FIELDS OF MISTRIA Is Finally Getting a Dating Mechanic
Highlights Fields of Mistria is finally getting a dating mechanic after its Steam Early Access launch last year. We don't have an exact release date yet, but you can expect to get the dating mechanic with the game's next major update sometime in July. Fields of Mistria might take a page out of Harvest Moon's playbook as far as relationships are concerned. Dating has been the topic on everyone's minds since Fields of Mistria launched in Steam Early Access last year. For a game filled with so many gorgeous romance options, some players have felt it's a real bummer that you can't make things official with your crush just yet. (Looking at you, March.) With a recent announcement, it looks like we won't need to wait much longer to get a date. Mark your calendars for July because Fields of Mistria is finally getting a dating mechanic with its next major update. Developer NPC Studio has yet to share an exact release date for the slew of new content, but we can expect more details as summer approaches. For now, we have a lot to look forward to. It's about to heat up around Mistria. Dating Arrives in Fields of Mistria This Summer We've made do with current heart events and romantic one-on-ones at the Summit for the Shooting Star Festival. But let's face it — it's not the same as going out on a date with your favorite NPC and, well, calling it a date. This drawback is what's kept many potential players from grabbing Fields of Mistria after its Early Access launch in August. All that's set to change when Fields of Mistria finally receives a true dating mechanic in its third major update this July. RELATED: Deliver At All Costs, Gigapocalypse and Sifu Are Free in the Epic Games Store We don't know much about what dating will entail in the game's small town setting ahead of the update. But if we look to other genre frontrunners as an example, it's safe to say dating in Mistria will come with the exclusivity talk and some kind of token to initiate that conversation. Since we're also set to see marriage introduced to the game in a later update, we can assume making your relationship official won't necessarily tie you down to just one character, either. Typically, you can choose to end your relationship and explore other options if you have a change of heart. This would be a good thing, considering we're still waiting on our last romance option to appear after Caldarus' arrival in the March 2025 update. Luckily, another new feature will allow you to remain close friends or assign the BFF label to another NPC. Romance and Friendship Routes Fields of Mistria may be taking a page from the Harvest Moon playbook with this one. As you get to know the folks around Mistria, you won't be locked into romance with those marked dateable. Got a favorite townie you'd rather call your best friend? Great, because that's exactly what we're getting with Romance and Best Friend routes. RELATED: Mobile Game Monday: Sagrada Since this mechanic is set to arrive alongside a new 8-Heart level cap and events, it looks like you'll be given the option to dub someone your bestie at that point. Again, this will probably involve a token of some kind. Whatever the case may be, I'm just glad I can finally call Celine my best friend. Dating Caldarus doesn't sound so bad, either. Which NPCs are you planning on dating or calling your BFF in Fields of Mistria? Share your picks with us in the comments!

Chicago Hounds fly-half rated second-best player in world by Rugby 25
The launch of the latest Rugby 25 video game has been mocked following some unusual player ratings, with a Sale Sharks hooker who has never played Test rugby and a journeyman fly-half playing for Chicago Hounds rated as the second-best players in the world behind Antoine Dupont. Sale's Tadgh McElroy has been given a 90 rating, one point behind the best player in the game in Dupont and above the likes of Damian Penaud, Jordie Barrett and Caleb Clarke. Sale poked fun at the rating on Instagram with a post captioned: 'If you know, you know. Watch out Dupont.' McElroy responded to the club over WhatsApp by saying: 'It's quite funny to be honest. I've been sent this loads of times now. Getting a bit of stick from the lads but I'll accept the rating for sure.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sale Sharks (@salesharks) McElroy was joined as a surprise 90-rated player by Anthony Watson, the former Leicester and England wing who announced his retirement last month. The other 90-rated player is fly-half Tim Swiel, 31, who in a well-travelled career has played for (pause for breath) Western Province, Sharks, Harlequins, Newcastle, Stormers, Toyota Shokki, Edinburgh, Saracens and now Chicago Hounds. The game, made by Big Ant Studios based in Australia, released an important patch update on Friday, a day after the game's launch. 'We've found some issues with the ratings related to save files (particularly for those people on PC that were part of the Early Access). These will be rectified in a downloadable update,' Ross Symons, Big Ant Studios' founder and CEO, wrote on X. These will be rectified in a downloadable update. — Ross (@RossSymons) February 14, 2025 While the visuals for the new release received praise, there was notable criticism around gameplay, with one post on the Big Ant Studios forum titled 'Refund advice please'. The game features international teams and more than 150 clubs from 11 competitions, including the Gallagher Premiership, United Rugby Championship and Top 14. Early indications suggest that Rugby 25 will not threaten the two greatest rugby video games released to date, 1997's Jonah Lomu Rugby and Rugby 08, the final rugby game released by EA Sports in 2008.

Steam now warns about Early Access that have not been updated in months.🕵️ Tip: SteamDB browser extension shows last update for all games.
