Here's why the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x is worth investing in
If all adages are to be believed, good things come in threes. Unless you're Dyson. Of course, this comes as no surprise considering the technology powerhouse's trajectory into global recognition—the brand is synonymous with foregoing convention in favour of achieving unprecedented breakthroughs. This time is no exception. The magic number heralding Dyson's latest critical juncture Two. In fact, its significance is notable enough that it is actually found within the name of its newest innovation. Enter the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x. 'We call it the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x because of the new motor it is equipped with. The Hyperdymium 2 is our fastest and most powerful hair care motor yet. Because of it, this iteration of the Airwrap is able to deliver twice the air pressure,' explains Freddy Howe, senior design and development manager at Dyson. 'What this means is that you can expect faster drying times and less heat damage, as well as for curly and straight styles to last longer than before.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dyson Beauty (@dysonbeauty) Call it kismet, but it is on this very day that I find myself in a position to test Howe's claims. I am at the Dyson farms located in Lincolnshire. It is a Wednesday afternoon and I am victim to a sudden shower that descends with surprising speed after a dry stretch. With a small degree of apprehension, I reach for one of the many devices available on hand. The difference is discernible immediately—this version is smaller and lighter, while also being remarkably easier to manoeuvre. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to its list of improvements. At first brush I kick things with the Fast Dryer 2x attachment. Its enhanced motor means my hair goes from damp to dry in 10 minutes; a feat which previously was only achievable with the Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer. I snap on the 20mm Co-anda2x Curling Barrel after and begin the process of letting my strands catch and curl along the cylindrical vessel. Tight, precise curls result from this. This is very much necessary for my fine, thin hair, which the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x is designed to remember thanks to the inclusion of smart sensor technology. According to Howe, this is because each device comes with an RFID chip that communicates with the gadget. It notes down and, thus, pushes out the best temperature and airflow settings for your mane. When it comes to the curling barrels specifically, a set sequence activates to help users attain consistent curls. Once you indicate your preference in the MyDyson app, the Airwrap Co-anda2x automatically adjusts heat and airflow to wrap, set and release the perfect curl with every use. Minor inconveniences we typically withstand are priority pain points to the brand; challenges to overcome to grant a seamless, intuitive experience for users. Looking forward, never back It's safe to say that this is precisely the ethos that serves as the bedrock of Dyson's identity. I feel this most keenly upon trying out the all-new Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x AirSmooth2x attachment on another section of my hair. It comprises two contact bars that emit jets of high-velocity air to straighten and smooth strands. Upon completing a full pass through locks, the arms of the attachment automatically unclamp to drop the section of hair, now sleek and lustrous as a sheet of glass. A simple motion that is devastatingly effective in how it eradicates the possibility of user error. Funnily enough, déjà vu hits moments later standing within the 11-hectare glasshouse. Sustainable farming is another sector the innovation-led corporation aims to explore in a bid to reduce environmental impact and feed people better. Strawberries act as its debut venture into this space. The environment in which the fruit grows is meticulously controlled, leaving nothing to chance. A climate control computer system regulates the temperature in the glasshouse to maintain optimal growing conditions. Robots wielding sensors and cameras identify bruising and imperfections on all strawberries, selecting only the best-quality ones. Advanced LED lighting creates the impression of a never-ending summer that is perfect for crop growth. Distantly, I hear the whirr of another machine starting up, ready to continue its revolutionary work. A Dyson rep steps in without missing a beat, beaming. 'Sure,' she states, plopping a bright red berry into my waiting palm. 'It makes sense that you feel this way because we're constantly gleaning inspiration from each other within the Dyson ecosystem—no matter the sector or type of product.' Is looking inward perhaps the secret to being at the forefront of the beauty tech field? Perhaps. Dyson, in any case, is living proof.

