East Kilbride Handball Club complete historic treble
The team lifted the League Cup in Cumbernauld to round off a remarkable campaign
EK82 Handball Club completed an historic treble after beating Kelvinside Handball Club 32-24 in the League Cup final in Cumbernauld.
East Kilbride had already sealed the league title and Scottish Cup to complete the domestic treble for the first time in their history.
All the EK82 players, bar three overseas players, are a product of grassroots coaching in the community by the club, making the achievement all the sweeter.
MVP on the day was goalkeeper Ewan Hunter who had a terrific afternoon, making save after save to break the Kelvinside hearts.
Ryan Kealy top scored with nine goals and Hayden Legowski had his best game of the season in defence, tackling like a lion at every opportunity.
Captain Benjy Muir commented after the game: 'It's been a terrific season for the team.
'Our hard work and dedication paid off.
'We are absolutely delighted with the input of all players and coaches to make this possible.
