FIELDS OF MISTRIA Is Finally Getting a Dating Mechanic
Highlights
Fields of Mistria is finally getting a dating mechanic after its Steam Early Access launch last year.
We don't have an exact release date yet, but you can expect to get the dating mechanic with the game's next major update sometime in July.
Fields of Mistria might take a page out of Harvest Moon's playbook as far as relationships are concerned.
Dating has been the topic on everyone's minds since Fields of Mistria launched in Steam Early Access last year. For a game filled with so many gorgeous romance options, some players have felt it's a real bummer that you can't make things official with your crush just yet. (Looking at you, March.) With a recent announcement, it looks like we won't need to wait much longer to get a date.
Mark your calendars for July because Fields of Mistria is finally getting a dating mechanic with its next major update. Developer NPC Studio has yet to share an exact release date for the slew of new content, but we can expect more details as summer approaches. For now, we have a lot to look forward to. It's about to heat up around Mistria.
Dating Arrives in Fields of Mistria This Summer
We've made do with current heart events and romantic one-on-ones at the Summit for the Shooting Star Festival. But let's face it — it's not the same as going out on a date with your favorite NPC and, well, calling it a date. This drawback is what's kept many potential players from grabbing Fields of Mistria after its Early Access launch in August. All that's set to change when Fields of Mistria finally receives a true dating mechanic in its third major update this July.

We don't know much about what dating will entail in the game's small town setting ahead of the update. But if we look to other genre frontrunners as an example, it's safe to say dating in Mistria will come with the exclusivity talk and some kind of token to initiate that conversation. Since we're also set to see marriage introduced to the game in a later update, we can assume making your relationship official won't necessarily tie you down to just one character, either.
Typically, you can choose to end your relationship and explore other options if you have a change of heart. This would be a good thing, considering we're still waiting on our last romance option to appear after Caldarus' arrival in the March 2025 update. Luckily, another new feature will allow you to remain close friends or assign the BFF label to another NPC.
Romance and Friendship Routes
Fields of Mistria may be taking a page from the Harvest Moon playbook with this one. As you get to know the folks around Mistria, you won't be locked into romance with those marked dateable. Got a favorite townie you'd rather call your best friend? Great, because that's exactly what we're getting with Romance and Best Friend routes.

Since this mechanic is set to arrive alongside a new 8-Heart level cap and events, it looks like you'll be given the option to dub someone your bestie at that point. Again, this will probably involve a token of some kind. Whatever the case may be, I'm just glad I can finally call Celine my best friend. Dating Caldarus doesn't sound so bad, either.

‘Elden Ring Nightreign' Players Realize There's No Comms, No Duos And No Crossplay
Elden Ring Nightreign From It was a bit eyebrow-raising to see Elden Ring Nightreign arrive with a 77 metascore, quite low for a FromSoftware offering, particularly one with the Elden Ring name attached. But now that the game is in the wild, fans are finding the same faults, and as a percentage, their scores are even lower. As it stands, Elden Ring Nightreign has 66% 'Mixed' reviews on Steam. Again, that's low for FromSoft, and even though actual concurrents were stellar, with a peak of 313,000 yesterday night, but it's unclear how many will stick with it longer term. I don't blame people for not reading a bunch of reviews before launch, but if you didn't, you might be logging in expecting some pretty basic functionality that does not exist in Nightreign at all. Elden Ring Nightreign FromSoft There are other issues in Nightreign. Solo play, though accounted for in development, is a sort of ultra-challenge mode that most players are not going to be able to do at all, especially with no inborn self-revive, even one instance. The game has also had performance issues on PC, where a single stutter in fights can result in death and an entire lost run. It's not all bad, of course. Two-thirds of players are giving positive reviews; it's just that the level of positive reviews are much lower than a game from this developer would ever get. Many of these issues seem somewhat fixable, but how long in the future? That remains to be seen. We will see how player retention is over the long term.

