Emma Stone's 'New Face Reveal' Sets Tongues Wagging As Doctor Hints Actress Had 'Tasteful' Procedure
Emma Stone has gone viral for her stunning appearance at the "Eddington" premiere, even sparking rumors about a potential facelift. Top cosmetic doctor Jonny Betteridge has now weighed in on the matter, suggesting that the actress may have undergone subtle procedures, such as an upper blepharoplasty and mid-face lift. However, Emma Stone has never confirmed undergoing any enhancements but has attributed her look to skincare, using simple ingredients due to sensitive skin. Speculation is swirling online after Stone appeared at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, "Eddington," on June 26, looking youthful. The 36-year-old Oscar winner's refreshed appearance sparked a wave of commentary from fans, many pointing out what they described as a "very well executed" lift around her upper face. While the change could simply be the result of good makeup or a top-tier skincare regimen, some experts believe there may be more behind the transformation. Among them is Dr. Jonny Betteridge, a well-known London aesthetic doctor and founder of JB Aesthetics. In a viral TikTok video, cautioned, "Emma Stone New Face," Dr. Betteridge asked viewers: "Did you notice Emma Stone looking a bit different?" He then stated that "her face looked noticeably more defined and facelifted. Her brows sit higher, especially the tails, the eyelids are more visible, and her eyes have an almond-like shape." Emma Stone stuns in newly shared picture. — Film Updates (@FilmUpdates) June 27, 2025 Drawing comparisons to Emma's look from four years ago, Dr. Betteridge suggested that "these changes could be consistent with an upper blepharoplasty and an endoscopic temporal brow lift and mid-face lift." "(They) lift and tighten the mid to upper face, like the cheeks, temples, and brows, using small incisions and a tiny camera called an endoscope," he explained. Blepharoplasty, which Dr. Betteridge believes Stone may have undergone, targets the upper eyelids. By trimming away loose skin, the eyes can appear more open, alert, and youthful. For a more pronounced transformation, this surgery is often paired with a brow lift. This involves making tiny incisions hidden along the hairline and gently lifting the underlying facial muscles. The result is a reduction in sagging across the upper face, particularly around the forehead and eyes. According to Dr. Betteridge, these procedures are considered "minimally invasive" and are "typically done on people in their 30s to 40s who are showing mild to moderate signs of facial aging." Betteridge further speculated that Stone may have undergone a mid-face lift in addition to an upper blepharoplasty. He explained that this procedure typically involves incisions that "are well hidden in the hairline, temporal area, or inside the mouth, which helps to reduce visible scarring." Referencing recent research, Dr. Betteridge noted that Stone's appearance at the premiere closely resembled examples published in the 2024 issue of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. "These patients show similar anatomical shifts, lifted brows and mid-face, and an almond-like appearance to their eyes. And these are common results of an endoscopic facelift," he said, per the Daily Mail. However, he was quick to clarify that if any cosmetic work was done, it was done with finesse: "Whatever may have been done, it appears to be tasteful, elegant, and very well executed." Although Dr. Betteridge has suggested that Stone may have undergone cosmetic procedures, the actress herself has never confirmed or even hinted at such enhancements. The "La La Land" actress has remained tight-lipped about any tweaks and is far more vocal about her commitment to skincare. In a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, Stone shared that she has extremely dry and sensitive skin, which makes her highly selective about the products she uses. "I'm really allergic to a lot of stuff, so I can only use products with a single ingredient in it," she explained. She continued: "I use a cleanser, and sometimes I exfoliate with baking soda or brown sugar. I like experimenting. I love coconut oil and olive oil—I have a big bottle of it on my sink, and I put it all over my face and smell like it's sexy." Stone also has a known affinity for eye makeup, which can dramatically enhance the appearance of the upper face when applied correctly. "I've learned to fill in my eyebrows—I use an eyeshadow and a little brush to do them, which I enjoy...I wear mascara most days, but I do put on a little makeup every day because it helps me feel put together. But yeah, mascara is essential," she said. Over on X, several individuals gushed over Stone's look, with some praising her short hair and others insisting that she has had work done on her face. Someone wrote, "I had the biggest crush on her since Superbad; she's still looking amazing." Another stated, "She did something. She's now like 10 years younger." "Facelift looking stunning. Celebs don't have to age anymore," a third person said. One more person commented, "This short hair phase is so top tier. Emma Stone has the perfect face for a pixie grow-out."

