Legendary US fast food chain to open first restaurant in Ireland next month with location revealed
A LEGENDARY US fast food chain is set to open its first restaurant in Ireland next month - and the store's location has been revealed. The restaurant will be part of a new €15 million motorway service area at Junction 6 on the M3 in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath. The Dunshaughlin service hub will include other well-known brands. These will include an M&S Food shop, a Burger King, a Braeburn Coffee Café and Applegreen's new deli counter brand Crafted. What's more, it will offer dine-in seating, takeaway and drive-thru facilities. Back in May, Applegreen first revealed plans to bring Taco Bell to Ireland in May, and it intends to open several outlets nationwide over the next five years. The company has not yet confirmed the next locations. Matthew Johnson, New Market Lead for Taco Bell Europe, said the company is excited to bring its food to Ireland. He said: 'We are thrilled to bring Taco Bell's innovative and flavourful menu to Ireland. Taco Bell unveils its next-generation drive-thru with a major change to how you get your orders 'This expansion is a testament to our commitment to growing our brand globally and delivering exceptional dining experiences to new markets. "We believe that our unique offering will resonate with consumers in Ireland, providing a new and exciting dining option that celebrates bold flavours and a fun, vibrant atmosphere." Applegreen has already launched Taco Bell outlets at several Welcome Break service areas in Britain. The Irish openings will follow a similar model - with Dunshaughlin chosen for its heavy daily traffic and commuter links. What's more, Wendy's is set to open up ten new restaurants in Ireland this year. Corrib Oil Service Station has reached an agreement with the legendary fast-food chain to become its franchise partner in Ireland. And the initial site locations across the country are set to be announced later this year. It will include standalone Wendy's restaurants and new offerings at Corrib Oil Service Station site locations. President International of Wendy's Company, EJ Wunsch, has said that Ireland is a great market for the fast-food chain's long term growth. He said: "With a proven track record of outstanding operations and a significant growth history, we are confident that Corrib Oil is the right partner to drive Wendy's expansion in Ireland."

Wendy's plans developments in Italy and Armenia

The Wendy's Co. has signed two agreements for as many as 190 new restaurants in Italy and Armenia, the company announced. The Dublin, Ohio-based burger chain said the two new franchise agreements are the next steps in advancing the brand's strategic priority to accelerate global net unit growth. These commitments support Wendy's goal to achieve 70% of its unit growth outside the United States, with the company expecting to reach 2,000 international restaurants by 2028. 'These agreements are yet another example of the success of our accelerated growth strategy,' E.J. Wunsch, Wendy's president for international, said in a statement. 'With each new partnership, our momentum increases.' In the Italy deal, Wendy's has entered into a franchise agreement with Your Food S.R.L to develop 170 new Wendy's restaurants across the country. The first two Wendy's restaurants in Italy are planned to open mid-year 2026 in Milan, laying the foundation for long-term growth in the Resca, chairman of Your Food S.R.L., said, 'This marks an exciting chapter as we introduce a new quick-service restaurant standard that combines bold innovation, exceptional hospitality and a deep appreciation for the tastes and preferences of Italian consumers.' In Armenia, Wendy's signed a franchise agreement with Wen Restaurant LLC to develop 20 new Wendy's restaurants through 2030. The first Wendy's location in Armenia is expected to open in Yerevan's city center. Hrant Grigoryan, Wen's CEO, said: "Launching Wendy's in Armenia represents a bold step forward in redefining the quick-service restaurant experience in our country.
