Olivia Dean admits she 'doesn't need to be in a relationship to survive' and her ability to love has 'got her into trouble' after she was linked to singer Harry Styles
Singer Olivia Dean has insisted she 'doesn't need to be in a relationship to survive' after she was linked to fellow hitmaker Harry Styles. The singer, 26, admitted that she sees finding love as 'mystical' and she's learned 'not to take any s**t from people,' and she's grown 'comfortable' being by herself. Olivia was previously rumoured to be dating Harry Styles when they were pictured together last year, however a source insisted they were just good friends. Posing for a special digital shoot with ELLE UK, Olivia admitted that love was one of the main inspirations behind her new album. She said: 'Love is something that can feel quite mystical. It's this thing we all crave but aren't taught how to do it properly. Why don't we have a module at school? 'So, the album was just me zooming into that and looking at the last two years of my life and everything I've learned until now.'' The star, who is now dating drummer Eddie Burns, added that in recent years she's learned to value her self-worth, and set boundaries in relationships. She continued: 'I've become quite protective. It's a really beautiful skill to love openly and easily but sometimes it can get you into trouble. 'I don't take any s**t from people. Definitely not as much as I would have done when I was younger. I know my worth and how I deserve to be loved. I have no time for b*******t.' Despite the recent changes in her love life, Olivia went onto say she has learned to be happy as a single woman. 'I'm very comfortable by myself and don't feel like I need to be in a relationship to survive; it should be additional as opposed to filling an absence,' she said. Olivia was previously rumoured to be dating Harry Styles last year.
