Dream job for beer lovers as popular Scottish brewery looks to recruit 5 tasters

No CV is required for this role, which is set to kick off in the summer. A dream job for beer lovers is up for grabs, as one of Scotland's top breweries has launched a nationwide search for a new beer taster - a role that requires little more than a passion for lager and promises unique VIP experiences. Innis & Gunn is seeking to fill five coveted beer taster positions for a full year, with the work set to start on July 1, 2025. Far from needing a traditional CV, the main requirement is a genuine love for their lager, which will of course, be provided free of charge. ‌ The rewards for these lucky individuals go beyond sampling new brews. The chosen tasters will gain VIP access to some of Scotland's most prestigious cultural events, Scottish Daily Express reported. ‌ Those who get the job will have the opportunity to enjoy Belladrum, the Edinburgh Christmas Market, Celtic Connections, and even The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Innis & Gunn believes this "could genuinely be the best gig in the country." The search for these 'pint professionals' kicked off in a unique way in Glasgow. The brewery partnered with video interview platform Willo to create a live, interactive application experience. A special pop up booth was set up at The Social Hub in Glasgow, inviting passersby to step inside and participate. The booth captured the attention of busy Glaswegians, prompting them to answer a series of cleverly designed questions. ‌ These ranged from the technical, such as describing the flavour of a pint in just five words, to the more playful, asking applicants to demonstrate pulling an imaginary pint. The result was a "hilarious reel of passionate pitches" from enthusiastic potential candidates. ‌ While the Glasgow launch offered a fun twist on the interview process, the opportunity itself is a serious one with fantastic perks. The selected tasters will receive training in addition to gaining exclusive access to new beers at the Innis & Gunn Taproom. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
