George Clooney Cracks A Joke About His Hair Colour At Sardi's Portrait Ceremony: ‘It's Much Better…'

Published By : Trending Desk For his role in Good Night, and Good Luck, Clooney darkened his hair to portray the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow. George Clooney was recently honoured with a portrait at Sardi's in New York City following his Broadway debut with Good Night, and Good Luck. Sardi's is known for commemorating Broadway and film stars and has displayed portraits of notable figures for over a century. Clooney's portrait was added to this collection on April 24. . At the event, Clooney couldn't help but comment about the contrast between his current hair colour and the one in his portrait. The portrait showcased his classic silver hair before he recently darkened it for his role in Good Night, and Good Luck. 'I like the hair colour. It's much better than my hair colour right now. That's better. It's grey, mostly grey. There we are, thank you so much," Clooney joked. The two actors, who share a long friendship, have worked together in several films such as the Ocean's trilogy, Burn After Reading and Wolfs. In Wolfs, they portrayed two fixers who are hired for the same job which led to some comic tension between their characters. At the premiere of Wolfs at the Venice Film Festival, Clooney made a light-hearted remark about working with Pitt. 'There's nothing good about it. It's all a disaster," he jokingly told People. The actor then added, 'It's fun to work with people you know really well." For his role in Good Night, and Good Luck, Clooney darkened his hair to portray the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow. Not only did he star in the play, he also co-wrote the script. This play is based on Clooney's 2005 film, which also covered the relationship between Murrow and Senator Cormac McCarthy during the Cold War period. Clooney played Fred W. Friendly in the original film while David Strathairn portrayed Murrow. David Strathairn earned an Oscar nomination for his performance. Talking about the significance of journalism, Clooney shared with Vulture, 'It seemed like a good time to remind ourselves how important journalism is to all of us and what a terrible state the country would be in without the Fourth Estate." 'Also, I think it's a nice time to remind ourselves of us at our best—when we stood up to power and people did something very brave and unselfish," he added. Good Night, and Good Luck will run until June 8.r First Published:

George Clooney Reveals How Wife Amal Clooney and Their Children Feel About His Brown Hair

George Clooney is having a bit of an identity crisis when it comes to his new hair! The two-time Oscar winner is known for his signature silver-fox look but recently dyed his hair dark brown for his Broadway debut role of Edward R. Murrow in 'Good Night, and Good Luck.' Speaking with Gayle King for 'CBS Mornings,' the actor shared that he is not a fan of the new look. 'I know, it's not good. Oh, it's not good,' he quipped, adding, 'I'm not used to it. You never get used to it. Listen, I started getting grey when I was 25. So, I've been grey most of my life. It's not my favorite look.' The 63-year-old then revealed how his wife, Amal Clooney, feels about his darker hair. 'My wife – she thinks it's funny,' he said, adding that their children, 7-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, 'laugh at it.' 'Honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dying your hair,' he joked.

George Clooney jokes about dying his iconic silver hair dark for Broadway role: "You never get used to it"

George Clooney is one of Hollywood's most well-known silver foxes. But lately, he's been sporting a new look — one he admits is not exactly his favorite. The 63-year-old actor dyed his hair to star in the Broadway adaptation of "Good Night and Good Luck ," and he knows it's catching people off guard. "I know it's not good," Clooney quipped during an interview with "CBS Mornings" that aired Monday. "You never get used to it." The actor told "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King that he's had salt-and-pepper hair for most of his life and he said he is not used to seeing it so dark. "It's not my favorite look, and my wife, she thinks it's funny," joked Clooney, adding that his 7-year-old twins laugh at his new look. "Because, honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dying your hair." The "Ocean's Eleven" actor made his Broadway debut this month, playing the role of legendary CBS News journalist Edward R. Murrow in "Good Night and Good Luck." He said despite his experience as an actor and speaking to crowds, opening night was as "nerve-racking as you can imagine." "There is a huge responsibility with these words because they are Edward R. Murrow's words," he said. "There's a lot of people in that audience who know those speeches by heart... I feel a sort of enormous responsibility to the people who originally said these words, to make sure that I do it well. So yeah, it's nerve-racking." Clooney also opened a little bit about his family – wife Amal Clooney and their two children Ella and Alexander. "Our kids are 7, about to be 8, which is a pretty great age. They're really curious and funny," he said. "Every parent thinks their kids are great — our kids are funny and make us laugh." Clooney insisted that he and Amal, whom he married in 2014 , have yet to have a fight and are "having a really great time in life." "I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we'd never had an argument. We still haven't," he said. "We're trying to find something to fight about!" "I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman," Clooney added. "I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think I'm the luckiest man in the world. So it's great."
