Domestic help, accomplice held for robbery at Cong man's house

1 2 Jaipur: Two men, including a domestic worker, were arrested, Saturday for their involvement in a robbery at the Vaishali Nagar home of Congressman Sandeep Chaudhary . The suspects, Bharat Bisht (28) and Hari Bahadur Dhami (29), were caught near the India-Nepal border in Uttarakhand as they attempted to flee to Nepal. Bisht's wife Kajal and two other accomplices remain at large. Police are yet to recover the stolen cash and jewellery and continue to raid multiple locations. The robbery occurred on May 14 while Chaudhary's mother Krishna, wife Mamta, son Rajdeep and daughter Rajshree were at home. Bisht and Kajal, who were employed as domestic staff through a placement agency just two weeks prior, conspired with outsiders to commit the crime. Krishna and Mamta were allegedly drugged with sedative-laced tea before the gang looted the house. The suspects meticulously planned their escape. They walked half a kilometre from the residence before entering a rented Haryana-registered car parked in Hanuman Nagar to avoid being captured on CCTV. Kajal and another suspect followed in the car, helping the group flee the city undetected. DCP west Amit Kumar said the breakthrough came after police spotted a suspicious taxi trailing the suspects. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ecuatoriano: descubre cómo ganar más con Cervecería Nacional CFD. las inversiones de hoy Reservar Undo Investigators traced the vehicle to Delhi and, with help from Uttarakhand police, located and arrested Bharat and Dhami. Additional DCP Alok Singhal led the investigation. CCTV footage confirmed Dhami's presence at the crime scene. Teams were dispatched to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with alerts issued along the Nepal border. According to police, Bharat, a Nepalese national, masterminded the operation. He coordinated with Dhami, Kajal and others, renting the getaway car in Delhi and driving to Jaipur for the planned heist. Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused and recover the stolen valuables.

'I wanted to play ... ': Rohit Sharma's emotional confession will give you goosebumps

Rohit Sharma (AFP Photo) NEW DELHI: A teary-eyed Rohit Sharma turned into a grateful son on Friday as he thanked his parents in an emotionally charged voice before walking them onto the stage at Wankhede Stadium , where a stand bearing his name was officially unveiled. In that moment, Rohit wasn't the cricketing superstar — he was a son acknowledging the countless sacrifices his parents had made to help him chase his dreams. "It's going to be even more special, to have my family here, parents, brother, wife. I am grateful and thankful for whatever they have sacrificed for me," Rohit said during the ceremony organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association . Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. The 38-year-old then stood by, visibly moved, as his parents — Gurunath and Poornima Sharma — joined Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to press the button that unveiled the Rohit Sharma Stand , accompanied by a burst of fireworks and a shower of confetti. Alongside Rohit, two other legends — former India captain Ajit Wadekar and former BCCI president Sharad Pawar — were also honoured with stands named after them at the stadium. IPL 2025: The unsung heroes of India's T20 league For Rohit, the moment was a childhood dream come true — to be mentioned in the same breath as the greats of Indian cricket. He was clearly overwhelmed by the honour. "What is going to happen today, I have never dreamed of. As a kid growing up, I wanted to play for Mumbai, for India. For me to have my name amongst the greats of the game, I cannot express it in words. "This is also special as I am still playing. I have retired from two formats, but I am still playing one format," he said. Despite all that he has achieved in the sport, Rohit shared one more dream that still lingers. "It will be surreal when I play on 21st (for Mumbai Indians in IPL) and have a stand here, it will be special when I represent the country here," he added, hinting at his desire to play an ODI at the Wankhede. Rohit has already bid farewell to T20Is and Test cricket after a glittering international career. The Wankhede holds a special place in his heart — it's where his cricketing aspirations began. "I had never dreamt of what was going to happen today. You try to achieve a lot of milestones, but something like this is really special, because Wankhede is an iconic stadium and so many memories have been made here," said Rohit. Bombay Sport Exchange Ep 5: Shane Watson on how IPL gave him a lifeline & his tribute to Phil Hughes "Special thanks to Pawar Saheb and Devendra Fadnavis for making it very special, it's a very special day," he added. However, the India star quickly shifted gears into his usual team-first mindset, aware that the Mumbai Indians are still in the hunt for an IPL playoffs spot. "My special team MI is also here, waiting for my speech to be over and start training," he said with a smile. Later, Rohit's teammate and close friend Suryakumar Yadav paid a glowing tribute to the MI skipper. "Congratulations @rohitsharma45 on achieving incredible things on the cricket ground, from finisher to opener to our captain, you have been an inspiration and our pride, in every role. "Very rarely comes a leader who leads from the front, and changes the game for the better. You are that leader who has changed not just the game, but the approach, the attitude, the dressing room atmosphere, the team, and redefined the role of a captain. "Like I have said before, good things happen to good people, and you deserve it all and more. Wankhede just got even more iconic," Suryakumar wrote on Instagram shortly after the unveiling. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also lauded Rohit and extended support for future cricketing infrastructure in the city. "Our iconic batter, captain and one of my favourites, and one who mesmerizes with his batting is present here," the CM said. "If there is a proposal from MCA for a new stadium, we will allot space for that to accommodate more fans," he added. NMC to demolish six wadas to pave way for Ram Kal Path

Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to raze six dangerous wadas along the Ram Kal Path — designed from Seeta Gumpha near Kala Ram Mandir to Ram Kunda in the Panchavati area. The civic body aims to complete this project, which is part of a centrally funded religious tourism initiative , to deliver a heritage look to the 1.3-km-long walkway with a forest-themed surroundings. Considering the design, there is a need to remove some structures along the road to ensure it is wide enough to accommodate the footfall of pilgrims, especially during the Simhastha Kumbh Mela to be held during 2026-28. "As part of the preparations, the NMC has decided to remove the dangerous structures that could likely cause problems. Hence, these six wadas have been marked as dangerous, and the residents are being relocated,"a senior civic official said. The structures that are to be removed are Inamdar Wada, Kelkar Wada, part of More Wada, Tulshidas Dharamshala, and two others. "The work must begin at the earliest as the project is being monitored by central govt. We may face some opposition from the locals, but the administration is taking them into confidence. The administration will have to appropriately compensate them and that is also under positive consideration," the official added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ecuatoriano: descubre cómo ganar más con Amazon CFD. Empezar ahora Registrarse Undo Central govt will provide Rs99 crore for the Rs150 crore project, out of which Rs65 crore has already been disbursed. The NMC will seek Rs50 crore from the state tourism department. The project aims to develop the entire zone in a way that people walking through will experience the era of Lord Ram. Keshav Patil, one of the affected residents who have been notified by the civic body, said that he would not move out of the wada. "We live in the heart of the city. We do not have money to buy property here. Where will my family members and I go? Govt compensation is not enough to relocate as it does not match the market rates of the property. I along with others will meet the NMC commissioner to discuss the steps being taken unilaterally," he said.
