Sapling planting drive held on court campus
As part of the mega sapling planting drive, around 50 tree saplings were planted on the Sivaganga District Court Complex. Sivaganga Principal District Judge K. Arivoli planted the saplings and watered them at the event. The saplings were planted near the Mediation Centre on the court premises. The PDJ spoke about the importance of planting trees and protecting the environment. She urged the authorities to nurture the saplings with proper care. The mega sapling planting drive is being implemented following the direction from the Tamil Nadu Legal Services Authority. The sapling planting drive is part of a larger campaign to protect the environment which included the Eco Friendly Atmosphere project. As part of the project, varieties of saplings will be grown and maintained for about nine months at the nursery established on the court premises. After nine months, the saplings will be planted in various places including the court campus, parks, roadsides and other public utility areas wherever it is feasible. Judge of Special Court for trial of cases under Prevention of Corruption Act N. Senthil Murali, the Secretary of Sivaganga District Legal Services Authority V. Radika, advocates, court staff, Sivaganga District Legal Services Authority staff and others were present during the sapling planting drive.

Sapling planting drive held on prison premises
As part of the sapling planting drive in Sivaganga district, Principal District and Sessions Judge K. Arivoli on Friday planted saplings on the premises of the Purasadai Udaippu open prison in the district and the sub-jails in Tirupattur and Sivaganga. As part of the programme, Sivaganga District Legal Services Authority also donated books to the prison library. Earlier, in order to increase the green cover in the district, an 'Eco Friendly Atmosphere' project was launched by the Sivaganga District Legal Services Authority on the district court campus premises in Sivaganga. The project was being implemented under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority. Over 1,000 saplings will be grown and maintained for about nine months at the nursery established on the court campus premises. The main objective of the project was to increase the green cover and handle the changing climatic conditions effectively, the officials said. Varieties of saplings will be grown and maintained in the nursery for about nine months. After the said period, the saplings will be planted in various places including court campus, parks, roadsides and other public utility areas wherever it is feasible, the officials said, adding that Judiciary, Revenue, Forest and other Departments were jointly implementing the 'Eco Friendly Atmosphere project'.
