Senator Webb hosting Earth Day art contest
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Senator Lea Webb is asking student artists to participate in an Earth Day celebration.
Webb is seeking submissions for her Earth Day Student Showcase. This year's theme is 'Our Power, Our Planet!'
Through the initiative, Webb aims to emphasize the importance of recycling and waste reduction while encouraging the exchange of ideas about recycling and waste reduction among schools, children, and adults.
Children from grades K-12 are encouraged to participate by submitting a poster that could be used during the campaign. All students who participate will be awarded a certificate of recognition from Webb.
'This Earth Day, we have a unique opportunity to empower the next generation of environmental stewards,' said Webb. 'Our theme, 'Our Power, Our Planet,' isn't just about raising awareness—it's about inspiring action. By teaching our children to recycle, reduce waste, and think creatively about solutions, we're building a future where every small effort adds up to a big impact. Together, we can show our students that protecting the Earth is not just an obligation, but a privilege.'
All submissions must be made by April 11. To submit your art, click here.

Three biggest reveals from Alien: Earth trailer
At long last, FX has released an official trailer for Alien: Earth. The highly anticipated series from Noah Hawley is a prequel set two years before the seminal events in 1979's Alien. The new footage revealed several important details about the characters and storyline. Human consciousness can exist in a synthetic body The Alien franchise has always included androids, most notably Ian Holm as Ash in Alien and Michael Fassbender as David in Prometheus. The Alien: Earth trailer introduces the concept of hybrids, which are humanoid robots with human consciousness. The first hybrid prototype is Wendy, played by Sydney Chandler. The consciousness of a young girl is transferred into a synthetic body. This technological breakthrough was facilitated by Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), the CEO of Prodigy Corporation. Five corporations govern Earth Every Alien fan will recognize Weyland-Yutani, the corporation behind most of the technological innovations of the time. The tech giant consistently puts humans at risk with xenomorphs due to corporate greed and the desire to churn a profit. In the year 2120, Weyland-Yutani is one of five corporations that govern Earth. The other four are Prodigy, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. Humans coexist with cyborgs — humans with both biological and artificial parts — and synthetics — humanoid robots with artificial intelligence. Thanks to Wendy, add hybrids to the list of creatures on Earth. There will be more than one creature wreaking havoc The iconic creature of the Alien franchise is the xenomorph, the ruthless extraterrestrial species responsible for killing most of the humans in each movie. One xenomorph is more than enough to cause significant destruction. However, the Weyland-Yutani spaceship that crashed in Prodigy City was carrying more than one 'invasive species.' 'This ship collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe,' one of the characters states in the trailer. 'Monsters … predatory.' Wendy and a group of soldiers are tasked with investigating the ship. What they find 'puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat.' The rest of Alien: Earth's ensemble includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesa, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana Jame, Lily Newmark, Diêm Camille, Adrian Edmondson, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. Alien: Earth is created by Emmy winner Noah Hawley. Alien director Ridley Scott is attached as an executive producer. Alien: Earth premieres on FX on August 12. Stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

General Hospital Spoilers Preview June 5: When the Courtroom Becomes the Delivery Room, Is It Willow to the Rescue?
The next General Hospital spoilers video for Thursday, June 5, 2025, shows Sahsa going into labor on the witness stand while Willow springs into action. Also, Lucky wraps his brain around Liz's rejection. Anna (Finola Hughes) informs Jason (Steve Burton), 'I need your help to prove that I'm right.' Clearly, she wants him to help prove that Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) is up to no good. Anna has an entire police force at her fingertips, but she trusts the local hitman to get the job done. READ THIS: Find out what's up with Anna and the Professor. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) asks Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), 'Are you saying 'no' forever?' The weekly teasers state that Lucky faces a hard truth, which is most likely that Liz won't marry him because he could leave Port Charles at any moment. Brennan (Chris McKenna) says to Josslyn (Eden McCoy), 'Under no circumstances are you to run interference.' She must be aware that Anna is starting to suspect Dalton, and Brennan wants her to focus on the mission and let him take care of the police commissioner. READ THIS: Could Lucky and Liz settle into being an actual couple? Maxie (Kirsten Storms) tells Sonny (Maurice Benard), 'We put our misgivings aside until we have a reason not to.' She's probably defending the fact that Deception needs to work with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) for his rare Earth minerals until such time that he proves he's a villain. At the courthouse, Carly (Laura Wright) accuses Nina (Cynthia Watros), 'It was you!' Despite not wanting to betray Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), Nina must have told Ric (Rick Hearst) that Michael (Rory Gibson) got her pregnant. READ THIS: Learn about the stuntwomen who brought Nina and Carly's epic catfight to life. Meanwhile, on the witness stand, Sasha states, 'I think I'm going into labor!' The teasers also show that Willow springs into action, so her nursing skills are probably going to come in handy. If Willow delivers Sasha's baby, this might unfortunately work in her favor with the judge's custody decision.

SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW Reportedly to Include a Big DC Cameo — GeekTyrant
Looks like Kara Zor-El will be joined by another big character from James Gunn's DCU in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow . This one seems like a given, but according to a new report, Milly Alcock's big-screen debut as Supergirl could feature a little cameo from David Corenswet's Superman. Scooper MTTSH recently claimed that Corenswet's Superman will show up in a flashback. The scene reportedly depicts Kara's arrival on Earth, where she emerges from her ship alongside none other than Krypto the Superdog. Superman greets her with a warm smile and says 'Hi there!' While that moment might sound small, it fits with what we already know. In Gunn's Superman , Clark is said to be looking after Krypto for Kara, so this flashback will tie some things together. The rumor comes as Alcock begins to open up about the daunting journey of stepping into the iconic red boots. In a recent interview, she shared what it felt like going through the nerve-racking audition process — including a full-costume screen test with another actor. 'During a screen test, you're in a room with all the other women [vying for the same part] and you're all dressed as the character. [The studio] will get you lined up in the makeup truck and put the same makeup on you all and then test you on a stage. 'For Supergirl , it was myself and another girl. It was really scary; I thought I was going to vomit! But it's just fear! That's what happens! This job has been a journey of overcoming my own fear.' Once the shock of getting cast settled in, Alcock leaned into the celebration, saying: 'I was kind of in disbelief. I was initially like, 'What have I done?'' Alcock admitted. 'I then invited all my friends over to the house and we drank champagne.' The film is still in production, and aside from a few blurry set photos and some official behind the scenes stills, we haven't seen a full reveal of Alcock in the Supergirl suit. When Gunn first announced the project, he offered some insight on how this version of Kara Zor-El would stand apart from the cheery, upbeat version many fans are used to. 'We see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton. '[She] watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She's much more hardcore, she's not exactly the Supergirl we're used to seeing.' So far, we know Alcock will be joined in the film by David Krumholtz ( Oppenheimer ) and Emily Beecham ( Into The Badlands ), who will play Kara's biological mother and father Alura and Zor-El, Eve Ridley ( 3 Body Problem ) who will play Ruthye Marye Knoll, and Matthias Schoenaerts ( The Old Guard ) will play the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills. Aquaman star Jason Momoa joined the cast as Lobo, and Krypto the Superdog is also going to play a role in the story. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has begun shooting, and is expected to arrive in theaters on June 26, 2026.
