Egypt, Qatar Discuss Gaza Hostage Release as Israeli Strikes Kill 22
Ahmed Emam On Tuesday, Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Qatari counterpart Mohamed Abdelrahman held discussions focused on efforts to secure the release of detainees held in Gaza and to ensure the urgent and unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged territory, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Abdelatty also reviewed the arrangements for Egypt's hosting of the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference for Gaza, to be held immediately after a ceasefire agreement is reached, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, the statement added. The talks come amid escalating violence in the Gaza Strip, where the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has risen to 22 since dawn on Monday. The situation underscores mounting regional and international concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ongoing hostilities that continue to claim civilian lives. Both Egypt and Qatar have played key mediation roles in previous ceasefire efforts between Israel and Palestinian factions, with diplomatic efforts intensifying as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates and calls for a truce grow louder from the international community. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean Arts & Culture "6 Ayam" Sets Streaming Date

Egypt Welcomes EU's €1.6 Billion Multi-Year Financial Programme for Palestinian Recovery
By Ahmad El-Assasy Egypt has welcomed the European Commission's announcement on 14 April 2025 of a new multi-year financial programme worth €1.6 billion aimed at supporting Palestinian recovery efforts. The initiative underscores the European Union's commitment to empowering the Palestinian Authority and addressing the legitimate needs of the Palestinian people in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo praised the EU's position as a reflection of its understanding of the urgent need to support the Palestinian people during this critical phase of their national struggle. Egypt reiterated that such support is essential to achieving a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian cause, based on the two-state solution. Egypt also commended the €82 million allocated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), highlighting the indispensable role of the agency in delivering essential services and humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees. The statement reaffirmed that UNRWA's mission remains irreplaceable amid growing regional humanitarian challenges. Furthermore, Egypt expressed its hope that the European Union will continue its support for the Palestinian Authority and play a constructive role in the upcoming Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference for Gaza, which Egypt will host in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government. This financial commitment by the EU is seen as a critical step toward alleviating humanitarian suffering and strengthening the institutional foundations of the Palestinian state. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
