24 Must-See Moments You Might Have Missed From This Year's Baftas Ceremony
The Baftas may be known as a slightly more subdued affair than some of its awards season counterparts across the pond, but this year's ceremony certainly wasn't without its stand-out moments. Between a chaotic performance of "500 Miles", speeches that had us laughing and crying in equal measure, incredible performances and red carpet ensembles that really stole the show, the 2025 Baftas (which took place at London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 16 February) was a pretty eventful night. Here are all the moments you might have missed: 1. Demi Moore on the red carpet. Sorry, need we say more? 2. BAFTAs: Adrien Brody wins Best Leading Actor
Adrien Brody felt "so grateful" to be named Best Leading Actor at the EE BAFTAs. The 51-year-old actor picked up the coveted accolade at the annual awards ceremony on Sunday (16.02.25) for his role in 'The Brutalist', having beat off competition from Timothée Chalamet,( 'A Complete Unknown') Colman Domingo, ('Sing Sing') Ralph Fiennes, ('Conclave') Hugh Grant, ('Heretic') and Sebastian Stan ('The Apprentice'). Speaking live on stage at the Royal Festival hall, he said: "My goodness, thank you, thank you all. Where do I begin? I am so grateful and I wanna thank this wonderful institution for honoring me and everyone here tonight who has done such great work. "This film is about this pursuit of leaving something meaningful and I think that's something we can all relate to." But Adrien was sure to acknowledge his fellow nominees in his speech, and wanted to "share" it with them after realsing just how much he "admired" their work. "I share this award with all of my esteemed nominees, I admire all your work tremendously. "I wanna thank BAFTA, I wanna thank the public. "England has felt quite a bit like home lately." In 'The Brutalist', Adrien stars as a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the United States and noted just before leaving the stage that he felt so "humbled" by the award. He said: "I am so humbled by this, I will cherish this. Thank you all." Earlier in the evening, Brady Corbet had picked up the award for Best Director following his work on the film, having beaten off competition from Sean Baker ('Anora') '', Edward Berger ('Conclave'), Edward Berger 'Dune: Part Two', Denis Villeneuve 'Emilia Pérez', Jacques Audiard 'The Substance', Coralie Fargeate '(The Substance').

BAFTAs: Kieran Culkin named Best Supporting Actor but couldn't attend because of family sickness
Kieran Culkin was named Best Supporting Actor at the EE BAFTAs. The 42-year-old actor had been up against Clarence Maclin ('Sing Sing'), Edward Norton, ('A Complete Unknown') Guy Pearce, ('The Brutalist') Jeremy Strong, ('The Apprentice') Yura Borisov, ('Anora') for his role in 'A Real Pain', but couldn't be present to collect the award, so writer Jesse Eisenberg stepped up instead, just moments after he won for Best Original Screenplay. Speaking live on stage at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday (16.02.25), he said: "I know I just won an award but this is like the fifth award I've accepted on Kieran's behalf, so that has just confirmed that I'd always known - we have a similar life but his about 27 percent better than mine! "He'd love to be here but he is in New York but he is with a family member who is quite sick. "His devotion to his family is beautiful, and I'm so honoured to accept this for him. Just moments before, 'Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl' picked up its second award of the evening, having already been named Best Children's and Family Film, and then the stop-motion fought off competition from 'Flow' 'Inside Out 2' and 'The Wild Robot' to be named Best Animated Film. The animated franchise returned to the screens over Christmas for the first time in over a decade, and was watched by almost 10 million people. Creator Nick Park said: "I didn't actually write a second speech, but well the main thing is that people think that as animators you must need a lot of patience, but the people who really have patience are our loved outs. It takes us 18 months!"
