Senator Webb hosting Earth Day art contest
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Senator Lea Webb is asking student artists to participate in an Earth Day celebration.
Webb is seeking submissions for her Earth Day Student Showcase. This year's theme is 'Our Power, Our Planet!'
Through the initiative, Webb aims to emphasize the importance of recycling and waste reduction while encouraging the exchange of ideas about recycling and waste reduction among schools, children, and adults.
Children from grades K-12 are encouraged to participate by submitting a poster that could be used during the campaign. All students who participate will be awarded a certificate of recognition from Webb.
'This Earth Day, we have a unique opportunity to empower the next generation of environmental stewards,' said Webb. 'Our theme, 'Our Power, Our Planet,' isn't just about raising awareness—it's about inspiring action. By teaching our children to recycle, reduce waste, and think creatively about solutions, we're building a future where every small effort adds up to a big impact. Together, we can show our students that protecting the Earth is not just an obligation, but a privilege.'
All submissions must be made by April 11. To submit your art, click here.