Dyson just dropped a new Airwrap with a game-changing straightening attachment
There's a new Airwrap in town. The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x brings some massive changes to Dyson's existing line of hair styling products, adding a straightening attachment and custom app-compatibility, all within a lighter and more powerful design. Launching July 1st and available for purchase on July 8th at the Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2x retails for $699.99 in the U.S. and £599.99 in the U.K. markets. For the price, you'll get six attachments with purchase, and they're all RFID-enabled to automatically adjust airflow and temperature for optimal performance when you switch your styler. Best of all, the new straightening attachment uses the same wet-to-dry styling tech that Dyson pioneered with its Airstrait, but in a significantly more compact frame. We'll be testing the Co-anda 2x in the weeks to come, but here's everything we know about Dyson's latest drop. "Dyson has developed a new motor for our new Airwrap2x, which spins at 150,000rpm, delivering twice the air pressure, faster drying, and less heat damage. The high pressure creates a longer-lasting curl or straighter styles." Perhaps the biggest game-changer in this styling tool is its new Hyperdymium 2 motor, which delivers twice the air pressure as the original model, and 30% more power for speedy and sleek styling. One of my favorite features of the Airwrap is its low noise levels, and Dyson claims that the new Hyperdymium motor will double the air pressure while maintaining the same noise levels as the original Airwrap. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Using precision engineering, the motor can spinup to 150,000rpm, or nine times faster than a Formula 1 car engine. Available in either a Straight / Wavy or Curly / Coily configuration, the Airwrap2x can be used to dry, curl, wave, straighten, smooth, and add volume with its complete range of attachments. As someone with curly hair, I'm particularly excited to use the diffuser, although the genius addition of a wet-to-dry straightening attachment could end up replacing my beloved Dyson Airstrait. Better yet, the brand uses new Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) which will automatically adjust your settings to suit each attachment to your styling needs, and deliver optimal results for all hair types. We got hands-on with Dyson's AI styling tech when we tested the Airwrap i.d., and while our writer Erin initially thought it was total overkill, she quickly realised that while it's not an essential feature, the ability to learn how to use your styling tool from an app, as opposed to YouTube videos or Reddit, is a win. "It's about creating exciting, long-lasting styles using smarter, more efficient technology." The Airwrap2x uses one-touch i.d. curl technology to allow users to customize their own styling sequence. In effect, this means it will tell you how long to spend on styling each curl, and when to switch to a cold shot to lock in your style. I never thought the Airwrap was too heavy, but I'm not complaining that Dyson has made it even lighter and more maneuverable. The only downside from what I can see, is the astonishingly high price. We'll be testing the Airwrap2x in the weeks to come, but in the meantime, shoppers can sign up for pre-sale now at ahead of its release in stores on July 8th.

The leading haircare giant has announced its best hair tool for styling and drying with a faster motor and lighter attachments Dyson's most awarded hair styler is getting an upgrade later this year, launching Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x multi-styler and dryer with new motor that "spins nine times faster than a Formula 1 car engine". The new Airwrap, available in both Jasper Plum and Ceramic Pink, makes a styling routine easier while protecting hair from heat damage. The tool is embedded with smart sensor technology including an RFID chip in each attachment to instantly adapt to the best temperature and airflow settings. The new Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x multi-styler and dryer, priced at £579.99, will be made available to purchase in September and shoppers can sign up here to receive a notification when it becomes ready for sale. Comparing this to the Airwrap id styler (available at £479.99), the new invention is smaller and lighter and each set includes six premium attachments and presented in a Dyson-designed case. The Straight + Wavy set comes with a 30mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, AirSmooth2x attachment and fast dryer 2x. For the Curly + Coily set, shoppers will recieve a 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, tension comb 2x, Wave+Curl diffuser 2x and fast dryer 2x. The new and improved motor shortens the time required to curl and it's faster to create tight, voluminous and loose curls with 30% more product power and two times more air pressure. The new anti-snag loop brush has new hook bristles mean for increased control nearer the root while providing comfort on the scalp. To straighten hair, shoppers can use the AirSmooth 2x attachment - two non-heated contact bars with two jets of high velocity air to create a hair straightening effect with less frizz. When a full tress pass is completed, the arms automatically unclamp to release hair. The trailer video has quickly drawn fans' attention as one view guessed: "Oh looks like a blow dryer, a new smooth brush, round brush, curler… and is that a straightener attachment?" Another joked: "I mean, three months ago I bought the Airstrait, I also own Airwrap and Supersonic, please stop, I have no more place in my flat." Meanwhile, those who want to spend less on a Dyson hair tool can look at the brand's Refurbished section online. The refurbished Dyson Airwrap with complete long volumise has been marked down from £399.99 to £349.99. Undoubtedly a Dyson hair tool is an investment, I bought the first generation Dyson airwrap five years ago and it's been performing amazingly. I was particularly impressed by the curling barrels, they attract the hair like a magnet and the curls stay for days. But for a more budget option, ghd's new triple barrel hair waver, Wave, is an easy tool to achieve loose beach waves that turn heads, costing £159. However, this doesn't dry the hair and can only be used as a styling tool. Bellissima's Prodigy Air Styler, £249.99, is relatively cheaper than the Dyson. The curling barrels also feature Coanda Technology while the Ion Technology helps keep hair hydrated. Sir James Dyson, founder and Chief Engineer of Dyson said: "Dyson has developed a new motor for our new Airwrap2x, which spins at 150,000rpm, delivering twice the air pressure, faster drying and less heat damage. "The high pressure creates a longer lasting curl or straighter styles. Traditional stylers can damage hair, but we have always focused on developing tools that protect hair health whilst enhancing without compromising precision and or performance. We harness our expertise in motors, fluid dynamics, and materials to continually improve."