New ELDEN RING: NIGHTREIGN Trailer Takes Us Back To The Early 2000s with Evanescence's 'Bring Me to Life' — GeekTyrant
There are certain moments in life that hit like a memory you didn't realize you'd been waiting to relive. Watching the Elden Ring: Nightreign trailer scored with Evanescence's 'Bring Me to Life' is one of them. Bandai Namco dropped the trailer which shows a team of three Tarnished warriors going toe-to-toe with Morgott the Omen King while Amy Lee belts her heart out over power chords like it's 2003. The trailer came with the following note: 'When your allies have fallen and all seems lost, dig deep down inside and summon the strength of early 2000's alternative metal. WAKE ME UP.' The music hits perfect for this trailer as the full-throttle drama and epic fantasy violence syncs perfectly to a track that defined an era. It's pretty cool! Nightreign is shaping up to be a must-play for fans and newcomers alike. Set in a parallel universe to the original Elden Ring , Nightreign transports players to Limveld, an amalgamation of familiar yet foreboding landscapes inspired by Limgrave. The game's structure revolves around surviving three day-and-night cycles. Days are spent exploring, looting, and leveling up with friends, while nights bring the ominous "Night's Tide," which gradually shrinks the map, forcing confrontations with powerful bosses. The ultimate challenge? Survive long enough to face the Nightlord on the final day, earning relics that carry over to future runs. Unlike the sprawling open-world freedom of Elden Ring , Nightreign offers a tighter, session-based structure designed for cooperative play. The focus is on rapid progression, collaboration, and adapting to escalating challenges as you and your team navigate Limveld's dangers. Elden Ring Nightreign introduces eight predefined character builds, each with unique abilities, weapons, and ultimates. This approach removes the series' traditional character creation and stat micromanagement, streamlining gameplay to emphasize team synergy. Whether you're playing as a tank, DPS, or support role, success depends on coordinating with your allies to balance your party's strengths. Progression is simplified but strategic. Instead of investing in individual stats, players level up their characters broadly during each session, with rewards and relics unlocking meaningful upgrades. Relics, earned through both victories and failures, offer permanent enhancements, incentivizing players to push through even the most punishing challenges. The gameplay mechanics retain the familiar Elden Ring DNA but introduce key changes to accommodate Nightreign's cooperative focus. Movement is faster, fall damage is removed, and combat relies heavily on the interplay between character builds. FromSoftware has also tailored exploration to match the session-based format, with Sites of Grace scattered across the map offering vital opportunities to level up and regroup. While the shrinking map mechanic adds urgency, it also intensifies the strategic element, as players must decide how to manage resources and whether to engage enemies or flee to safer grounds. This balance of exploration, combat, and survival promises a thrilling departure from the more solitary experience of the original game. So yeah, I wasn't planning to buy Elden Ring: Nightreign this week. But then I saw a fallen co-op partner resurrected in perfect sync with 'WAKE ME UP INSIDE,' and suddenly I'm booting up my console like it's a LAN party in 2004. Whoever at Bandai Namco greenlit this deserves a raise. Not just for marketing brilliance—but for finally giving AMVs the respect they deserve.

One of the greatest platformers of all time is currently free on Android
TL;DR Limbo is currently free on both PC and Android via the Epic Games Store. The stylish 2010 title is considered one of the best platformers ever made. It will be free until June 5, but it remains in your account forever once claimed. Platforming games have long been one of the best suited to playing on phones, and if you act quickly, you can grab one of the best platformers of all time for keeps. The essential horror/puzzle/platform title Limbo is the latest free game on the Epic Games Store, and it's available on both PC and Android. In case you somehow missed Playdead's 2010 classic, Limbo is a stylish black and white platformer where you control a boy searching for his sister in a dangerous land. Many of the game's puzzles rely on trial and error, with the expectation that the player will frequently die and restart from the last checkpoint. Once claimed, the game will remain on your account forever. Each of those deaths is pretty gruesome. You'll be impaled by giant spiders, crushed in hydraulic presses, and smashed by bear traps as you make your way to the end of the game. Despite this, watching your character ragdoll due to the unique physics engine is actually a highlight. The game was released on Android over a decade ago, but the critically acclaimed 2016 sequel Inside has not. It was ported to iOS way back in 2017, but for whatever reason, it never received an Android release. Playdead's third game has been in development for more than eight years at this point, but there's still no news on a release date. Regardless, you can claim Limbo from the Epic Games Store for free until June 5, so don't miss out. Once claimed, it will remain on your account forever. On PC, you can grab both Limbo and Tiny Tina's Wonderland. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . You can stay anonymous or get credit for the info, it's your choice.
