Crafted from 73% cotton, 20% recycled cotton, 6% hemp and 1% elastane, the skirt is built to last, as well as easy to care and maintain as it is machine washable. The skirt has a single stud button fastening at centre front waist with zip fly, making it easy to wear on or take off, and even better than that - it comes with side pockets. Alternatively, for a midi skirt that isn't denim, shoppers can purchase Next's Satin Midi Skirt that comes in eight different colours and is sold for £32. Or, the M&S Collection Textured Midi Circle Skirt is for £35 at Marks and Spencer. Back at Boden, the Panelled Full Denim Skirt has received a 4.4 rating out of five stars and 54 reviews so far. One satisfied customer, who gave it five-star rating, remarked: "Great shape, flattering on the hips and waist and a nice generous A line. Perfect pockets." The mid vintage dress comes in a rich blue denim colour, which can be perfectly styled with either boots during the colder months or heeled sandals during the warmer months (Image: Boden) While another pleased shopper had this to say: "Was delighted when I found this skirt been looking for ages for a replacement for a denim skirt to replace an 'ancient' denim skirt bought I guess in 70's. Fits like a dream and feels so soft and is stylish." And another customer remarked: "I take a size 16. This is a true size 16, and fits me perfectly. The skirt is well cut and the seams are all very well finished, which is extremely rare these days! The denim is heavy weight and hangs beautifully. I wore it the day after I received it and was very happy. And it's got pockets". But not everyone was happy with the skirt. While one praised the skirt for its fabric, they were unsure about its sizing. "Nice thick denim, but pocket placement and waist to hip ratio was a problem for me," they reviewed. Another unhappy shopper stated: "This denim skirt is really good quality and a nice weight that does swish because of the A line panels. Unfortunately, it was one to two inches too big on the waist, the stretch in the fabric and weight of the material did not help this problem. "I ordered a size 6 (I'm a classic 6), but unfortunately will need to return. If a size 4 was available I would have tried it, as it's quite lovely." Meanwhile, a shopper had nothing but praise for the denim skirt and even bought another one. In their review, they penned: "This is a really nice skirt. Well made, hangs well, fabric not too heavy but nice for summer wear. As it was such a good fit, I ordered the denim one as well." And other happy customers praised the skirt for its versatility, especially its all-year round wear. One customer said: "Great staple of jeans skirt. Proper heavy jeans material, panelled A-line skirt with larger border at the hem, it falls beautifully and feels great to wear. "Jeans skirts used to be around much more, but not in last few years, so I was pleasantly surprised to find Boden offers 2x styles this year! It fits well, I'm size 10 and 5ft 9 tall, so the length half way down my lower leg is good. "The pockets are roomy enough to keep the hands inside, but don't stand out too much, so keep a nice silhouette. This will be lovely for spring or cool summer and autumn, very versatile! Thank you Boden for a classic skirt! Can't find a fault yet, but haven't washed it yet." And one revealed they were a bit apprehensive before buying: "I was worried about buying this due to the reviews about sizing and excess material. I'm in between a 10 and 12 but went with the 12 and I'm glad I did as it sits well on the waist. Article continues below "There is extra material but I let it sit for a while so the denim softened and then the material fell nicely overlapping. Great length too. I find shorter denim skirts can ride up when you sit, but this certainly won't. Will be easy to dress up or down."

Zara asked to remove ads featuring 'unhealthily thin' models, UK watchdog says
In response, Zara said the two models provided medical certificates attesting good health. Zara has been asked to remove two advertisements from its United Kingdom website for featuring "unhealthily thin" models. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the United Kingdom's independent advertising regulator, has asked Zara to remove ads, on its U.K. website, for a dress and oversized shirt that feature "unhealthily thin" models, a breach of industry standard, it claims. The ASA says these ads were not prepared "with a sense of responsibility to consumers and to society." In total, the ASA reviewed four Zara ads flagged by a member of the public who believed the featured models were too thin, ASA Media and Public Relations Manager Matthew Wilson told USA TODAY. Based in Spain, Zara is a fast fashion company that sells men's and women's clothing, accessories and beauty products, known for their simplistic design. The company operates about 100 locations in the U.S. Zara did not immediately respond for comment about the ads when contacted by USA TODAY on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Ads flagged for 'protuding collarbones' The two advertisements featured models with "protruding collarbones," the ASA wrote in its findings. One of the advertisements was for Zara's ZW Collection Oversized Pocket Shirt in Oyster-White. In one of the photographs, the shirt's low-cut design draws attention to the model's upper chest, "creating a focal point around her collarbone, which was protruding," the ASA wrote. The positioning of the model's arms, one on her hip and the other in her pants pocket, also made her arms appear "very slim," the agency said. The other ad was for Zara's Voluminous Combined Short Dress in Ecru (off-white). In the photos, shadows on the model's legs draw attention to them, making them appear "noticeably thin," the ASA wrote in its findings. The positioning of the model's upper arms also makes her body appear "slightly out of proportion," the ASA continues. Finally, the model's hair was pulled back in a slick bun, drawing emphasis to her head with appears "slightly gaunt." What was Zara's response? According to the ASA, Zara claimed the two models had worked for "well-known" fashion brands and provided medical certification proving they were in good health. As for the photos themselves, Zara told the ASA that they had not been modified, outside of "very minor lighting and coloring edits." The ASA findings published on Aug. 6 state that Zara removed the ads from its website. As of Aug. 6, the flagged photos for the Voluminous Combined Short Dress were removed and the entire ZW Collection Oversized Pocket Shirt listing was gone from the U.K. website. This Is The Enormous Blouse Trend We Never Saw Coming
Stepping out in a hot and humid New York, style icon Tracee Ellis Ross, expertly dressed by long-term collaborator Karla Welch, delivered a masterclass in the art of BBD (that's big blousy dressing). Opting for a billowing blouse by Jacquemus and equally voluminous skirt in matching deckchair stripes, it was a lesson in how to keep cool while looking perfectly put-together. And so, as we enter the muggy depths of August, consider BBD the blueprint for your next summer ensemble. The key to nailing the trend? It's all in the fit. Think flowing hemlines, supersized sleeves and plenty of volume. You may think sleeves don't scream summertime, but they're actually the season's unsung hero, saving you from singed shoulders while ensuring you're office appropriate. Choose generous balloons, draped batwings or raglan shoulders that'll allow plenty of room for a welcome breeze. Next up is fabric choice. To truly embody BBD is to appear effortless, nonchalant even, so think linen blends or lightweight cottons for optimum 'throw on and go' effect. Rejina Pyo's ankle-grazing bubble hem skirt in the perfect shade of buttery yellow ticks all the BBD boxes, while Ganni's beige midi dress comes with extra-spacious sleeves and silver hardware that'll take your outfit up a notch. On the high street, Next's 100% linen balloon sleeve blouse will be your warm-weather wardrobe hero right up until autumn. Keep your hair sleek, à la Ross's slicked back bun (the ideal 'do for muggy days and sticky commutes) and accessories minimal to avoid going too 'art teacher'; low-key flip-flops will do, switched out for simple pumps and statement studs when the evening arrives. So, there you have it, an easy-breezy summer dressing solution – without a sweat patch in sight. 1. Acne Studios, Asymmetric Draped Striped Voile Shirt Dress 2.
