Hundreds enjoy free Easter fun day event in Mold
Heavy rain prior to the event meant organisers had to move the event to the Daniel Owen Square and reduce the activities it was due to provide, despite all this, families turned up in their hundreds to enjoy the day.
Around 800 attendees enjoyed the event which included visits from Peter Rabbit and Bugs Bunny, who along with volunteers, issued over 600 free Easter eggs, within the first 90 minutes of the event.
Character visits also included Stitch, Skye (Paw Patrol), The Hulk and Spiderman. Children enjoyed the free Easter craft table which was incredibly busy throughout the event, the free prize draw to name the giant unicorn and the Easter trail around the square, plus the very popular Mega Tombola.
Spider, man and the Hulk were among those in attendance (Image: Jane Evans) Jane Evans, Mold Town Council events and community engagement officer, said: "It was touch and go as to whether we were going to have to cancel the event due to the weather and also the forecast sites for the Saturday were all predicting rain, but thankfully we decided to proceed with a smaller event and Flintshire Markets Team where able to accommodate us on the square at last minute.
"I am so glad we didn't have to cancel as it was fantastic to see so many families at the event and lots of happy faces.'
"I would also like to say a big thank you to our local businesses and residents who contributed to the event; Mega Electrical NW Ltd, Celtic Financial Planning Ltd, Barnard Engineering Ltd, Beaufort Park Hotel, Chainstore Outlet, Formulas Elite Travel, Swayne Johnson Charitable Trust, Williams Estates, Academy of Design, KMA Tool Hire & Sales, Tesco, All About You, Tate & Lyle, Mark Isherwood MS, Rachael Drew and also those who wish for their donation to be kept anonymous."

She added: "Events in Mold rely very much on volunteers, without our amazing volunteers, events such as this one just wouldn't happen and Mold Town Council would like to thank all the volunteers who helped at the Easter Fun Day."
