First female in East Liverpool Fire Department's history is sworn in
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) — It was a historic day in Southern Columbiana County as the East Liverpool Fire Department promoted one firefighter and swore in another.
Brittany Hill was sworn in as the department's first female firefighter in its 109-year history.
This comes after the East Liverpool Police Department hired its first female officer in its 120-year history earlier this year.
Additionally, Aaron Jones was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief. Additionally,
Jones' promotion comes after the retirement of Assistant Chief Eric Croxall, who worked his last shift April 8. Croxall gave 35 years to the department.
The department's union posted photos on Facebook.
