. To their credit, the Panthers tried valiantly in the second half as the Knights descended into mediocrity, but the game was put to bed in the opening 40 minutes. In a first half of highlights for the Knights there was also some disappointment with Adam Elliott suffering a serious arm injury. Elliott tore his bicep midway through the period and could be out for 10-12 weeks. It is a massive blow for the middle forward, who has missed plenty of footy over the last few years with a serious groin injury in 2023 and multiple calf-related issues at the end of last season and earlier this year.
