AT LEAST 18 people have died and nine injured after a bus plummeted from a bridge into a river after veering off the road.
Emergency services were called late afternoon on Friday in the Mohammadia district of east Algeria to reports of the horrific incident.

Civil Protection teams said recovery efforts went on into the evening as investigators assessed the incident.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
Road accidents are common in Algeria due to poor conditions, speeding and mechanical failures often leading to fatal incidents.