Angelina Jolie exudes glamour in an elegant cream gown as she joins Natalie Portman, Julia Garner and Emma Stone at the Eddington premiere during Cannes Film Festival
Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Julia Garner and Emma Stone led the stars attending the premiere of Eddington at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday. Actress Angelina ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived to the event in a white strapless dress with a cinched waist that highlighted her incredible figure. The film star added height to her frame with a pair of heels and she let her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders. Accessorising with a simple gold necklace, the Oscar winner completed her look with a pair of classic drop earrings. Natalie drew attention with her look as she sported a black dress with a silver shimmering detail. The garment also featured a black ribbon tied around the chest and Natalie added to her outfit with an eye-catching silver necklace. Wearing her brunette tresses in a sleek updo, the May December star accentuated her natural beauty with a light palette of makeup. Natalie Portman (L) drew attention with her look as she sported a black dress with a silver shimmering detail, while Julia Garner (R) captured the audience with her feather purple gown This year's Cannes Film Festival is taking place in the wake of Trump´s vow to enact tariffs on international films. Cannes, where filmmakers, sales agents and journalists gather from around the world, is the Olympics of the big screen, with its own golden prize, the Palme d´Or, to give out at the end. Filmmakers come from nearly every corner of the globe to showcase their films while dealmakers work through the night to sell finished films or packaged productions to various territories. 'You release a film into that Colosseum-like situation,' says Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho, who´s returning to Cannes with 'The Secret Agent, a thriller set during Brazil ´s dictatorship. 'You´ve got to really prepare for the whole experience because it´s quite intense - not very far from the feeling of approaching a roller coaster as you go up the steps at the Palais.' Trump sent shock waves through Hollywood and the international film community when he announced on May 4 that all movies "produced in Foreign Lands" will face 100% tariffs. The White House has said no final decisions have been made. Options being explored include federal incentives for U.S.-based productions, rather than tariffs. But the announcement was a reminder of how international tensions can destabilize even the oldest cultural institutions. The Cannes Film Festival originally emerged in the World War II years, when the rise of fascism in Italy led to the founding of an alternative to the then-government controlled Venice Film Festival. In the time since, Cannes´ resolute commitment to cinema has made it a beacon to filmmakers. Countless directors have come to make their name. This year is no different, though some of the first-time filmmakers at Cannes are already particularly well-known. Kristen Stewart (The Chronology of Water), Scarlett Johansson (Eleanor the Great) and Harris Dickinson (Urchin) will all be unveiling their feature directorial debuts in Cannes´ Un Certain Regard sidebar section. Over recent years the star-studded extravaganza has arguably won more attention for the outfits worn by its celebrity guests than the roster of feature films being screened on the Croisette. But new nudity rules, devised for 'the sake of decency,' have been implemented at this year's festival. According to organisers, the austere move is an attempt to stifle the celebrity trend for 'naked dresses' - namely provocative outfits that reveal considerably more than they conceal - on the red carpet. 'For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as any other area of the festival,' states a Cannes festival document. 'The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.' The surprise new policy features in a recent festival-goers charter - released with a series of outlines regarding expected public behaviour. Guests are expected to converge on the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière for some of the highest profile film screenings across a packed two-week schedule in Cannes. It's understood that the iconic venue now adopts a more conservative dress code, with suits, dinner jackets and floor-length evening gowns generally favoured over headline grabbing ensembles. Classic little black dresses, cocktail dresses, pant-suits, dressy tops and elegant sandals, 'with or without a heel', will also be permitted. While the decision to implement a more stringent policy will be a first, it is not known if French TV broadcasters, wary of airing nudity, played a role in its enforcement. Major red carpet events, including the Cannes Film Festival, are aired in France by France Télévisions Recently attracting more models and influencers than actors and filmmakers, the annual ceremony has seen an increase in risque red carpet fashion statements. In 2021, American supermodel Bella Hadid bared her cleavage in a plunging black gown while attending a screening of Tre Piani (Three Floors). She pulled a similar stunt three years later, with guests at the 2024 gala left speechless after she attended the premiere of Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice completely braless beneath a sheer brown evening dress.
