A bit overcast conditions today but not much to worry about. The players are out in the middle. Pathum Nissanka and Prabath Jayasuriya to resume their batting. Ebadot Hossain to bowl first on Day 3. ! PITCH REPORT - Russel Arnold is pitchside. He says Sri Lanka can pile up the runs but feels Bangladesh missed a trick by not being disciplined while bowling. Tells the pitch looks dry and the cracks are opening up and the ball might start to misbehave. Mentions the second new ball is due in two overs and it will do something. ! Dinesh Chandimal's attempted reverse sweep fell in the hands of the keeper and that somehow broke the stubborn partnership. Bangladesh got the opening late in the day and that would have given some hope to get a couple more wickets. Day 3 is more important for Bangladesh then compared to the hosts. If Sri Lanka dominate a couple more sessions then it's fair to say Bangladesh will play the catch up game. Will we see a more energetic performance from the visitors? Let's find out. Stay tuned for more updates. ! Hello everyone to the action of Day 3 between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The hosts have started dominantly in this second match. After successfully tumbling out Bangladesh for just 247 runs on a pitch which demanded more runs on it. Sri Lanka's reply with the bat turned out even more dominating as they cut down the deficit within three sessions which included a fantastic century from Pathum Nissanka who is still unbeaten on 146. The 194-run stand with Dinesh Chandimal just dismantled Bangladesh's energy on the field. ! ...DAY 3, SESSION 1... ! Bangladesh chopped and changed as they looked for a breakthrough but it arrived in the dying minutes of the day. Before that, they had to chase the game and were not just made to chase the game but the red cherry as well, as Sri Lanka scored more than 100 runs in both sessions. Nayeem Hasan got the big wicket of Dinesh Chandimal but the way Pathum Nissanka is batting, Bangladesh will need something special to get rid of him as the opener is determined to score a double-ton after missing in the first game. Right then! A lot to worry about for Bangladesh but a rest is utmost important for them as a big Day 3 awaits them. They need to set the tone from the start of the session. Can they? Play on the 'moving day' starts at 4.23 am GMT and you can join us a bit early for the build-up. Till then, cheers! ! It has gotten very dark and the umpires have asked the players to leave. That will be STUMPS! Sri Lanka through and through as we get to the end of Day 2. What a day for the hosts. What a match so far for them. Sri Lanka had control right from the beginning of the day. Bangladesh managed just 27 runs with the two wickets they had and Sri Lankan bowlers did the job quickly. The Lankan batters were watchful at the start of the innings but once they negotiated the first hour, runs started to come. Lahiru Udara played a decent innings of 40 but it was the partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Dinesh Chandimal that cut down the deficit with ease. The 194-run stand saw both the batters score their half-centuries respectively. Nissanka went onto register his second century of this series however, his partner Dinesh Chandimal fell on 93 while trying to play the reverse sweep. 77.6 0 Mominul Haque to Prabath Jayasuriya An arm ball, full and outside off, Prabath Jayasuriya knocks it to cover. 77.5 1 Mominul Haque to Pathum Nissanka This is full and outside off, Nissanka hits it to deep cover for a run. 77.4 1 Mominul Haque to Prabath Jayasuriya Too full and outside off, Prabath Jayasuriya drives it to cover for a single. 77.3 0 Mominul Haque to Prabath Jayasuriya Tossed up on middle, Prabath Jayasuriya pushes it to cover. 77.2 4 Mominul Haque to Prabath Jayasuriya FOUR! EDGED! Floated full and outside off, turns away. Prabath Jayasuriya plays away from the body and edges it past Najmul Hossain Shanto at first slip and to the third man fence.
