Egis, a leading global architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations and maintenance services firm, has announced the appointment of Frederico Justus as Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and South Asia. This strategic move comes as part of Egis' broader reorganisation under the Impact the Future plan, designed to position the company among the world's top 10 construction engineering firms and double its turnover by 2029. 'As the demand for sustainable and digitally enabled infrastructure accelerates globally, Egis is strategically positioned to deliver at every stage. Our vision is to lead this shift in priorities by empowering regions like the Middle East and South Asia—where national ambitions and future-focused development are converging at unprecedented scale,' said Laurent Germain, Group CEO of Egis. "Alaa Abusiam's exceptional five-year leadership in the region has been instrumental in establishing this strong foundation in the Middle East, positioning Egis as one of the top five consultancy and engineering firms in the region," he noted. "We look forward to his continued impact as he takes on a key region for the Egis Group next – The Americas. Looking ahead, I am confident that Frederico's proven operational skills, strategic insights, and global perspective will be invaluable in further strengthening Egis's presence in the Middle East and South Asia," stated Germain. "His leadership will be key to enhancing our delivery of integrated value to our clients and communities in this vital region," he added With a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years, Justus has helmed multinational organisations, specialising in performance excellence, large-scale project delivery, and strategic market expansion. He brings with him a deep command of commercial growth, digitalisation, and low-carbon operations. Having worked in numerous countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia, including 10 years in the Middle East, his global expertise and ability to translate vision into action make him exceptionally well-positioned to lead Egis in the Middle East and South Asia through its next chapter of sustainable and profitable growth. Justus previously served as Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East and South Asia regions at Egis and prior to joining the company in 2024, he held senior leadership roles in engineering, digital technology, and energy firms, driving forward digital transformation and decarbonisation across emerging and mature markets alike. His international experience includes leading billion-dollar operations, launching innovationdriven partnerships, and advancing AI-and data-enabled solutions to enhance urban systems and infrastructure resiliency. Egis has simultaneously announced additional leadership changes in the region as part of its strengthened management structure. Egis unit to design 212-unit Saadiyat Island residential project

U+A, part of Egis Group and a global architecture and design firm, has signed an agreement with leading UAE group Taraf Holding for the development of Solea, a mid-rise residential project on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. With a Gross Floor Area (GFA) of 34,167 sq m, Solea establishes a new benchmark in coastal urban living by seamlessly integrating contemporary design, sustainability, and affordability, said the U+A in a statement. Rising seven floors above a basement parking level, Solea offers 212 residences, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to expansive four-bedroom homes. The design ethos harmonizes architecture, interiors, and landscape solutions to deliver an elevated residential experience. Solea's architectural vision embraces modernity, functionality, and sustainability, responding to its coastal surroundings while fostering a vibrant sense of community. Its refined aesthetic is characterized by clean lines, expansive glazing, and integrated landscaping cultivating a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, it stated. The Egis unit delivered the design scope for this development, encompassing architecture, interior design, and landscape design, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach across all aspects of the project. "Our vision was to create a contemporary residential complex that harmonises with Saadiyat Island's coastal surroundings while delivering high-quality urban living," remarked Tiago Sampaio, Design Principal at U+A. "By incorporating interlocking massing, we achieved a dynamic architectural expression that fosters a sense of community through integrated private and communal spaces," stated Sampaio. According to him, the thoughtfully crafted development consists of two interconnected buildings, distinguished by an innovative interlocking massing strategy that creates a striking architectural identity. The façade composition - a rhythmic blend of glass and solid elements - maximizes natural light penetration while ensuring privacy and energy efficiency. Landscape areas further enhance liveability, featuring lush green spaces, water features, shaded seating areas, and pedestrian-friendly pathways, said Sampaio. At the heart of Solea, a resort-style pool area encourages relaxation and social engagement, complemented by serene courtyard spaces. Sustainability is a cornerstone of Solea's design, ensuring long-term environmental efficiency through key strategies," he added. -TradeArabia News Service Copyright 2024 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
