24 Must-See Moments You Might Have Missed From This Year's Baftas Ceremony

Buzz Feed17-02-2025

The Baftas may be known as a slightly more subdued affair than some of its awards season counterparts across the pond, but this year's ceremony certainly wasn't without its stand-out moments.
Between a chaotic performance of "500 Miles", speeches that had us laughing and crying in equal measure, incredible performances and red carpet ensembles that really stole the show, the 2025 Baftas (which took place at London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 16 February) was a pretty eventful night.
Here are all the moments you might have missed:

2. And while we're on the topic of red carpet – we knew we could rely on Ariana Grande to deliver a look Glinda would be proud of

Behind the scenes of Trump's ‘iconic' McDonald's visit before election victory: ‘That was epic'

Fox Nation is offering a rare glimpse into Donald Trump's pivotal McDonald's visit during the final weeks of his 2024 campaign with a multi-episode installment of 'The Art of the Surge.' It all starts at a McDonald's drive-thru, where the then-GOP nominee traded a suit for an apron and got to work as a fry cook in Feasterville, Pennsylvania last October. Advertisement 'I've always wanted to work at McDonald's, and I never did,' he told workers inside the building. The first episode of the series documents Trump's 'first day' on the job from the very beginning, as he requested to work the french fry cooker and learned the process. He walked through, step-by-step, dunking fries into hot oil, shaking the basket, pouring servings into the signature red McDonald's cartons and sprinkling salt over them. It became an iconic moment on the campaign trail as the notorious New York City business magnate-turned-president performed a job many Americans have had at one point in their lives. Advertisement He even greeted customers wrapped around the building at the drive-thru window. As one family took a Happy Meal from his hands he quipped with a smile, 'It's going to be the best you've ever had. It had better be. I made it myself.' 3 President Trump waving to customers from a McDonald's drive-thru window during a campaign stop in Feasterville-Trevose, Pa. on October 20, 2024. Getty Images Customers passed on their messages of encouragement as the high-stakes faceoff with then-vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris was merely two weeks away, with both teams in a mad sprint to the finish line. Advertisement 'Make America great again!' one driver said. Another, shaking hands with Trump, said, '45-47, you've got this, sir.' 3 Trump filling and order of french fries at the Pennsylvania McDonald's. Photo by Doug Mills-Pool/Getty Images Trump paused, on occasion, to wave at the mass of fans cheering and holding 'Trump-Vance' signs nearby. He told WTXF reporter JoAnn Pileggi that the crowd was smiling and upbeat because they wanted hope. Advertisement Turning back inside the building, he faced the camera at one point and smiled as he noted how much fun he was having. 'I could do this all day. I wouldn't mind this job,' he said. 3 Trump serving a customer an order at the drive-thru window. Photo byTrump's efforts were viewed by many as a mockery of a claim his opponent had worked for the fast food chain while in college. At one point, Trump even remarked, 'I've now worked for 15 minutes. Fifteen more than Kamala.' As his team departed on his personal plane, Trump's deputy director of communications Margo Martin enthused about the day. 'That was epic,' she said. Preparations for Trump's military parade in DC draws mixed reactions

WASHINGTON () — Plans are underway for Saturday's massive military parade celebrating the Army's 250th birthday, an event that is set to bring over 200,000 people to the National Mall. It also coincides with President Trump's 79th birthday. The parade will start at 6:30 pm Saturday and go along Constitution Avenue from 23rd Street to 15th Street NW. Festivities will include fireworks, a concert, celebrity appearances, and a showcase of hundreds of military vehicles and equipment, including Army tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Paladin Howitzers. There will also be a military flyover to mark the occasion, resulting in the temporary closure of Reagan National Airport (DCA) from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Saturday. The celebration will cost a hefty $45 million. A portion of that cost will cover any damage done to D.C. roads by the Army tanks, which has been a point of contention for D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. As World Pride flows straight into the military parade, DC officials say they're ready for anything To try and lessen the impact of those tankers, the Army is putting down metal plates along Constitution Avenue to absorb their impact. Repairs are set to begin immediately after the parade. DC News Now asked people how they feel about the parade Monday morning and received mixed reactions. 'I didn't think it was something we did, but I guess we're doing it,' said one passerby. Sothy Da, a mom of two children in the military, says it's a source of pride for her. 'I'm just so happy. and I'm so proud of the military,' she said. However, others are completely against it. 'I don't think it should be happening at all,' said Darren, who did not want to share his last name. 'This is stupid, I think. I can't believe that people are sleeping now. Like, I don't know what's going on with Americans these days. This is like, It's like North Korea.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. ‘Doctor Who' Might Bring Back David Tennant to Meet Billie Piper Again

It's never a good idea to put too much trust in rumors. But considering there were rumors online that correctly predicted how Ncuti Gatwa's run on Doctor Who would end—with the Fifteenth Doctor regenerating into someone who looked a lot like former companion Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper—you can't rule them out, either. The latest suggests that Piper's return may be for a special purpose: a standalone special that would reunite her with former co-star David Tennant. This speculation was reported by UK papers the Mirror and the Sun, the latter of which which cites an unnamed source teasing 'talk about a possible one-off project to celebrate the 20th anniversary' of the BBC's revival of Doctor Who in 2005. This story couldn't be more vague (the Sun piece goes on to note that 'there have been some ideas floated about, with the thought of maybe bringing David and Billie back together for one last hurrah') and obviously nothing official has been confirmed. The Sun's unnamed source also suggests this potential special could reunite Piper (as Rose) and Tennant (as the version of the Doctor that bi-generated in the 60th anniversary special then settled in with Catherine Tate's Donna Noble and her family). The timing of this rumor comes as Doctor Who fans are wondering what lies ahead for the long-running sci-fi show, which has yet to announce any future plans following Gatwa's final episode. That includes whether or not the BBC and Disney will continue to collaborate on its production; whether or not Russell T Davies would remain as showrunner; and just what Piper's appearance at the end of 'The Reality War' actually means—is she the Sixteenth Doctor? And if not, uh, what is she then? The idea of a Piper-Tennant reunion special would make sense in some ways. Tennant is such a beloved Doctor that he's played two different iterations of the character already, and even though the Fourteenth Doctor is still a very recent memory, most fans would still welcome him back a third time, especially if it means a re-team with Rose. It could be the right move for a show that's navigating some rocky territory at the moment. Or, it could just be a wild rumor that amounts to nothing. What do you think about a Tennant-Piper reunion as the next step for Doctor Who?
